My name is Susin and I have been doing Crossfit for about 6 months now. I love it and feel so much stronger. Then only thing is I have not lost any weight and I need to loose like 25 to 30 lbs. I know putting muscle on is a given but is there a secret to losing the fat. I somewhat adhere to the Paleo diet. Any advice? I do a class three times a week is this enough for weight loss and should I do any cardio the 4 other days? Thanks for letting ... Fri, 7 Feb 2014 12:50:50 EST Box Jumps No-No's It takes a lot of strength to do box jumps. It's an exercise that you have to start low and work up from there. I just started to try doing box jumps. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that you are supposed to STEP-DOWN from your jump. I learned that the hard way. I torn tendons in my calf on my right leg, by jumping down. Fortunately, I don't need surgery, just have to wear an Ortho boot for 6 weeks. So, the morale of the story is to always stretch first, before you begin exercising, ge... Mon, 27 Jan 2014 18:00:52 EST How do I choose a good box? I'm interested in joining a Crossfit box near my home, but a quick Google search turned up 10 different ones within 20 minutes of my house. How in the world do I choose which one to join? Obviously I prefer the box with the most knowledgeable trainers, but being that I know next to nothing about Crossfit, how can I evaluate them?

Any advice on choosing a Crossfit box would be greatly appreciated. But, now that he has started doing CrossFit, he has drasticly dropped body fat levels.... Fri, 13 Dec 2013 11:04:36 EST is there a leader yet? However, if you have any exercise routines you think could help me not become stagnant, I would love to hear from you!

Hope you all have a wonderful day! 30 Thu, 11 Jul 2013 12:11:10 EST June Challenge Burpee Ladder Challenge!!!

We are starting a bit late so there is a buy in, on whatever day you begin, you'll need to do however many burpees have elapsed.

You will do the number that the date is so today is the 8th so we will do 8 burpees, but we have a buy in of 28 from the 1-7th.

The later you start, the worse it is...

NOTE: Because I started the challenge late, if you happened to have done burpees during WODs this month and posted them they wi... Mon, 27 May 2013 17:39:57 EST May I got caught up in competition training and missed a few weeks and to be honest I was hard pressed to come up with questions every week any way so we are switching to a monthly thread instead.

HOW DOES YOUR BOX AND SPECIFICALLY YOU, DEAL WITH INJURIES? (I.E. TAKE TIME OFF, MODIFY WODS, OR JUST POWER THROUGH)

*I modify, I lost 6 months to knee surgery I don't need to lose anymore. My coaches are great about working around injuries.

Wed, 1 May 2013 03:09:46 EST May Challenge Ok I've been slacking a bit on the challenges I apologize.

DO 18 WODS DURING MAY and post them in this thread or the WOD thread.

Wed, 1 May 2013 03:02:43 EST April 8th FAVORITE KETTLEBELL MOVEMENT?

*Since I specified "movement" I'll go with the catch and release swing (can't recall the real name), but basically you let go and catch it with the other hang mid swing. I'm so happy there are groups here on SP! I just don't know where to start. I have been practicing my push-ups, squats and endurance. I'm currently working out at a regular gym. I'm able to knock out 100 squats at a time with no weights. My upper body is not as strong as I need it to be. I'm working on that. I'm eating and drinking well daily. MAYBE A TYPE OF SONG?

*Power by Kanye West, I am actually not a fan anymore after his B.S with Taylor Swift a few years ago but that song used to play all the time at my old box and it got me through some of my hardest WODs and has forever cemented a spot in my workout playlist. (Or first one you can recall)

Mine was something to do with dumbbell push presses, there were likely other movements involved but all I remember were the presses because you weren't supposed to drop weight mid WOD and I didn't and thus ended up with tendonitis in my elbows and was in excruciating pain for several days. Hi all!

I did a round of whole30 a few months ago and have stayed mostly paleo since then. I have re-introduced some dairy (always whole fat and organic/pastured when I can get it) and gluten-free grains. I would say I consume one serving of either of these per day. Some people at my box swear paleo is the way to go, others praise zone. When I asked my coach what she does she said "I do both". I looked at her like she had two heads.
