Last year I learned to use North African flavors like turmeric and rose water. I just started learning Asian cooking. I bought fish sauce and am making Turkey Meatballs with a dipping sauce. My only problem is with the hot peppers. I don't like them, so I'll have to adjust. Anyway when you get bored, if you like to cook, try some flavors you don't usually eat. I've been doing low carb, don't love artificial sweeteners and stevia and I just don't see eye to eye. Tell me what you do? I'm trying to find my way.... I realized that I just need to get back to Paleo and work on those areas I've let slip. I'm type 2 diabetic and low carb works the best for me. It's just that I don't like the foods I'm suppose to eat and have a hard time getting myself to eat them. I don't usually eat enough protein or low carb veggies and so that is what I'll be working on to replace those starches I've been eating. I don't do too bad with su... I eat enough fruit for breakfast so I don't really want to add that in as a snack. At the current moment I've been eating nuts as a snack but it's getting to where I'm eating a cup of nuts every day and I'd like to not OD on them. I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for snacks besides fruit and nuts. I'm wondering if anyone is sensitive to rice what symptoms you experience. I had lost some weight last week and was down to 210 and I had some rice with dinner one night and woke up 214. I know I didn't gain 4 lbs over night, but it still took me all week to get back to 210. So maybe some bloating? IDK. But I'm thinking its the rice, because this weekend I stayed away from ri... I've been doing paleo with my husband for about six months now, but have kind of "fallen off the wagon" lately, following a family reunion and then a month long warranty repair on the refrigerator that left us eating takeout and S.A.D. pantry foods. I just joined the team with the hope of reigniting my enthusiasm! BTW, I've lost about 10-15 pounds from changing my diet. Need to lose about 70 more. No yogurt, no glasses of milk. I really, really, really wanted a hot chocolate last week and got an 8 oz whole milk hot chocolate from Starbucks with 1/2 a pump of the sugary syrup instead of 3-4 whole pumps. But otherwise, I've been good. <BR>...
