I had many symptoms for a long time before that, but I believe my last pregnancy in 2006/07 and some major stress in my marriage brought on a significant flare in 2010. This is what launched the search for answers. I am coming off of a flare now after a 6 month period of improved symptoms. During that time I began to question my diagnosis. After reading over a... Even then about half the time I can't function very well. In reading the article Spark had today I realized that maybe controlling my fibromyalgia will make me more active and not the other way around. After a week of traveling and a week of being sick, I was able to work out today. I rode my bike to and from the gym, where I met with my trainer for a 45 minute session that included a lot of ST and stretching as well as some cardio. Calories will come in around 2OOO today. I am still a little draggy so plan to take a nap this afternoon and be happy I can fit that in. I was amazed at how little I ached after so long without a real workout. Around 2 months ago I began experiencing severe pain in my neck shoulders and upper arms. In a 3 week time frame the pain also developed into muscle weakness that left me feeling so debilitated. It started at 3:30 a.m. when the alarm went off. Ugh. I wanted so badly to go back to sleep. I cursed a lot. But this stuff is important to my partner so I got up. I was "diagnosed" with fibro. about twenty years ago, after suffering from horrible neck strain & a terrible headache that "never went away". I had every test imaginable done to try to find out the cause of the pain, went from doctor to doctor to doctor (I'm sure you all know how that goes), and they couldn't find the exact cause of my pain. In the years since, I've suffered from "allover" muscle pain (burning & numbing type pain), from the ... Or am I SOL and just have to drink tons and tons and tons of water? I am new to this group and the entire website so I'm still trying to figure out how to use it! LOL A friend of mine told me about this website and recommended it to me! So I thought I would try it. I have Fibro, Chronic Fatigue and a crapload of other issues. I've been Dx since 2006 but have had it since I was a child (most likely born with it due to complications in the womb we think). I've gained about 20 lbs since June and I'm not happy about it. I'm trying to s... Wed, 28 Dec 2011 12:28:29 EST Newly Diagnosed http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x41x45681586 Hi, my name is Amanda and I am a 33 year old wife and mother. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 2 weeks ago. I was told by my doctor that becoming active and losing weight were two keys to controlling pain. So, here I am trying to find a way to enjoy life again and become more physically functional. My Dr went back and forth saying I have fibromyalgia, then I didn't, now I do, etc. So yeah, here I am. <BR> <BR> Anyway. I'm Tina. I'm 38 years old and from NY. I have kids ranging from 3 - 21 and 2 grand-daughters (aged 3weeks and 18 months) I'm happily married to my soulmate (yes, it's corny but true) He's my English gentleman. I currently stay at home with my little girl, but am a Certified Nurses Assistant and will go back to... Tue, 27 Dec 2011 20:48:46 EST A really dumb question. http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x41x45593899 How do I remove "teams"? No, I don't want to remove this one - this one I want to keep. :) When I signed up, I just kinda clicked on them, not knowing it would be a problem later, but I can't figure out for the life of me how to remove the ones I don't want! Any suggestions? Tue, 20 Dec 2011 23:47:37 EST switching meds again. This time Lyrica. http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x41x45579786 I've been on Paxil, Zoloft, Lexopro, .Cymbalta, and .Savella . I've avoided Lyrica because of the side effects I've read about. For those of you on Lyrica, is it helping you? what about side effects? I will be starting on 75 mg for the first five days then 75mg twice a day. Any tips welcome. <BR> Barb Mon, 19 Dec 2011 22:14:51 EST Portion Control http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x41x45577434 Okay, folks, let's see how much you know about portion control.
