Thu, 13 Feb 2014 10:00:30 EST Hi Everyone, I'm new to this Team - Anyone there? After doing a LOT of research these last few months I came across Jorge's 100 book and finally "GOT IT" . His understanding of how the insulin works in the body and how to keep the insulin levels down finally hit the mark with me. I then read the Carb Swap book and felt that fit my lifestyle much easier. Just started last week after a few weeks in transit and watching my sugar/carbs. I'm 58, and it is difficult to take it off at this age, but I am all over it to make a difference and get phys... My friend and I had the Skinny Muffin for the first time this morning and were trying to think of ways to change it up. I couldn't find vanilla or almond extracts on the food list. It was okay as far as flavor but there is no way I could eat this on a regular basis. We didn't have coconut oil so we used safflower oil. Don't really know if that changed the flavor much. Mon, 5 Sep 2011 15:29:23 EST a special birthday so it's my birthday (a special one) and I did not reach the goal that I set for myself. Instead of losing 13lbs I lost 9.5lbs. And I'm not complaining. I enjoy the BFC and I really feel great, have lots of energy and I learned that I CAN DO THIS. The birthday celebration lasted 3 days and I treated myself and the scale shows it. But I have the tools and the confidence needed to get right back in and get back on track! Sun, 4 Sep 2011 18:14:04 EST End of the year resolution This months challenge to you is to think of the reasons why you want to stay on track from September through December, and make a plan of action to see them through! I want you to set a goal.

On December 31st I will be at my goal weight.

I will accomplish this by
1) weighing in daily, no matter what
2) tracking what I eat and when I exercise, no matter what
3) Going to Curves 3x per week
4) keeping accountable to others with regards to these things <... I want to start the No excuses plan (maybe the italian style) - what wrap do you all use? What size in diameter??? Has anyone kept to the no excuse one for longer than a week and did you find it to be a great success for you?

thanks!! Lori Sun, 17 Jul 2011 14:47:56 EST Somewhat new to SP... Hello, my name is Jen. I'm 28 years old, I work full time as a CNA and also go to school full time for nursing. Between work, school, and other every day duties I do not have a lot of extra time for anything else. I have lost 5 pounds so far while I've been using SP but want to lose about 20 more. This is the most weight that I have lost without using diet pills. I think this time I've actually done it for myself and not anyone else. I am tired of not being happy with myself. I want to feel g... Sun, 3 Jul 2011 16:24:38 EST Start the day with a Belly Good Breakfast! Happy July Team! It is a well known idea throughout the dieting community that 'breakfast is the most important meal of the day.' I know through personal experience that while I may have temporary success with skipping breakfast occasionally or pushing the meal off as long as possible, this tends to backfire on me. I end up overindulging later on in in the day some way or another.

If I start the day off on the right foot, that is with a Belly Good meal with an S/C value of 5/2 ... Sat, 2 Jul 2011 10:38:51 EST Hello I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Lindsey. I am a 32 year old mommy of 6 (2 step kiddos,3 of mine, and one foster/hopefully adopting baby). Tue, 21 Jun 2011 14:44:56 EST Just checkin' in! Hey friends,
Just wanted to let you all know that in my absence, I haven't been lax. Sort of switched my plan, which is very controversial on spark people. It worked for me and I've lost some serious weight(for me) since May 1st. I'm now on a maintence phase. I've missed you all, but have kept up somewhat with whats going on. Hope everyone is having a great summer so far. It's already in the hight 90's most days in SC. I have been enjoying the lake with the grands most days. Friday will ... Wed, 15 Jun 2011 15:25:57 EST No scale! Well this week I am in an interesting situation. I am a daily weigh-er. I like the daily feedback of getting on the scale. Whether I'm up or down doesn't really matter - I can point to reasons if I'm up why I'm up or if I'm down, why I'm down. I use it to keep myself on track.

