I am a high school librarian, and I've been a member of SP for about a month. I've been enjoying finding my way through the site and in the process, I've met many nice people.

I always like anything with an attitude, so I thought Teachers With an Attitude would suit me just fine. I'm happy to be here.

Renee Thu, 12 Jun 2008 22:45:32 EST How do people keep upbeat during all this http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x2370x15745726 I went to the dentist Monday to put a crown on a back tooth. He could never find out why it hurt, so he thought it was cracked somewhere. Tuesday it hurt so bad (with the new crown) that I thought I was going to shoot myself. Lots of Iboprophen later, I felt fine. The problem was that I had to keep taking the Advil. Wednesday I got up early and it seemed to be fine. I totally cut out soda, and sweets, and only had a piece of cake on my daughter's birthday back in April, and haven't had any sweets since. I count WW points, and although I don't attend meetings, I do journal. Also, I go to Curves 5 days a week. I drink about 10-12 glasses of water a day, and I only drink water.
I feel better, have a lot more... I teach 8th grade math and Algebra I at a middle school in Fort Worth. It has been a really emotional, and rough, first few weeks! This has really had an impact on my motivation and well-being. I have decided not to let it take control. I am so glad I found this group.

I am currently at almost the heaviest of my life, and have no energy. I have been depressed for the last couple of weeks and seriously considered quittin... I am new to Sparks and to anything like it, but I have decided that I need a support system to do this. I just made my plan yesterday and started it today and I am ready. I don't have a page up yet, just wanted to introduce myself and tell you that I am now a "teacher with an attitude" (not that I wasn't before...) 104 Mon, 20 Aug 2007 16:18:56 EST Living in a nut free world http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x2370x8199796 Hi everyone.

I teach in a school that has anaphylactic students and so we are not allowed to bring nuts to school of any kind. Of course, 3 years ago when I switched school was when I started liking peanut butter again. My first school had no such rule because there were no allergies. Murphy's Law huh.

And I don't often bring meat things to school. I'm going to try but I'm thinking in more of snack terms. Does anyone have ideas of what I can do for snacks that would have... Please remember to have your water close by while you post.

The core group has been meeting for over 3 years at the NKA (No Kids Allowed) Bar following a hard day's work. The new additions to the core, well, they have been less than that, but just as valuable to our group.

Just because you feel that we know each other really well, don't think for a moment that we don't have room fo... Mon, 6 Aug 2007 10:56:41 EST Can I Join? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x2370x8089397 I'm 32 years old, and I have about two years left until I graduate with a BA in Elementary Education. As of now I work part-time as a 9-1-1 Operator, and spend most of my day with my boys (ages 3 and 7). I spent last school year in the classroom as a parent volunteer one or two times a week.
I recently quit smoking, and gained 20 pounds on top of the excess weight I already had. I'm looking forward to graduation, and the beginning of a new career (and a smaller wardrobe). Is it OK that I really want someone to fix the team name so that there's no apostrophe? (I'm assuming there are several teachers "with attitudes" in this team?) 41 Sorry, I know that's annoying --my friends have assured me of that.

Anyway, I'm hoping to drop the 20ish pounds I've put on since beginning my career.
