I am a career woman and a student working on completing my bachelor's degree. I love junk food and hate exercising, but I am going to change that negative... I'm not completely new to SparkPeople, but it's been a long time since I used the site and I've never used the message boards before. I'm trying to go all in this time and I'm looking forward to making some progress! Have a great night! Mon, 6 Oct 2008 20:40:56 EST Is this normal? So I've been concentrating on drinking water today instead of just soda, and, well, I've had to go a *lot*! Is this normal? Also, since I'm drinking so much water should I expect to gain a couple of pounds over the next few days due to water retention? Mon, 6 Oct 2008 14:04:30 EST Hail :) My name is Phina and I'm 24 years old and I currently live in Houston. I joined Sparks on a recommendation from a friend who said it helped her. I went on my first diet when I was 11 and have been yo-yo dieting since. I have now concluded that being thin really isn't the goal anymore (though of course it would be awesome to be slimmer), I want to be healthy and lose the side-effects being overweight has on a person. I am getting married in April 2009 and I look forward to starting a new chapt... Mon, 6 Oct 2008 13:44:38 EST I'm ready to get started
OK so I'm not very good at this stuff.. Mon, 6 Oct 2008 12:56:57 EST Hello from New Mexico I'll post the same message in a new topic too, just in case I got it wrong:

Welcome to all of us. My name is Christine and i'm a full time mom with 3 boys and i work part time as a receptionist at a radiology office. I'm so excited about the adventure i'm starting. I joined my local gym and i have my first session with a trainer tomorrow. My goal is to loose 50lbs and buy me a bathing suit and wear it instead of taking it back. I know this journey is not going to be easy but I know if I put my heart into it I can do it. Mon, 6 Oct 2008 11:26:12 EST Hello from Michigan! Hi, I just joined this site. I am very excited about getting started on this journey. There will be ups and downs (hopefully not too many) so am hoping to find support here with people who understand the struggle of losing weight. Mon, 6 Oct 2008 09:56:52 EST Hi! I'm new of course and I'm sure I'll have lots of questions about the site and stuff in general! It's a great idea having a little club for people starting at the same time. Look forward to getting to know all of you! Mon, 6 Oct 2008 09:34:41 EST Starting today Hi All :)

I'm Sheila. An almost-40 year old mother of four. I wish I could blame this weight on the pregnancies, but the truth is... I can't. About three weeks after my youngest was born, I weighed in at 118 and was itching to drop that last 10. When I stopped nursing her, it felt like my metabolism had turned on me. I've been slowing gaining weight since then. Five years later, I weigh just under 190 pounds. I'm hoping the support and good advice here will help me turn this... Sun, 5 Oct 2008 10:13:13 EST Well, I just joined I'm actually part of a mom site and one of the mom's had this site in her signature as well as a weight loss ticker. I haven't really been overweight most of my life, until after I had my daughter. She's now 3 1/2, though, and I want to teach her to eat and live healthy. (Even though I think she's teaching me.