Last weekend we decided to trade in our wii. I had been using the wii fit and balance board to track my weight, but I no longer have that. There is a scale at the gym, but I don't go there every day, not even... Tue, 14 Jun 2011 16:08:41 EST Calling all Chocolate Lovers! This month's challenge is to eat at least one meal per day from the "Fast Track" meal plan. I did lose and I have a feeling tomorrow's weigh in will show a loss. Perhaps it is because I was ONLY eating fruits and veggies and some nuts??
I'll be keeping in a good amount of veggies but love that I don't have to do that to lose!
My waist is till 37 in. though... I am wondering how people get 25 g of fiber per day....I'm having a hard time doing that and I'm afraid that is going to mess with my bowels. I have read about Probiotics, and that is in yogurt...but yogurt has a lot of sugar....

Tonight I made a "salad" to take to lunch tomorrow...kidney beans with Italian Dressing on it (3/2 s/c)....any suggestions for getting enough fiber would be appreciated! THANKS! Mon, 25 Apr 2011 20:51:04 EST Getting rid of the Weight Watchers mentality I just had a steak last night. It had to be half a pound of the NY strip. And boy was I FULL!!! On a diet like WW, eating a deck of cards worth of a steak works for them. However, I have found that the diet industry "helps" dieters avoid too much food by offering them chemical substutes. One of those substitutes is pop or soda, specifically "diet". I have just given that up, cold turkey.

I believe that these little diet supplements help keep weight ON. I think it's better to eat a... Mon, 25 Apr 2011 12:27:42 EST Fat Head Movie Has anyone seen the movie Fat Head? Just wondering what you thought. I just joined this forum recently, and I just made my first post, so I thought i'd actually introduce myself lol. My name is Staci, and I've been doing the BFC for about 5 or 6 weeks now. I've also been exercising regularly (about 4-5x/week). I had baby 7 months ago, and I had about 10 pounds to go to get to my pre-pg weight, but my goal is 20 pounds. Right now i'm down 11. I did have a setback a few weeks ago when it was my b-day, as I ate out about 4 times that week and d... Wed, 13 Apr 2011 09:46:16 EST All of this calorie counting has BACKFIRED on me! I really like BFC. I don't crave sugar when I follow it. And 50-120 carbs/day of anything (fries, bread, rice, veggies) is good for my body. Consuming under 15g of sugar daily evens out my emotions and I can walk past Easter candy and say "meh, no thanks".

However, I got "wise" one day 28 and thought "hey, if I'm counting carbs and sugar, I should probably count fiber and calories!" So, I created a nifty chart on Excel to do all of this, with a separate box for daily go... Tue, 12 Apr 2011 18:36:52 EST A little help for the newbies! Thu, 31 Mar 2011 16:43:46 EST This might sound weird but... This might sound weird but I don't think I'm eating enough carbs. I don't function well on too many carbs and when I "dieted" with too many carbs, I was ALWAYS starving. So, I tried low carb and I couldn't stand the extra calories and I gained weight. I'm pretty active and exercise about 6 days per week. So the BFC moderated carb intake works well for me.

However, sometimes I revert back to my old "low carb" ways and will do 1 carb for breakfast and one for lunch and end up only u... Mon, 21 Mar 2011 13:16:00 EST End of week 3 on BFC I have gained 30 lbs over the past year- I blame it on stress, a bout of anxiety and just being plain lazy. So here I am trying something new.

My DH and I started BFC 3 and a half weeks ago. We LOVE this way of eating. I felt so much better within the first week on it. I lost 5 lbs in two weeks, but then joined Jorge's FT program and lost 10 lbs on that. So far I've kept the 15 lbs off and am somewhat continuing the FT/BFC.

I'm sort of stalled at this point, but I have a lot of physical problems that hinder my weight loss anyway....

I love the ... Wed, 9 Mar 2011 16:44:22 EST Need encourag ment...I got off track today!!! :( I know that looking better and feeling better should be motivation enough. I guess what I need at the moment is encouragement. I really bombed today. I guess we just have to get back on track and not punish ourselves with negative self talk. It's just that sometimes my mind gets the better of me or I get bored. I know I can do this. Has this happened to any of you? How did you get through/over it? Tue, 8 Mar 2011 15:42:33 EST BFC for me!! Hey BFCers! I have been on the BFC for three weeks....doing pretty good thus far. I lost 7lbs and 3 3/4 belly inches in the first 7 days....since then I have gained 2 back (ugh)...the inches seem to stay the same though, I haven't gained any of those back. :) I love this new lifestyle...I have made so many changes that I never thought possible and I feel great! I am struggling with digestive irregularity but I am hoping that comes with time. I also discovered just exactly how bad artificial s... Fri, 4 Mar 2011 10:36:10 EST Atkins bars? Does anyone indulge in these? They are literally like candy. My favorite, the chocolate peanut butter bar, has 22g carbs, 10g fiber, 1g sugar, and 0g sugar alcohol. They're big, so if I had one, I'd eat less than a whole one to keep it within a carb serving. Obviously Jorge is not going to endorse an Atkins-brand product, but I wonder if these have any place in the BFC.

