Sun, 27 Feb 2011 18:19:18 EST New old member Hi, well here I am trying again to lose those extra Ibs that have crept on over the years. I am really going to try and stay the course this time. I need to for my health as well as making me feel better about myself, I have really let myself go over the last few years, spending too much time worrying about my families needs and not my own. Wish me luck. Mon, 11 Oct 2010 08:31:51 EST Hi, I'm New To All Of This And Feeling Kind Of Shy I hate to seem sexist, but this doesn't seem to be something that middle aged guys usually do. However, I am into this whole program of exercising and eating healthy things. I was feeling good before making the Spark People changes and this change in my lifestyle is improving my perspective on life in many different ways. Tue, 9 Mar 2010 10:31:05 EST I'm back! I signed up a year ago, lasted for a while and then petered out. Now I am back for good. I have already lost 17 pounds and will continue to work out even when I don't feel like it. I've decided that it was finally time to make some connections on this site. My goals are to lose some weight (20-30 lbs), of course, but more than anything I need to establish exercise and health eating as a consistent part of my everyday CONSISTENCY is my main issue. I am looking for a buddy to encourage and to be encouraged by, so look at my profile, and see if you might be interested in keeping in touch. As you can tell from the forums that I have joined--I am a... Wed, 2 Dec 2009 10:35:43 EST Newbie! Hi everyone!! My name is Katie, and I'm a 25 year old single mommy to a crazy 2 year old little boy. We live in Southwest Florida where it is hot and sunny everyday!! lol I've always struggled with sticking to a good workout plan, but about a year ago I picked up running again (something I hadn't done since college) and went from a size 12 to a size 8...the skinniest I've ever been!! Whoo hoo!! My long term goal is to get down to a size 5. Hopefully I can make some new friends on here ... Sun, 4 Oct 2009 12:46:41 EST Challenge for July For this month, we are going to aim for improvements in our diet. Let's try adding new healthy foods to our diet, and experiement with them. I originally lost 60 lbs about a year ago...took a year off...and want to lose the last 40 or so pounds now.

I look forward to getting to know you!! Tue, 7 Jul 2009 09:29:15 EST CEREAL If you really, really need something to eat, I found out that diet jello is OK, but cereal is good for you. It generally is high in fiber and fills you. All you have to do is read the caloric amounts that are on the box and you've got a good snack.
I was surprised to find out that this works.
Good luck! 30 Sun, 5 Jul 2009 21:25:13 EST Mini meals I was wondering if anyone eats using the mini meal plan. I have hit a plateau and read that changing your eating or uping your exercise will help. I am starting to up my exercise but not sure about the eating. I read about a 1300 calorie meal plan that gives you choices of what to eat throughout the day that sounded good but wasn't sure if it would work for me.

Any help or ideas is appreciated!! Mon, 25 May 2009 16:58:31 EST Hello!!! I'm so glad to be a part of this team! I feel like I'm part of a group of energetic goal seekers who will get what they want. Fabulous! I added some personal details to my page so feel free to check it out. Sorry it took me so long to be social. It just took a bit to realize that I'm not alone and I don't have to be. Wonderful!

I joined SP on 3/12/09. My main reason was to lose some weight for a photo opp with my favorite bank on 7/21/09. This journey has now become so much more than this. I'm down 13 pounds since I started and my outlook on life has changed. I still have about 11 pounds to go but my focus isn't too much on the scale right now, even though every little ounce counts.

