I had surgery Oct. 29th 2011. I have only lost 24lbs since my surgery. I have the lap-band done and I am working out a lot. Is there a certain something I am not doing? Thu, 8 Mar 2012 11:49:57 EST Just Went Through Surgery http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x23620x46256280 Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I just had my surgery Monday (1-23-12). I am doing okay. The first day or so I thought to myself 'Dear God, what have I done??'. The pain is subsiding. The more I get up and move, the better I feel. The getting up part is the toughest. I know that it will all be worth it in the end. I am glad to have found some online support. I think that will be important to my success. Just when I had gotten to a "good" point in my life, eating right, concentrating on me, exercising, meditating, etc., my daughter announced to me in March 2010 that she was pregnant. Because she is epileptic, on two medications, was at the time 18 years old and 4 months pregnant without any prenatal care I was absolutely beside myself. On August 9, 2010 my beautiful grandson was born at 9lbs 12oz and absolutely healthy!! Praise Go... I'm new and I am just a few months away from lap band surgery. I'm just now starting to be a little bit nervous about it. My story isn't new. struggled with weight, lost a major amount a couple years ago, just to put it back on during a serious clinical depression. I know certain meds are not allowed and wasn't sure if this is one of them. I'm considering adding it to my daily diet because I have been at a plateau and watching friends and family lose with the Phentermine pill. I have used it before I was banded so I am well aware of the side affects, I just need to know if it is on the not allowed list, will it irritate my stomach pouch? <em>24</em> Thu, 15 Sep 2011 19:59:27 EST Hey everyone! I've had a 5% regain from my lowest weight, and I don't want to get on a slippery slope. I want to nip this in the bud while it's still easy to fix! I had a Duodenal Switch in 2005/6 (it was a 2 part surgery) and lost from 430 down to 168. I'm up to 181 as of this morning. I know it's only 13 pounds in 2 years, but it's unsettling. I am hungry between meals, which means I needed something. I will be on liquids until Saturday. That is the only bad thing about adjustments....not being able to eat for a few days. If I see progress from it, it will be worth it. I was up 1 lb from my last visit 7 weeks ago too...so it was definately needed. Wed, 9 Feb 2011 13:27:00 EST New lap bander http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x23620x39617797 I have been a part of Sparkpeople for a couple of years. 17 months ago I had lap band surgery. I knew if I didn't, I wouldn't lose weight on my own. So far I am pretty happy with my decision. I am down almost 60 lbs and have gone from a size 22/24 to a 16. I know a lot of people say that having surgery is a cop out. I have to say that it isn't as easy as one thinks. There are still cravings, decisions to make good choices not bad. This is where I struggle. I will continue though, and... Tue, 1 Feb 2011 19:52:31 EST Hi all :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x23620x39432089 Hi!