Thanks,
-- Madolyn Wed, 2 Mar 2011 17:36:35 EST How do I count wine? Jorge's book lists red wine as 0/1 for a 5-oz. glass. Does each serving count as a carb serving? I am really confused about the actual carb counts in red wine (pinot noir, to be specfic).

I went to a dinner party last night, and the pinot noir was flowing ... I had three glasses! Not a typical Tuesday night for me, but it was a friend's big birthday celebration. The food was excellent, and very BFC-friendly. (Passed hors d'oeuvres were grilled scallops, lamb chops, and the m... Wed, 2 Mar 2011 17:02:16 EST March Green and Weekly Challenge! Hey everyone it's March and since this month is St patricks day which means green....I thought it would be a great challenge to eat a green veggie at least once a week or maybe even twice a week. Go big and try and eat something green every day of the week. I know for me this will be a challenge since I am not a big veggie eater like I need to be and the green ones are really good for you.

The 2nd challenge I would like you to do is make your own challenge each and every week and ... Mon, 28 Feb 2011 23:06:40 EST Hello All! I just joined this forum, and I'm happy to have found it. I have been reading the Me and Jorge blog, and Amber let me know about this group.

A little background:

I am in my mid-forties (closer to 50 than 40!) and am probably at my all-time high weight. I have gained and lost the same 25 pounds a number of times in my adult life. I had success twice with Weight Watchers, but I've been reluctant to do their program again. I struggle with how they restrict fat; in the e... Mon, 28 Feb 2011 20:18:42 EST Jorge's FAQ Page on Facebook re carbs I was surfing Facebook's Belly Fat Cure page and I saw this excerpt from Jorge's FAQ section about do you have to eat all the sugars allowed:

"You can certainly eat fewer than 15 grams of sugar a day, but you should try to have 6 servings of whole-grain carbs every day. If you’re trying to accelerate your weight loss, I suggest eating all of your carbs before 3 P.M. (eat them with breakfast and lunch or as snacks, but not with dinner)."

From this excerpt, I believe... Mon, 28 Feb 2011 13:33:39 EST Question about tracking S/C I am not sure if I am following Jorge's instructions or not. Are we supposed to be counting the foods that have only 1 or 2 carbs or less and then if something has 15, we are to add in the 2 previously used and add up to 17? I had wanted to get away from tracking every single food the way Weight Watchers requires. Adding up all these amounts can get mind boggling and time consuming.

