On my work days I average 5000-6000 steps in a day. Sometimes on crazy days, I will surpass 10000. I'm trying to categorize my activity for counting fitness calories against my total calorie intake for SP. I did 10700 steps today, and it says I should eat 3300 calories. My doctor wants me to walk 30 minutes each day. I find my Fitbit is helping me. So far I can only manage about 20 minutes, 5 days per week, but I feel confident I will succeed.

Good Luck to everyone. However, I then changed my mind about something, deleted the food on my Spark tracker and added the alternative. Now both foods appear on the Fitbit and I can't seem to figure out how to delete. This is the first time I do something like this so I am not sure how it goes. I need to lose weight. I want to lose weight. However, I am succumbing to temptations. I am also dealing with a very slow metabolism because I am going through a medical induced menopause. I work out 3 to 4 times a week for about 45 minutes, mostly cardio. I do not think exercising is my problem, eating is my problem. Any words of encouragement are appreciated.

Elsa Tue, 15 Nov 2016 14:17:34 EST New member to this team http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x36986x65606111 Hi there !

I hope all is well in your worlds ! I'm returning to spark and fitbit after quite a few months off. I had syncing issues before so we'll see if that returns or not. I also am not sure if I like how Spark takes into consideration the amount of calories burned according to my fitbit when it comes to my calorie allowance. I know when you exercise more you need more calories but both the calories burned and the calorie intake allowed seem too high for me. I'm thinking about turning of that feature. One way I have fun with mine is doing challenges. I volunteer in the P.E. department at the local elementary school. Both the P.E. teacher and the P.E. assistant have Fitbits. Every so often, we do a one-day step challenge. And, when we do, we really push each other. Sometimes I think the kids think we're nuts!

If you have any fun ways to add steps to your Fitbit, please let me know! I started looking at less expensive activity trackers to replace the fitbit, but there are so many out there and I'm wondering if anyone has a specific recommendation. I would like it to cost less than $40. Thanks in advance. I decided to log everything as I normally behave to see my starting points. I am consistently walking over 12,000 steps, 10,000 at work in a five hour period. I am consistently burning about 700 calories more than I take in. Theoretically, something has to be off, right? Is it my steps or calories burned? I am about 60 pounds over weight.
