I was wondering is this book really good to get or not? I'm a pretty picky eater and I never seem to have a lot of time to cook food but I'm trying to get away from all or most processed food. I've been good at staying away from processed food but yet i'm not making a lot of different foods even though they are healthier.

Are her foods mainly things with veggies or is there some examples as just wondering wro... I was going to get Jillian Michael's Master Your Metabolism because I really feel like my hormones are out of whack. Then I came across two other books that seemed interesting. Tosca Reno's The Eat-Clean Diet Recharged and Jackie Warner's This Is Why You're Fat (And How to Get Thin Forever). Has anyone read more than one of these? I want to know how they compare to each other. I'd like to buy all three, but not sure if i... I get up around 6, am at work by 6:30, and try to eat by 6:45. So that would mean I need to eat at 10:45, and then again at 2:45 and then 6:45, and that would be my last meal because of not eating after 8 pm (I say 8 for me because I like to be in bed by 9, so I wouldn't be eating after 9 :p)

I guess it's not as problematic as it seemed in my head :p I just need to figure out what to eat at those times :p
<B... She did not mention anything in MYM about Nitrates so when I was cooking my turkey bacon this morning, I read the ingredients and it had sodium nitrate in it! curious, I looked it up on the web and this is what I ... Sat, 1 Jan 2011 13:14:32 EST 2011 Use less plastics Challenge http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x32652x38782679 Ok 2011 can be the year we all make changes in plastic consumption and cooking/storing food in plastics. Plastics contain yucky chemicals that leak into our foods and our earth and cause changes to our hormones via endocrine distrupters.

So let's discuss and challenge ourselves to alternatives. Sat, 1 Jan 2011 13:12:56 EST 2011 Eat more Organic Challenge http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x32652x38782612 Happy New Year to everyone!

I'd like to challenge everyone to use more organic foods in 2011. I don't think it's possible to do 100% because not everything is easy to find in organic, but I think it's possible to do a fairly high percentage of your food and drinks as organic. I know not everyone lives in a place where organics are accesible, but I'm hoping we can discuss and come up with some ideas for everyone.

Who is up for the challenge? Join me! It seems like every time I use any shampoo or conditioner from a drugstore, my scalp starts to itch like crazy! I'm thinking that I should go for organic shampoo & conditioner instead, and I figured I might as well pick up some organic body and hand washes as well. Any recommendations?

Thanks!
Fri, 1 Oct 2010 09:23:00 EST Do you ever treat yourself? And with what? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x32652x36834781 I was wondering if you treat yourself in moderation every day, or do you eat clean Mon-Fri and then treat yourself on weekends/special occasions? As for me, I tend to binge on weekends if I eat clean Mon-Fri, so I allow myself one treat every day. But all this sugar (Newman's Own peanut butter cups) is not good for my PCOS, so I was wondering what you all indulge in? I would love some ideas.
4 Tue, 21 Sep 2010 17:02:59 EST Damaged Metabolism?? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x32652x36394070 I have over 125 lbs to lose, yet find my weekly weight lose very slow. I don't have a big enough kitchen in my apartment to do so, so this would be a huge time-saver. Anyone following this plan? The combination of foods seem like something I already follow pretty closely, just with a few adjustments. So this should be an easier plan for me to follow. Anyone have luck with this? I bought Jillian's Master Your Metabolism Cookbook today and decided to look for a team for support. This looks like a great team, so here I am.

I'm 55 and have been with SP for a couple of very up and down years. Menopause is wreaking havoc on my diet and my willpower. I'm unemployed and have been for almost two years, so the cost of Jillian's program is not an option. Her book seems to make a lot of sense, so looking forward to getting healthier! The only alternative I can think of is that I garden a large area of my grandparents' lawn (my husband and I live in an apartment and don't have a lawn), and produce organic produce that way. Line a colander with a thin clean cloth. Place the colander inside a bowl, making sure that the colander has a few inches from touching the bottom of the bowl. Simply empty a quart of your favorite low fat (not fat free) yogurt into the cloth lined colander. Let it rest in the fridge for 4 - 12 hours. Just throw out the whey that gathers in the bottom bowl. So much cheaper than buying greek yogurt. We use low fat stonyfield organi... I just started the program today, and I am also doing weight watchers. My goal is to follow the meal plans in the book, however, I don't know if it is enough calories. I didn't add them up yet, but I put the meals into my weight watchers tracker and I only am using 14.5 out of my 22 daily points... doesn't seem right. I kinda rushed through the book, maybe I missed something? Any advice would be appreciated! Wed, 27 May 2009 15:36:05 EST Hi from the Smokies! http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x32652x25824884 Hi, my name is Linda and I live in Franklin NC, an hour west of Asheville. It's a cute little town but our shopping choices are really limited. On the plus side, the locals have a self-sufficient mentality and a lot of them grow their own food, much of the veggies are organic or heirloom and many of the dairy and meat products are free range or grass-fed. I'm excited about supporting the local economy.

I ordered the book from Jillian's site as well as her two newest videos (Bani... Thu, 21 May 2009 10:21:49 EST Hey from Wisconsin http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x32652x25692827 I just bought got this book in the mail a few days ago. I skipped a few of the chapters to get to the meat and bones of the book. It seems like a smart plan so far. I am trying to lose weight, but I'm hopefull that if I start eating right, exercising and treating my body right, the weight will come off as a bonus of trying to be healthy. I have a toddler at home so small changes work better.

First goal- no more soda.

I have really started to look at labels even more that before. I made a great fruit salad this weekend. The family loved it. I bought Jillian's book yesterday and I'm devouring it. It makes so much sense to me.

Two years ago, I lost 86 pounds and have been frustrated by the last 15-20 ever since. I look forward to the discussions on the team threads. I'm hopeful that the answer to the "final frontier" is within sight! Sun, 17 May 2009 11:38:58 EST Organic on a budget http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x32652x25480939 I recently purchased this book and I am lovin' it. It is truly an eye-opener! We are a family of 5 and it is very difficult to eat properly when on a budget. I looked at the organic milk today at the grocery store and couldn't believe my eyes. It was $4.35 per half gallon! The gallon of regular FF milk is $2.29. If I switch to organic milk, I would be paying almost $20 per week ($80 per month!) on just milk. That is crazy! I plan to go to Walmart this week and see how much it is there.... He can't seem to understand why I want to spend that much money on it, lol. He thinks I should get a regular juicer. I'm trying to explain that we don't need to get rid of the fiber and best part of the juice (the most nutritious). I listen to Jillian on itunes all the time she is pretty much my hero.

I am a 35 year old, trying to lose way over 100#'s, but doing it as a life style change, not another diet...so it's seems to be going slowly, but that's o.k. as long as it's going down.

I have been trying to reduce the HFCS for awhile (it's in everything!!!) and eat more organic when I can....
