SparkPeople Serious Medifast Losers! Team Messageboard This Spark team is for those who are using Medifast to lose weight and get healthy! We are all supportive and love to share our experiences. If you're on Medifast, we'd love to have you with us! SparkPeople Serious Medifast Losers! Team Messageboard 2nd time around Hi everyone,

My name is Sarah and I was on MF hardcore last year, going to a center on a weekly basis. I lost about 40 pounds and then we moved to a house out in the country. It was too far to journey to my center, so I stopped my weekly weigh-ins. Our house is an old country farmhouse in need of massive restoration, so there was about a month or two of not having a proper kitchen to prep food. Unfortunately, I fell off the wagon hard.

I thought I had gained back just 2... Wed, 18 Mar 2015 10:23:29 EST Medifast and Mirena IUD I am curious if anyone knows if having the Mirena IUD will effect my weight loss. I know that medifast has soy in it which caused higher levels of estrogen to be produced or something to that effect. If anyone has any info on that let me know. Mon, 16 Mar 2015 15:13:46 EST I survived the first "girls night out" meal! (OP!) I am new here, and new to my Medifast re-start. I lost 50 pound with MF back in 2006, and gained it all back plus some. I am on day 8. I have lost 11 pounds, and I survived (que Aretha Franklin 20 ) girls night out at the local Mexican restaurant. I ordered the shrimp cocktail without sauce, and drank water. When I got home I ate roasted veggies to stave off the hunger. I was really worried about the temptations of chips, salsa, and margaritas. My friends were very support... Thu, 12 Mar 2015 08:12:49 EST What challenges you??? So I thought it could be beneficial (I know it is for me right now) to chat about your biggest challenge or what are some of the challenges you are facing to staying On Plan right now.

It's funny because although I have given up a lot of things in general I feel like I have gained so much more. When I first started the plan I missed and craved, wine, candy, fruit, bread, restaurant food but so much of those have gone away and I feel so much better without them. <B... Tue, 10 Mar 2015 14:33:03 EST Snacks vs. Meals Hey everyone!
I'm excited to be here. I'm on day 7 of the diet and have lost 7 lbs.the last 2 days the scale hasn't moved, which is ok, but I'm starving! It made me think, do the snacks not count as a meal? I mostly bought shakes, bars, and snacks. What if I only like shakes and bars... Should I just eat those every meal? If so, when do I have the snacks? I'm so committed to this, but I don't want to give up because I'm starving!

Thank you! Sun, 8 Mar 2015 11:04:18 EST Let it melt First day Medifast and gone smoothly. Lost 12 pounds over the last four weeks doing South Beach diet. It went nicely but was a lot of work in the shopping and preparation. Medifast seems to make it so easy. Now having lost the first chunk of weight expect that the pounds should come a lot more slowly now. Weigh 160 now and my goal is 145. Hoping I can accomplish this in about 8-10 weeks. I exercise 40 minutes a day on the bike. But taking a weeklong trip next week. I ordered the "on the go" p... Fri, 6 Mar 2015 22:26:10 EST Tips and Tricks! Hi All!

I started my Medifast journey last year (a size 16/18, 247lbs+, at 6'2), when i found myself crying in bed, blaming my weight for why I'm still single, and feeling uncomfortable in my own skin (and clothes). I called up a woman I met at a random weight loss meetup, who had promoted TSFL, and she helped me order my first month's food right then and there. we started meeting weekly, with a group of about 5 of us, sharing our experiences and support. The pounds started melting... Fri, 6 Mar 2015 15:18:53 EST Exercising On Plan Hey, I'm new and read through some of the posts but didn't see a specific place for this. If there is one, please direct me there, thanks!

I really LOVE exercise. I run, right now only about 10 miles per week, but usually closer to 20 (plantar faciitis!) and building currently back to that level. I enjoy road races, usually 10ks, but the occasional half marathon. I'll be doing a half later this year, it's my Christmas gift, I just have to pick one.

I sometimes bike t... Fri, 6 Mar 2015 13:36:57 EST Loves, and dislikes I have been researching peoples favorite foods, and I need more info! :) I'm about to put in for a second order, and I want some advice... WHat food do you love, and what didn't you enjoy?

I did not like the chicken noodle soup, the strawberry shake, the mustard pretzels had a bad after taste, and I don't like the cereal, but I will eat them..

On the other hand, I love the chocolate mint bars, vanilla smoothie, and especially the Chocolate pudding.

I think i'... Thu, 5 Mar 2015 13:08:14 EST Glad to Find Some Online "Medi-Friends"! Hello, all. I am a Medifast fan who lost 80 pounds three years ago and have maintained a healthy weight since then using the concepts and products of Medifast (I still have a shake for breakfast every day and a brownie before I go to bed at night. Starts and ends my day just right.)