I have been only writing down 10 nuts and left it at 0/0. If I had 1/4 cup of something like... Sun, 27 Feb 2011 18:29:12 EST Sorry, but Barleans Swirl is awful! Finally found a health food store near me that carried Barleans Strawberry Swirl. I opened it today and I think it is awful! I wasted $18 on this. I cannot believe Jorge recommends it. I would rather take a few slices of a srawberry and mash them and swirl it into ricotta or yogurt. I am really disappointed. Maybe it would be okay in a smoothie where the flavor can be hidden. Anyone else happy with this product?
Sun, 27 Feb 2011 18:11:46 EST New to Team I am new to this team. I started on the Belly Fat Cure plan a week ago today. I weighed myself 02/26/11 and lost 3.5 lbs so far. I love this plan. I will be honest and say that someties I do think that I want something sweet that I really do not want. I just figure a way to have something that will satisfy that desire and stay on the plan. I look forward to reading all the of interesting threads and learning from you all! Sun, 27 Feb 2011 17:31:25 EST Diet Coke? Diet Coke is my ONLY indulgence, and has been for months that I was on WW. I know it's "belly bad", but since it's 0/0 can I still drink it and have success on the program? If I have to give it up, I have to give it up....but I reeeeeally don't want to! Sun, 27 Feb 2011 00:30:29 EST Disneyland? Hey all - I'm going to Disneyland next week, and I would like to stay on plan. Anyone have any experience/suggestions with this type of trip? I've got small children, so taking a cooler to DL isn't really an option. I've got enough to take care of. And we aren't taking a car or anything, so I'm traveling *really* light. Thu, 24 Feb 2011 17:54:25 EST March Madness Hey everyone March is just around the corner and just for fun I would like to see something for St. Patricks day or something green on our Sparkpages....everyone enjoys seeing them and maybe even add a picture or two! I challenge you! Wed, 23 Feb 2011 21:01:25 EST Meatloaf Anyone? My family loves meatloaf. My recipe (which is delicious of course-brown sugar and catscup) is not BFC friendly. Anyone have a favorite to share? 4 Tue, 22 Feb 2011 13:42:04 EST Jorge's Website I find it odd that Jorge does not have a very active website. I have been at other diet book websites and they usually are brimed with recipes and message boards to help the new people. For example, the book Primal Blueprint has a website which is called, It is similar to this forum where people who are using that diet plan can help others and share thoughts and recipes. I find it rather unthinkable that he has this successful diet plan yet he is not magnanimous enou... Sat, 19 Feb 2011 10:17:06 EST Cholesterol levels up - now what? I'm a bit frustrated. I had my cholesterol levels checked and my the bad LDL went up 11 points in 3 month. I've been more than faithful to the BFC and I have lost weight & inches. I'm so happy about that. My problem is that heart disease runs in my family. The low carb low sugar plan DID reduce my blood sugar levels into the normal level. That is a big success as I am no longer pre-diabetic. But now I have to alter my eating again. But you all know that using the low fat versions of many ... Sat, 19 Feb 2011 09:47:00 EST March Challenge It is getting close to set a new challenge. Excruciating upper abdomen pain after having sauteed broccoli and green peppers w/grilled chicken for lunch. I took an antacid, used baking soda twice. I had to sit up in bed to go to sleep, so it lasted until who knows? I've had this years ago when eating raw onions, but its been a very long time ago. I must eat my veggies Right?? I finally ate 2 eggs very late last night. Anyone have anything similar happen to them?

39 Tue, 15 Feb 2011 10:23:53 EST Tracking sugar on SP Maybe I'm thick and can't find it. But is it possible to track sugar grams on SparkPeople? I saw where I can track "other nutrients" but sugar isn't one of them.

I'm new to the BFC and trying to keep track of everything in one place.

Thanks! Mon, 14 Feb 2011 14:25:07 EST Fage Greek Yogurt I have a question regarding Fage Green Yogurt. I know Jorge uses it in a few recipes and when I went to purchase it I found that all the varieties, 0%, 2% or 5% fat had 9 grams of sugar and 9 carbs for a full cup. The 9 carbs is not the problem, but the 9 grams of sugar is. Do any of you make those parfaits he has in the book? Mon, 14 Feb 2011 11:48:46 EST Jorge's Creamy Chicken Alfredo Pasta I just tried one of the recipes in his book Belly Fat Cure. I hope I did it correctly. I weighed 2 ounces of Whole Wheat Linquine - which was 35g and 1 g sugar. The recipe called for 6 ozs. for 4 people. I used Ragu Alfredo Sauce that he recommended and used only 1/4 cup with chicken broth, and a cup of broccoli, and some chicken cutlets I had made last night. It was a huge amount of food even with only the 2 ozs. of pasta. His count with using the full amount was 4/2 and he also had ... Tue, 1 Feb 2011 06:57:47 EST Anyone track calories on BFC? Do any of you count calories on BFC along with sugar and carb blocks? I'm considering doing this to help with weight loss. My idea is to sort of combine Cruse's 3 Hour Diet idea of 400 calorie meals and 100 calorie snacks with the carb/sugar blocks. I've started playing with this and the numbers don't see too daunting. Plus, I feel good phsysically on this program, so calorie restricting is a bit easier. I'm thinking this will put me at about 1400-1500 calories per day.

