Are you on any special diet to help manage your fibro? I'm kinda confused. My fibro doc said that many people find a gluten free diet helps ease some of the daily symptoms. However, I am reading that for my PCOS I need to go on the Paleo diet (which I am only just starting to read up on) but if I decide to incorporate both into my life, I will eat NOTHING. Pointers? What special diet (if any) are you on? What kind of success have you had? I will swim tonight with my partner and get in a bike ride this afternoon. My fibro symptoms have been amazingly minimal during this bug so that is a blessing. Calories will come in around 2OOO today. Have not planned dinner yet cuz I am not entirely sure of our evening schedule. I do have to deal with fibromyalgia (nearly two years now), the rain and cold are the hardest times for me. Stress caused me to develop fibro and now I need to control my stress and my eating. I am not able to do what I want to do anymore, I have to make sure I do not overdo things - I am not saying anything that everyone else here doesn't already know and understand.

I have a weight loss goal of 160 pounds, that 70 pound... Maybe just the hat getting to me, Still coughing some from the big I had so maybe that is still hanging on a bit too. Will most likely take a nap this afternoon.

I biked to the gym this morning. There I took a 45 minute water aerobics class that included some ST and stretching. All told calories will come in around 2OOO though supper is in the air. Again. New plan to be made when I call my partner in a few minutes. I imagine ... Joan Tue, 12 Jun 2012 20:42:32 EST Hello http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x41x48496786 Hello, My name is Jen 35, from Pittsburgh, PA. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia since 1997. I have pretty much been through it all. I am just starting to eat differently and exercise more and bite the bullet for the pain. I actually feel great. It is a lot better than laying in bed and sleeping all of the time. :) Tue, 12 Jun 2012 18:58:08 EST Day 28 http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=3609x41x48493993 FINALLY able to get back at this. After a week of traveling and a week of being sick, I was able to work out today. I rode my bike to and from the gym, where I met with my trainer for a 45 minute session that included a lot of ST and stretching as well as some cardio. Calories will come in around 2OOO today. I am still a little draggy so plan to take a nap this afternoon and be happy I can fit that in. I was amazed at how little I ached after so long without a real workout. The train and car rides were NOT good for my fibro or RH. To make matters even more interesting, I have some sort of nasty upper respiratory thing for which I am to see the doc in an hour or so because it sure acts like pneumonia. The trip was successful and my daughter is here for the summer now. It would be nice not to cough for a few minutes though. Better updates when I am better. Being at home, it isn't that much of a problem. But trying to work when every task takes 3 times as long because I have to concentrate so hard on each detail and the not being able to remember the simple things that should be second-nature like what form to use or what fields I need to enter is stressful and exhausting. Any suggestions as to things you have found to clear the fog????? :) Wed, 16 May 2012 09:35:44 EST Me and My Fibro http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x41x48082169 Hey all! I'm new around here. Well, been here for about week now. I was diagnosed in 2006 with Fibromyalgia. I am coming up on my "7 year anniversary". I celebrate my anniversary cause that is when my life changed completely. My fibro gets in the way of my life sometimes for sure, but I have a positive attitude most days. Glad to be here and looking forward to making some friends and positive influences. Tue, 15 May 2012 08:19:57 EST Any natural things help with symptoms? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x41x48058396 I cannot afford Lyrica or Cymbalta. No insurance and it is very expensive and I don't make much money! Anything natural help your symptoms? Or any foods or exercises help? I am always tired and I always hurt, especially my shoulders, neck, and back. I used to be able to work out 6 days a week for about an hour each time. But now, I am lucky if I can walk 2 days a week. I used to do the elliptical and run and everything. Now walking is all I can do. Mon, 14 May 2012 08:46:25 EST Recently Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x41x48045875 I just found out I have fibromyalgia. I have a lot of questions like what kind of exercising works the best to help keep me active and moving? I've always been active and the last year has been a struggle just to get out of bed. Also does nutrition play a role? How long does it take for Lyrica to start working. Please help me to figure this out.

Thanks,
Lisa Sun, 13 May 2012 09:17:03 EST Won't let fibro own me http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x41x48025886 Hi! I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia back in 2003. The combination of meds and stopping all activity caused me to gain about 70 pounds. I managed to lose 80 after quitting most of the meds, eating according to the Six Week body MakeOver plan, and working out. Unfortunately, as we all know, those pesky pounds have a way of creeping up and I have gained some back. It was been more than half, but I have been steady around the weight I am now for about 2 years.

I have been to th... Fri, 11 May 2012 18:39:16 EST Hello from a newbie http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x41x47988921 I'm new! I need friends and a support team. I am ubber lazy and require tons of motivation. My kids were enough to get me started, but I don't have anyone to be accountable to. I have a great boyfriend, and he tries to help, but he needs to lose weight also. We have talked and talked and talked about losing weight together but nothing is actually happening. We are getting married in a few months and it would be nice to buy a new dress that is a few sizes smaller than what I'm in right now. I ... My name is Karen and I'm 50 years old. I'm still waiting for blood work results but after reading about fibromyalgia and the doctor saying she thinks that is probably what it is, I'm pretty sure. I have osteoarthritis in every joint and about to have my first joint replacement--in my jaw--on July 10th. Evidentally it takes awhile to make a well-fitting jaw joint! I try to use humor to get through things but it has been harder and harder to do that lately. I had lost 109 lbs. and ... Sun, 6 May 2012 10:35:06 EST