I've also started running and I can't believe the change... Tue, 5 May 2009 12:24:45 EST SP Meal Plan I was wondering if anyone uses or has used the meal plan provided by SP. I looked into and the only problem I have is buying the extra items at the store. The dinners I could triple(for my hubby and daughter) quantities of so I don't have to make 2 dinners but looking at the rest of my day, I am scared that will get too expensive. Fri, 13 Mar 2009 13:56:53 EST 13 March QOTD SP Class How was your first "work week" on sparkle? Did you find it harder then expected, easier? Major issues? The weekends are usually the toughest because you will be home or running errands with family and you have to pay close attention to those calories and still try to exercise. Good Luck. I know you can do it. Fri, 13 Mar 2009 08:51:11 EST Hello everyone!! So, how is this site going? I'm really hoping to gain a lot from it. So many people just want a miracle fix to weight problems. Take a pill, eat what you want and sit around all day doing nothing and wake up the next morning 25 pounds lighter.
Unfortunately we all know it doesn't work that way. I am about tired of waiting on something to happen and I'm ready to start making things happen. I am going to get this weight off and I am going to do it myself with good old hard work and de... Fri, 13 Mar 2009 00:41:58 EST Newbie Howdy people...I'm Holly from Seattle and I am a newbie here. I have lost about 35 pounds over the last year through food journaling and making healthy diet changes. Now I feel like time to ramp it up with a bit of exercise. I find my motivation in this department often lacking and have come for a bit of support. Just found SparkPeople's amazing...wish I'd had it a year ago.
Thanks! Thu, 12 Mar 2009 19:35:11 EST A Fine Whine Hi, I am Di, 56 yo resident of Yuma, AZ. I was a bit overweight (about 10 pounds) last April when I quit smoking ( Now I am 90 pounds overweight. I have health issues which make every aspect of weight loss difficult. I have Alzheimer's which means having to keep track of food is impossible. My doctor is still trying to figure out the dosage on the med to treat my hypothyroidism. I am xenophobic (a fear of humans) which makes going outside a problem. Finally I have pl... Thu, 12 Mar 2009 18:45:20 EST Hello from Jacksonville, FL Just wanted to say hello. My name is Ashley and I'm 24 years old from J-ville. I hope to lose 50 lbs in the next 7 months. I think it's acheivable. We'll see. Thu, 12 Mar 2009 13:59:48 EST Who wants an accountability buddy? Hey there! I'm hoping to lose about 2 pounds a week until my birthday, May 25 (happy birthday to me).

I'm wondering if anyone has a similar goal and would like to be spark friends and accountability buddies. I'd love to check up on each other's nutrition and fitness logs and comment on each other's spark pages as motivation and encouragement.

Let me know if you want to buddy up! Thu, 12 Mar 2009 13:10:29 EST Lost 2.5 pounds already? I realize it's probably a water-weight issue but I'm down 2.5 pounds from my starting weight, after 2 days. Whaaat? I don't think so!

Even though I know it's not "real" weight loss it's definitely a motivator. I love seeing a 3 in the 10s place instead of a 4.

139 feels so much nicer than 142, you know?

Off to drink more water... I'm probably not well hydrated yet for today. Thu, 12 Mar 2009 13:07:03 EST Anyone Else Having Trouble Fitting in the Exercise I had such good intentions yesterday . . . my plan was to walk the dog at least for 30 minutes. Who could think that it would be so hard to find 30 minutes for me to spend on a little exercise.

Before I got home from work, I was caught by the family to add extra stops on my daily mom-taxi route, there was unexpected shopping that HAD to be done, and before I knew it, it was 10 - way past my bedtime (my day starts at 4 am).

I'm not beating myself up. It's only day 4 and... Thu, 12 Mar 2009 12:05:36 EST WooHoo! I'm back to SP for the third time and I am super excited about it! It can be a one liner, a dialogue, anything you want. Ex. "Oh that small thing, it's just our summer hunting lodge." Thu, 12 Mar 2009 00:02:52 EST Just Joined Today! My plan... Hey everyone,
I just joined sparkpeople today. I've been meaning to get rid of some of this extra weight I've put on since getting married for a while now, but I haven't stuck to any one thing.

So I'm going to try to be more conscious of what I eat by logging foods in my (public) food journal. I love to eat and have always "lived to eat" rather than following the "eat to live" philosophy. I need to change my view of food and realize that it's there to nourish me and make me st... I, personally, like to have extreme workouts and sweat my patooty off! I understand everyone must start slow and go at their own pace. So please do not feel the need to join this unless you know you are physically and mentally capable. I used to run marathons back in the day. I'm trying to train again for them. I am starting to train for a 5k right now. So I am doing my own training program.

First week, ... Wed, 11 Mar 2009 10:47:53 EST HI! Hi! My name is Charlene. Well, today I just made a few tiny changes - basically stayed conscious to my decisions and actions - and I have been blown aback by the depth of shift in self-regard and self-care I am feeling toward myself at the en... Hello, I'm Tiffany. This is actually my second try on this site. I was on about two years ago and had great results, until meeting my ex-byfriend but that's a whole nother story I'm sure no one wishes to hear. Started being a lot healthier, trying to work out, eat better...mostly because I hated seeing the calories on the counter when I let lose. It made me a lot more conscious of "Oh just a bite", "I'll just try it", etc that add up to a lot. Anyways I want to try this again and hopefully ge... If however, you need to build up to 15 min, then do that, do not overdo it. set a pace and go for it. You know your body, listen to it. Sun, 8 Mar 2009 14:00:02 EST