Has anyone... Just wandering why we seem to struggle with this. I know for me when I dont see the numbers on the scale drop I think what is the use....but you know if I go back to the way it was I would be heading back up on the it really does not make sense for me to think that funny! Sat, 8 Jan 2011 19:52:26 EST What will you wear? Hey everyone I was just wondering what do you plan on wearing once you lose the weight? When I was a weight watcher member they asked us to visualize ourselves at our weight loss goal and what we would be wearing and I thought about it. Most people in the class said a little black dress but not me....the tom boy in me said 550 levi's with a little white shirt tucked in. I dont know if my choice now days would be levi's but I really want a cute pair of jeans like the younger girls wear now day... Wed, 5 Jan 2011 21:06:20 EST Rewards Hi-is anyone rewarding themselves for losing weight? I would love to hear ideas or what you are doing for yourself. This could have gone under the motivation topic but I just wanted to hear specifically what you are rewarding yourself with. Of course losing weight is a great reward itself 334
At first I decided I would get myself a little something or do some pampering for every 10 pounds and then I thought every 5 pounds would be much better! 211 So after I have lost... Wed, 5 Jan 2011 08:46:16 EST I finally figured thi s out!!! Well...I have been doing BFC for the last 2 months and lost a little weight and then gained it all back during the holidays.

I have just had a revelation- I have not kept track of my s/c values thinking I could do it in my head- today I have kept track - even weighing things to be exact and ....WOW HAVE I BEEN OFF WITH MY CALCULATIONS!!!!

I am in amazement- especially with my peanut intake- I think I have been eating 3 carb meals of them a day and counted them as one... Tue, 4 Jan 2011 14:00:57 EST Any ideas for a substitute for Starbucks Lattes? I am a Starbucks addict! I am and not for their coffee. I love the wonderfully delicious lattes, an and all of them. Prior to BFC I had already given up the regular sugary lattes and replaced them with a venti sugar free caramel soy latte or sometimes a venti soy chai latte.

So, this has been my biggest struggle on BFC so far and I know if I am going to sustain this long term, I need to find a substitute that is satisfying. Today I tried a vanilla caramel tea (found at the stor... Sun, 2 Jan 2011 19:57:46 EST The fast track I was just wondering if any of you guys are following the fast track or just the original BFC plan? Sun, 2 Jan 2011 13:36:58 EST Ideas! Please post any ideas you might have for any up coming challenges or just anything you might want to see on our team that would help you on your weigh loss journey. 30 Sat, 1 Jan 2011 15:31:48 EST New Year! New You! Hey everyone I will be the first to start off our new challenge. I have a goal I want to make over the next 3 months to lose 15lbs but I am going to take it 1 month at a time. Fri, 31 Dec 2010 12:06:19 EST Recipes Hey BFC team....this year I am going to challenge you to please post your recipes. It can be new, old or something you just put together yourself. I just got some new cookware for Christmas and I want to be able to use them. I have never been one to cook alot. They use to call me queen of the frozen meal. But since starting the BFC I have not touched a frozen meal. But to be honest I eat alot of the same old things day in and day out. So I am hoping to get some new ideas and recipes....Please... Thu, 30 Dec 2010 15:41:03 EST truvia Has anyone that uses truvia had problems with bloat from using it? I switched from regular stevia to the truvia I like the taste but since I started using it I've been really bloated. Just trying to figure out if its the truvia or something else. Thu, 30 Dec 2010 09:23:45 EST Hello Everyone =) I will be starting the BFC within the next couple of days and I need a go-to spot for insight and motivation. It will also be interesting to see how all of you are doing it. I've tried it before, but fell off. It WAS an easy diet. At times it was so easy that it felt wrong lol I was not able to afford (or access) some of the foods listed in the book, so I pretty much stuck to the 15/6 rule and made out okay. What I got from the book is that there are no forbidden foods, and that I'm able to p... Mon, 27 Dec 2010 07:51:52 EST Next Challenge Thanks everyone who participated in the 12 days before challenge. I think each and everyone of you are so motivating to me and a great inspiration. Fri, 17 Dec 2010 20:50:50 EST Dreamfields Pasta Does anyone know much about Dreamfields pasta? They say that only 5 of the 41 grams per serving are digestible. Many people have added this product to the SparkPeople food choices, but they always count all the carbs.

