I've started to plan out dinners for the two weeks, as well, which helps me avoid eating out as much.
I'm debating planning out lunches, as well. How far out do you plan lunches? Fri, 5 Mar 2010 09:19:00 EST Salad, Salad, and More Salad I have been eating the same type of salad for the past two and a half weeks and I was beginning to get bored. I'd put together romaine lettuce, grape tomatoes and a tablespoon of vinaigrette dressing. Sounds delicious doesn't it? I was following the strict diet plan but I was getting tired of it so I decided to try something different. I had some salsa and some ground turkey and tortilla chips. I made a low calorie taco salad. The key was 1/2 cup of ground turkey and limited to only 5 tortila... I am trying not to weigh myself everyday but I find myself agonizing over every little pound and half pound. It does not help that the scale is in the room next door. I have lost 11 pounds so far and thank God the last weigh in is next week. I wonder how do those people on the Biggest Loser handle that. They must be stressed out of their minds. Maybe I'm making too much of this... Thu, 25 Feb 2010 10:17:16 EST newbie to the group Hi I am Gretchen and yes I have 3 kids and live in Ohio!! Hi all,
I am joining this group b/c I need some fun, creative and, of course, healthy ideas for lunch. I just got a Bento lunch box as my 5# weight loss reward, and now I'd like to focus on eating well at lunch. I'm a high school teacher (with no cafeteria at my private school) so I always pack my lunch. Usually it is leftovers, but that gets boring at times, so I rely on pnb/jelly sandwiches....but that, too, doesn't inspire. I want to celebrate my lunch time meal and truly enjoy it. I ... Fri, 19 Feb 2010 21:10:11 EST USING LUNCH HOUR WISELY I find that while the lunch hour is primarily for eating, an hour is a very long time to just sit and gab with a few other co-workers five days a week. This week, I've found a corner to myself and listened to an audiobook. It relaxes me, I love the opportunity to get in a few more pages, and I don't have to listen to mindless chatter! I think I'll try to mix it up and try something new next week. Fri, 19 Feb 2010 17:43:21 EST yes to healthy lunch! Just thought I'd introduce myself. A healthy lunch at work is day is definitely one of my goals. I find I work much better. Luckily for me, even on those days when I don't pack lunch or when I really, really don't want what I pack for lunch there are some good options in the cafeteria. Sun, 28 Jun 2009 18:47:50 EST Hi from Jacksonville, FL! Lunchtime is probably my biggest obstacle! Between frequent outings to local fast food restaurants and the lure of the vending machine, I definitely struggle Monday thru Friday at work! I'm really looking forward to getting ideas and motivation from people on this team! =) 180 Sun, 28 Jun 2009 10:25:31 EST Hi Hi I am new to the group and to SP. This is a great group. Always need new ideas to spice up a packed lunch. It is too expensive to eat out everyday and the same old lunches can get boring. Look forward to reading more ideas Sun, 28 Jun 2009 09:04:47 EST New to this team. Hi Everyone! I am new to the team but have been on Spark since Feb. (3rd time around). I just reset all my goals and am joining new teams to motivate me. I bring my lunch to work every day. I am looking for new ideas for things to bring. I don't really get a lunch where I can leave as I eat at my desk and still work during lunch. So no walking at lunch. Otherwise look forward to sharing ideas with everyone.

Sheila Sat, 27 Jun 2009 22:04:22 EST Whar did you have for lunch today? This is a great way to get awesome ideas. Hi, my name is Tess. I've been a spark member for a week now. This website is amazing! I am a former smoker (quit 2/1/09) and I've been floundering trying to find something to take up my lunch hour besides smoking. I started walking during lunch and that was great till summer came. Because I work in an office, profusely sweating during a 40 minute walk became a problem. But now that I've found this group I have great new idea's of how to spend my lunch inside, where it's cooler, not sweating ... Wed, 24 Jun 2009 11:34:28 EST Just found this team Hi from the road. Mon, 22 Jun 2009 15:48:53 EST Hey, I am new to this Hi, my name is Samantha and I am new to this site. I think this team will be very helpful, because when it comes to making healthy meals I am not imaginative beyond low cal tv dinners. Mon, 22 Jun 2009 11:07:05 EST Hey Everyone! new to this team! This is a great idea. I used to walked during lunch everyday and sit one of the many awesome parks to get some sun and have a healthy lunch but lately I just got used to stopping in the caf and getting whatever and just sitting at my desk through lunch to stare at the computer screen (as if I hadn't seen it enough). So, yeah, I definitely need to be on this team! Sat, 20 Jun 2009 23:08:20 EST Hello all! Hi, my name is Kim and I'm excited to join this group because I think it's a great topic. I know for me that I can eat a great breakfast, but lunchtime usually gets me off track. So, I can't wait for some good ideas and to meet some new people! Sat, 20 Jun 2009 20:47:01 EST Going Out to for Lunch Today I met up with a few friends for lunch. It is a beautiful day and we decided to eat outside. Since it was so windy we quickly moved inside. Instead of leaning towards a healthy choice (there were not many at this place)I went for my usual chicken fingers and fries. It was like I could smell the yummy fries cooking and all my good intention to eat healthier went out the window. Just noticed this team & this is where I'll need lots of help 'cause I work in an office & am so used to going out for fast food, etc. Though I've been on a personal 30 day challenge (since 5/26) of saving $$ by not going out at lunch, but still working on the healthy brown bagging. Looking forward to this team.
Marcia Thu, 18 Jun 2009 14:28:26 EST Hi from Edmonton I'm in Edmonton (canada).
I am a huge fan of bringing lunch. Thu, 18 Jun 2009 11:25:27 EST New and hoping for ideas that get me motivated Lunch is the meal I abuse the most. It's just so easy to go grab some fast food or something unhealthy. Hard to take the time to make a lunch, or for that much for me to even get to the produce market to buy the things needed for a healthy lunch. But I know to lose the weight (like I did before) it will take me eating a good lunch (like I did before lol). So I have joined this team to get ideas and to get motivated.
Thanks in advance for all the help/support-SP is the best!
