Any extra food eaten is considered filler (fat). I am now training myself to eat only for fuel. I do not think I am ever hungry as I am constantly eating something I crave.

During the day sometimes I can say "no" to my cravings but in the evening it has been a different story. I've been so lost with fitness in the past year that I've almost forgotten everything I learned through past diligence on this site. I am starting again, from scratch. I can no longer claim that I know what I'm doing, since I allowed 30 mindless pounds to jump onto me since I was last here. The site seems pretty overwhelming now, with endless options for earning points, that in the past I've wasted too much time on the less important parts. I want to be different this time. Ni... Tue, 21 Oct 2014 17:04:14 EST Lifestyle Versus Diet http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x27382x59233764 So I started on SparkPeople back in 2010 and over the course of the following year I lost over 80lbs. Over the course of the last 4 years I gained and lost and gained and lost again a few times over, to the point where I'm up 40 of those pounds. I've been spending a lot of time on SparkPeople over the last month, trying to get myself reacquainted with the process. I've re-realized that what's been wrong, I guess, is that I keep dieting and maybe I'm not really making lifestyle changes.
... I live in north Arkansas, and I was very active in Sparks while I was in college. But after I graduated in 2010 that went by the wayside. I had to relocate several times, and my job (hospice social worker) has me on the road all the time. So I got into the habit of grabbing something to eat at Sonic or Tastee Freeze, both of whom have foods guaranteed to pack on the pounds. I have gone from 162 to my current weight of 211. I joined because well, I am restarting my journey like many people. I had an old screen name but I simply needed that fresh start so I ended up getting a new screen name. It is way too easy to get overwhelmed and throw in the towel. I've just decided that giving up is no longer an option. I'm going to keep trying, taking small steps and doing my best. No longer beating myself up but being kind. 247 381 386 345 244 104<... Long story short - last year I lost 50 lbs! I've gained by 15. In the meantime, my mom and sister have lost over 80 lbs and my sister is becoming a leader with Weight Watchers because of her amazing success. While I'm happy for them, I feel like such a failure in comparison. I am now the "fat one" in the family. They get to pass their "fat clothes" to me and I can't even wear them. Di... I have no one to talk to and no one to encourage me, so I do great for a week or two then stop and give up. Anyone who can give me encouragement is greatly appreciated. Thu, 6 Jan 2011 17:38:47 EST welcome http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x27382x38874029 I have tried so many times and so many ways to lose weight. I retired in June and ended up in the morbidly obese category. After watching a show about dangerously obese people on T.V. on Jan 1st, I could see myself gradually falling into this trap and knew I had to stop now. So here I am newly motivated, hopefully for life. 18 Tue, 4 Jan 2011 12:34:39 EST Re-introducing me http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x27382x38857965 Hi! I'm Jen. I'm back to Spark after too long of a break. I had done fairly well on the program before. I lost about 18 lbs. Then I just lost myself.

SO now I've gained all but 2 lbs back. And I'm ready to give this another go. I love the community and I love the support I have here.

I'm a single mom to an amazing 12-year old daughter. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia a little over three years ago and I've let it control me more than I would like.

I... Mon, 3 Jan 2011 22:02:08 EST my intro http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x27382x38699697 Hello everyone, My name is Lisa, I am 45 year old wife and mom of two grown kids and I have been using Sparkpeople for probably almost a year or so. I have lost 60 pounds and was doing really well, until the last 4 to 6 months. I have since gained back about 10 to 15 pounds, due to lack of exercise and backsliding into old habits. I am sure its rooted in stress, due to many reasons, but I have to get my head back together and not only lose what I have regained but the last 20 to be at my goal... I'm hoping to get to the gym before I go to my parents for dinner. Unfortunately, we are having freezing rain at the moment so I'm torn between burning calories and staying put due to the weather. Hopefully, the temperature will come up enough for the freezing part to stop before the gym opens at 8:00 am.

What are your plans for today? Plus my co-workers all bring in their latest baked treats to share. And the football pool has been providing doughnuts. Seems like there is always food in the kitchen.

How do you avoid all the office goodies? In my case it sits right next to the water, so it's hard to avoid it all together. Fri, 11 Dec 2009 13:58:21 EST Hi :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x27382x30215869 Hello everyone. My name is Jen. This is my first experience with Spark and my first team. I'm looking to get back on track and own up to my eating "faults" for good. Over the past decade I have lost about 100lbs. My lowest my weight has been is 135, and it is my goal weight. I have maintained around 145 for over a year now, but am ready to hit the pavement and make that dip back down to 135 (hopefully). I know I'm not the only one who's had a trying year, but it has indeed been trying. I usua... Several members would compete against other memebers of our team in hopes to motivate each other for New Year's resolutions and getting back on track after the holidays. I haven't worked out the details, but you would earn points for things like drinking your water, excersizing and staying in your calorie range. The team with the most points would win.

If you are interested please leave a post or send me spark mail! I am tired of trying to do this solo. While my husband is supportive, he is not very helpful. And since I am a mother of four (ages 9 - 17) it is not easy to stay away from junk food. I joined Sparkpeople several months ago, but have not logged in in a while. I decided today to just stop making excuses and start moving towards my goal of being physically fit and losing weight.
<B... My name is Jamie, and I lost 20 or so lbs with SP a couple of years ago. Since then I have been up and down in weight. I know that isn't healthy, and I need to reshape my habits in order to lose the 31 lbs I have to lose, and maintain it.
I am a runner, I ran my first half marathon last month. Am anxious to get it back to its previous bright light...I've worked much too hard to lose this weight and get in shape to allow myself to go back to how I was before.

I'm hoping to get involved with this team, to re-ignite not only my own spark, but to help others relight theirs as well!!

Kit Wed, 23 Sep 2009 20:18:53 EST Good morning... so glad to have found this team! http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x27382x28419922 Good morning!
I've been a sparkpeople member since 2006, and have lost roughly 70 pounds. In November of last year, I got to a glorious 160 pounds... ten pounds away from my goal. This last year, however, has been a rough one, and I've been fortunate enough to only gain 10 pounds back.
I wish I could pinpoint the exact reason why I fell off... I could make a list as long as my arm, but when it boils down to it, I know the reason is within me. I really need to forget the "why" and... What would you try if didn't have anything holding you back? If there were no constraints on your time or money, what would your goals be? What would you do just for fun? Is there a new excersize routine you would love to try? Would you buy all organic food? What would change and what's preventing you from making those changes today?