I just bought some and it was delicious, but I'd like to know how to count it.

_pasta_stores_list.php?state=all

Let me know what you think or if this pasta is ever mentioned by Jorge Cruise.
<... Wed, 15 Dec 2010 00:02:39 EST Jorge's YouTube videos Great resource! I don't know if you guys have watched them or not, but they are a great resource and he answers so many of our questions in them. Now that I've finished reading her book, I would like to recommend that you grab a copy if you haven't already. Put it at the top of your Christmas wish list! This book is THE BEST book I've ever read on weight loss and maintenance. It does not matter what weight loss plan you use. Like the book says at the bottom of the front cover, "The must-have companion to ANY weight-loss program." She gives excellent, practical, and realistic advice, ... I am learning more and more that people lose there motivation after being on a diet for awhile. As a team leader I see people come and go and I really dont want that to keep happening. We are right around the corner from a new year and we will see a rise in people at gyms and weightloss teams and then see a drop. How can we motivate each other to keep us on track? Thu, 9 Dec 2010 21:43:14 EST Vitamins Are we getting all our vitamins in? I for the longest time did not take any vitamins. I just started awhile ago. I just take womens one a day and vitamin D, started using fish oil daily too. Wed, 8 Dec 2010 01:09:07 EST Up coming challenges and how will you cope? I know we all have been having some struggles with this Holiday season. I also know we have parties and food seems to be everywhere to tempt us. How are we going to handle these situations without going overboard? I have a christmas party to attend next weekend and they rent out half a bowling alley, so much fun. I really dont care to much for the food they serve since they are not to formal and in a bowling alley you cant expect fancy food. So the food should not be to hard to avoid but dess... Sun, 5 Dec 2010 12:38:07 EST Whey Low: Have you tried it? I've been using Truvia, but it just lacks something to me, so I went on a search for other sweeteners and came across something called Whey Low. Has anyone used it? I'm getting mixed messages about it. They sell it at Whole Foods, so maybe I'll get some and try it.

Sat, 4 Dec 2010 23:54:06 EST Can we track sugar grams on the nutrition tracker? I don't see it listed as a nutrient, but I'm hoping someone knows something I don't. :) Thu, 2 Dec 2010 20:44:47 EST Thanks Hey everyone thanks to all who participated in the November Challenge. Please let me know if I missed giving you a spark goodie for participating. I cant wait until our up coming challenge. I really enjoyed the last one. I met some really great people and felt good giving out compliments and goodies. Thanks again. Thu, 2 Dec 2010 20:11:30 EST Fiber In the begininng I was counting my fiber grams as well as time has gone on I really have not done this. It will be my goal to start this again. I really think this is so important to get our fiber in for the day since low carb diets are not to high in fiber. I have always had problems with going to the bathroom (TMI) but I think if I start getting back the fiber this might help. How do you guys get your fiber in? I used benefiber but I have heard super seed is a good way to get it in. Thu, 2 Dec 2010 13:10:06 EST 15/6?? How are you guys doing with this? Are you really only consuming six grams of carbs? Wed, 1 Dec 2010 21:34:12 EST Welcome New Members Just want to welcome all my newest members. Some of you do not have a spark page so I was not able to welcome you, but I am so glad you have joined the BFC team. Please feel free to post any questions or comments. 235 Wed, 1 Dec 2010 01:34:27 EST Dining Out Tomorrow is hub's b-day and a possible dinner out at a restaurant. This will be my first meal out since I've just started BFC - yikes! The temptations are already scaring me lol. What do you all do in these situations? Do you have a safe 'go-to' meal? Stick with a simple protein veggie? Order breakfast (eggs) instead?

Ok, I know I'm in a bit of a Any advice? Thanks so much for any ideas!!
4 Tue, 30 Nov 2010 20:49:29 EST December Ideas LatteGal and I have been talking back and fourth about good ideas for a December Challenge. We'd like to also ask you guys if you have any ideas of things you'd like to do for the December challenge. We are thinking of one thing to do per day and it can be motivational, supportive, meeting new people, making a new meal, etc. Do any of you have anything you'd like to do? Please let us know and we may consider it for Decembers challenge. Thank you. Mon, 29 Nov 2010 20:13:10 EST Can this be right? So for breakfast I had 2/3 c of Nature's Path Organic Smart Bran. 6 sugars, 24 carbs. So that's 6/2. 13 fiber.

