I'm so excited. I finished the series. I enjoyed it tremendously. I'm anxious to see how the next two movies turn out. There's so many details and nuances that will be interesting to see on screen. I was pleased with the ending although the entire time I wasn't sure where it was going, but that's what keeps you turning the pages. 30

Hi! I'm Roxanne from Maine. I'm currently reading Betrayed by Nicky Charles. I love her books! I have a nook hd+ and I find I have read more since I've gotten my ereaders (I started off with a nook 1st edition, then a nook tablet and i recently upgraded to a nook hd+).

I wanted to slip in and say Hello! The Dr. put me back on prednisone which sent my blood sugar and weight rising again not to mention other nasty side effects. I just finished reading Adriana Trigiani's book "The Shoemaker's Wife". Loved it and the fairy tale quality of the story of her grandparents immigration to the US from Bari, Italy. My mouth was constantly watering when she'd describe the nuns' fresh baked bread, her grandmother's homemade (of course) gnocchi with rosemary, butter and garlic, and spaghetti pomodoro.

I just finished reading some reviews on Goodreads and the reviews were not kind. There are mainly 1 or 2 stars for the book; people are disappointed.

I read 2 different series where the main character is a cook and they provide recipes. I am just finishing Carrot Cake Murder by Joanne Fluke. It is the 10th in the Hannah Swensen series about a Minnesota based cookie store owner who solves murders on the side. The book is interspersed with the recipes mentioned in the book Most of them are for cookies or other deserts. This is not a healthy cooking book. I don't know if this has been posted before, I apologize if it has. I was possibly considering buying a HD nook from Barnes and Noble (or asking for one for Christmas). I have been against them ever since they came out since I love having the book in my hands. I love the fact that these devices can hold 1000's of books on them. I have just recently started reading some of Clive Cussler's books and have gotten completely hooked! Has anyone else read any of them? I am trying to figure out the order in which the Fargo series was written.

Cussler seems to have multiple series with a different main character for each. I've read "Golden Budda" with character Juan Cabrillo, "Serpent" with character Kurt Austin and the one I started with "The Kingdom" with characters Sam and Remi Fargo. Any comments or discussion...

Perhaps it is only in the Romance genre, but what is the deal with debut author's books being 400 pages?!?!? Are their editors too busy to cut out the useless parts?

Have others notice this also? In other genres? I don't have a problem with books that long if they flow but debuts usually don't.

I joined sp a while ago but it just wasn't the right timing for me to lose weight. Now the kids are back in school and I'm back and ready to focus on me :)

I'm a sahm to three kids from MI. I'm a voracious reader and I read on average around 25 books a month. Reading is actually part of the reason I've been gaining weight-too much snacking while I'm reading ugh. I like all types of genres, except for chick lit. I especially like YA, romance, fantasy, pnr and horror.

Just finished Matterhorn, a great novel set in '67 during the Viet Nam War. I highly recommend this book.

I joined this team because I have loved books and reading my whole life. I read a variety of books from biography, self help, romance especially time travel romance, cozy mysteries etc. I love trying new books that I normally wouldn't have chosen. Well, I'm always saying "Tomorrow. I'll start tomorrow." So, it is no shocker that I am still overweight. I gained all of my weight while I was pregnant and never really did much to get it off. I would start and never finish BeachBody programs, I ran a couple of times telling myself that I was determined to be a runner.... And I am not.. Yet.

I bought new sneaks around Christmas time because I had started, and was doing well on, a new get-healthy journey and those same sneaks...

I have been an on-again, off again Spark-er, and am now trying to get on-again. I moved to Chicago from Michigan about 9 months ago, and despite giving up my car and walking and/or using public transportation to get everywhere, I have managed to gain about 10 pounds, which puts me back in the "overweight" category. Well, depending on the day's weight fluctuations :)

In 2005, I was 210 pounds (I'm 5'7") and made some life changes that brought me down to 163, a size I hadn't been sin...

I'm a stay at home mom with a four year old. I have two adult children so this feels like a do over for me, which is kind of fun. I had to work when I had my older children and felt like I missed a lot of stuff. The only really bad thing is because of my age I worry about being here for my little one as she gets older. It just hit me that I could write a review about this book! I finished it about a week ago.

You know how sometimes Charlaine has these transition books? It felt like one of those to me. *mild spoiler* the first 50 pages take place at a male review night. Of course they're all fairies. But the only thing that came out of that is Claude owns the place and JB is now a male stripper. Fifty pages for that? Really?

This book was also more focused on fairies than on vamp...

For anyone new to our discussions, we consider books in the range of 350-400 pages and aren't a current bestseller. Should also be able to easily find a used copy to buy or loan from the library.

I'm a type one diabetic and since I've had it, I've been abusing it it numerous ways. I really want to get on track with that, as well as lose weight and just be overall healthy. I also want to try to be more of a vegetarian and hopefully take out most to all meats in my diet. I want to lower my cholesterol since it is a factor of concern with my family. I'd recommend reading the last book before this one. I was a little lost at the start because I had forgotten what happened, but that smoothed over really quick. And the beginning starts off slow (mild spoiler: fifty pages at a strip show? Really?). But after that hump, the action picked up and then it was pure Sookie fun.

Hello fellow bookworms!

I am starting over AGAIN with SparkPeople. I have had two other accounts and I always get off track. Suffice it to say, I love to read and am currently reading Heresy by SJ Parris and am working on my 50 book challenge. Looking forward to busting off the weight that I gained back and maybe treating myself to a book for every 5 pounds I loose!
