I am from Louisiana and im 48 yrs old. I have a few goals that I am trying to accomplish to better my health and become more active in exercising. I came across the website and also heard about it from a few friends. So he referred me to cardiology. I just got back from seeing my new cardiologist, and my husband said to him about not really knowing how accurate the heart rate monitor on the fitbit was. He actually said it's pretty good technology.

Anyway, now I get to go for an echo-cardiogram and to be fitted with a real heart rate monitor for a 2 week reading. Just thought I'd pass ... If I walk, hike, use the treadmill or elliptical, I just let fitbit log the activity. It shows up on sparkpeople as "all day activity". I have been entering my strength training exercise on SparkPeople, but not on fitbit, assuming that fitbit would sync the activity over. I assumed the same thing with swimming. But today I noticed that it didn't seem to pick up either the strength training or swimming.
... But I just wanted to track that I was walking or doing the elliptical, or whatever it was. Do you just leave the active minutes alone from the fitbit connection, or is there a way to show how those minutes were used? It would just be nice to look back and see that I was being active at the gym or I was being active at the park or whatever. Just curious. MFP compared my Fitbit burn to what MFP expected based on my BMR, stated activity level, and any exercise logged on MFP. The Fitbit adjustment was intended to correct for my non-exercise activity level.

I don't see that option here, and it seems to me tha... Sun, 18 Oct 2015 10:29:14 EST Greetings! http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x36986x62750701 I've just started to work toward fitness. Got a new hip in January so I'm trying to get on track. I'm up to 8,000 steps a day. Hoping to increase over the next weeks. Thu, 15 Oct 2015 20:43:30 EST Fitbit Charge HR Questions about Heart Rate http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x36986x62732206 I've been hard at it for about one month. I get my 10,000 steps daily. Been eating clean, etc. For the first 3 weeks of this it has been almost impossible for me to get to the "peak" Heart rate during exercise. (for me that's a brisk walk, a couple times a day.) Most of my walk would fall under "cardio". At best during this time I might of gotten 3 peak minutes a day, and heart rate average would be about 125 for the walk.

This past weekend I was exhausted and I didn't do anything... What are your thoughts? I wear a watch, can I wear the charge/HR on my left wrist with my watch? I like my fitbit one, but forget to track my sleep with it, plus sometimes leave home without it and that drives me crazy for the day! lol Thoughts anyone?

Tue, 13 Oct 2015 11:38:56 EST Syncing my fit bit to my new computer http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x36986x62729778 Hi all, I hope someone can help me. My Dell laptop crashed about 3 weeks ago. I had to get a new computer last week. I have synced my fit bit but it is not collecting my data. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting. It has the number of steps but not the distance, or sleep or calories burned. Anyone know what I need to do to fix this? Let me know. I was so excited about it. I wore it all evening and overnight. I like all the features, and it seems to work well, but it feels and looks really bulky. I also can't get the music feature to work but I'm hoping that's just a temporary problem. I like that I get phone and text notifications on there. And that it is integrated with spark people, and does a good job tracking my steps, heart rate, sleep, and even stairs. I think I might retur... I had no choice but to return it.
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with a Fitbit Zip or Fitbit One. I'm now looking for a different tracker. It either has to be of a different wristband from the HR or one not worn on the wrist. Any input would be appreciated. I notice that while I walk and get my steps and workouts in, it adds it to my fitness tracker and then my calories go up. Is this a good idea. Should I really be eating as many calories as its saying? One day I walked over 10,000 steps and it said I should eat like 2,000 calories. 29 Sun, 12 Jul 2015 09:57:01 EST Weekly Goal 7/12/15 to 7/19/15 http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=16426x36986x61988379 5,000 per day total 35,000 Sun, 12 Jul 2015 06:08:20 EST Howdy! http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x36986x61984300 I got my purple Fitbit Charge HR a few months ago.