Then for lunch we're at McDonald's, so I look on the nutritional chart. Chicken selects (5), 0 sugars, 40 carbs. So that's 0/2.

Fried chicken comes out with a better BFC rating than a bowl of bran? Not that I don't like being told that I can eat fried chicken, but it just seems unlikely to me that I could ever expect to drop any weight with a system that works ... Sun, 28 Nov 2010 20:58:15 EST Hi Everyone!! I just wanted to say a quick hello and how excited I am to join your team!

I picked up BFC on a whim at Wal-Mart the other night and read it all in one sitting lol. I was horrified to realize just how much 'hidden' sugar I've been eating...and all in what I considered to be HEALTHY things! Grrr!

This is my day 3 and all is going so well! A few visits to the grocery store, etc, hoping I have everything I need for a successful week.

I am finding this pretty e... Sun, 28 Nov 2010 19:51:29 EST Ready to try something new! Hi! I heard about the Belly Fat Cure diet from my sister-in-law and my niece. I don't know much about it yet, except that you limit sugar to 15g a day and carbs to 150g a day. Does that sound about right?

I've tried lots of different diets over the years and had finally decided to just forget about it and be happy with who I am, but this piqued my interest. I'm willing to give it another go! I know Christmas is right around the corner, but I hope I can make it work this time.
... Sun, 28 Nov 2010 18:47:58 EST Team Co-leader Hey everyone I just wanted to introduce to you my daughter Courtney who I have asked to help me co-lead the BFC team. She has been follow the BFC team for a little while and has seen some great changes. Since we are growing by leaps and bounds I needed the extra support. So please welcome her and I hope we can keep growing and keep supporting each other. 244 Sun, 28 Nov 2010 16:38:00 EST Newbie with questions So I bought the book last night and I am very excited to start. I think I am over analyzing thought. So do I simply track sugars and carbs that's it? I mean is there I sample day as far as how to set up your meals? Or do you just pick what ever and make sure you don't consume more than the 15/6 for the day? I am wanting to follow meal plans either his or make my own because lack of planning is where I always fail! But say I don't have time to make one of his breakfasts do I need to make sure ... Sun, 28 Nov 2010 15:30:24 EST Did you survive? Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving and enjoyed time with friends and family. What did you do with your left overs? Are we back on track? Hope everyone is focused on our goals. I went out yesterday for black Friday shopping man or man I did not know what craziness there was. I did not get to much since I could not handle the crowds. Next year I think I will order from the internet! Sat, 27 Nov 2010 12:14:03 EST How did you do this Thanksgiving? So, how well did you resist the temptations this Thanksgiving?

I think I did pretty well. Had dinner at my Aunt's. There were 18 of us and we each brought a different part of the meal. Some brought 2 or 3 things. I came away from dinner satisfied, but not overfull. I put a spoonful of each casserole & vegetable dish on my plate, had a nice sized slice of ham and turkey. I brought 2 slivers of pie home (made about 1/2 piece)and had them when I was ready for a sweet. I load... Thu, 25 Nov 2010 20:45:45 EST How are you calculating meals? I had used so many diet plans over the years and I still had their rules in my head. Jorge's rules are simple. Keep your sugar to carb ration at 15/6. Forget about the calories. I keep trying to count calories, or convert it to weight watchers point. So, now I'm logging what I eat at SP but only paying attention to the carbs. It's unfortunate that SP doesn't track sugar but I keep track of that in ... Thu, 18 Nov 2010 23:45:45 EST Finally ready! I think? Hello, I'm finally ready to really try this. Hi everyone,

I'm STILL waiting for my book to be delivered (ordered it 3 weeks ago, but things takes ages "down under".) I've been trying to follow the plan based on reading all the resources online and tracking my sugar/carbs/fiber on a spreadsheet... so far, not a lot of success.

I lost 10 lbs before starting the BFC just by cutting out all processed foods - sugar, flour, wheat, etc. - basically doing a diet similar to Phase 1 of South Beach (for those who know it)...