I credit the online community on the old Medifast blogs for much (most) of my success. The format there has changed, and the Spark People format seems very similar. I look forward to giving and recei... Sat, 28 Feb 2015 17:58:16 EST New Here! Hi everyone! I did MF a couple years ago but then went off of it and now am back and restarting. Lots have changed - can't find my old community message board and the TSFL community board doesn't seem to load on my computer. Weird! Today is day 2 and i'm feeling great! So happy to be back on this plan that I know will make me feel better plus give me great weight losses. I'm going to Disneyland with the kids in June so my goal between now and then is to lose 40lb! It will be hard but I'm goin... Sat, 28 Feb 2015 10:11:30 EST Hello! Hi Everyone, my name is Kelly and I'm writing from Ontario, Canada. I started Medifast (Canada's version, which is a little different from yours) in early January. So far I have lost almost 25 pounds, and feel a sense of hope I have not felt in years. Anyway just wanted to say hello, and that I look forward to participating in Spark People more, once I get it figured out. Sun, 22 Feb 2015 10:04:31 EST Hi! Hi guys!

I started Medifast today with my sister...looking forward to this support network.

Thanks,

Mel (female) Wed, 18 Feb 2015 17:24:36 EST Starting Thursday! Hi Ladies!

Well, I'm taking a big step and don't know yet whether to be relieved or terrified. I'm going to stop the MF food and switch gears for a month or so to see what happens.

On February 18, 2011 I started MF, and remained 100% OP until I lost 60 pounds, then got a bit off track and didn't reach my goal of losing 80. Had a major surgery, bounced around with being half on, half off plan. Broke my foot and lost ability to do my favorite exercise. Recovered, then star... Fri, 30 Jan 2015 08:09:50 EST HOW MUCH ARE YOU LOSING PER WEEK? HI EVERYONE. I am on the program for three weeks now and was wondering what the average weight loss is after the first couple of weeks. I hate the scale so much and am FEARFUL of getting on when I don't think I've lost anything. I'm on program PERFECT but after a 8 lb. loss the first week it was 2 the 2nd. I'm almost ready to weigh myself and I'm terrified that it won't show a loss. I don't feel any different from last week. I'm drinking 100 oz. of water a day. I guess I just need some... Thu, 29 Jan 2015 07:32:40 EST Need Some Help I was here 2 years ago and on Medifast at that time. I had a ticker that tracked my weight. Problem is I don't know how to change the weight on the ticker. It keeps showing my weight from 2 years ago not the current weight. Wed, 28 Jan 2015 16:24:56 EST First Day! Hello All,
I just had foot surgery and was concerned about weight gain as I gain weight easily while I was off my feet for 6 weeks. So today I started the Medifast 5/1 plan. I have failed so many times at trying to lose weight so I am just taking one day at a time. Also I have a niece's wedding to attend in June 2015. I haven't seen a lot of my family for several years as we live on opposite coasts. So to look great would be a big confidence booster for me. I really want to do this. I ha... Mon, 26 Jan 2015 14:18:05 EST Starting Tomorrow I am very excited to being back on Medifast again. I was on the program 2 years ago and lost 50 lbs. Gained most all of it back. I am so looking forward to doing this again, having a great community to be a part of and having a health coach.
I know this is where I belong.
Thanks everyone! Wed, 21 Jan 2015 04:30:40 EST Hi Everybody Really happy to be here. I will be looking forward to getting my food from Medifast later on this week. I know this will work for me as it has for others. 41 Sun, 18 Jan 2015 20:14:09 EST Hello Everyone My name is Jackie. I met with my health coach yesterday for the first time. I had been on medifast several years ago and lost 50 lbs. I am sorry that I did not stick with it.
My food should come by the middle to end of next week and I am really looking forward to getting started.
Really look forward to losing with a team. Sat, 17 Jan 2015 12:55:36 EST New member Hi All!
Just started Medifast on the Jan 1 and doing ok.
Still struggling a bit working out my lean and grean meal. Fri, 2 Jan 2015 11:52:03 EST Intro moved to correct page Oops Fri, 26 Dec 2014 11:12:53 EST Hey, Everyone. Day 1 almost complete =) Hi! I'm new to Medifast but not Sparkpeople. I'm a professional yo-yo'er ! As I get older I'm more focused on the health than looking good in a bikini (although I'll take that too). I think the most difficult thing for me is failing to plan and impulse eating. I've caught myself eating out sometimes twice a day for the last six months and had to put an end to it. Not to mention I feel like crap all the time with headaches, fatigue and blood sugar swings that make me shaky and spacy. BLA... Mon, 15 Dec 2014 15:45:48 EST How to succeed I usually keep routine pretty well and follow my 5&1 during the week but the weekend brings challenges and temptations. Social gatherings and community meals. When I was on MF originally, 2 years ago I learned that I can do it, and I planned for these gathering. Key concept was planning my daily meals. It is doable, just need to stop thinking negative thoughts like "this is too hard" or "not fair that others are eating and I am not". Change thoughts and everything changes. I am focusing on th... Mon, 8 Dec 2014 11:57:55 EST Hello Serious Medifast Losers! How is everyone doing? Are you refreshing your commitment before the holidays hit?

I have been on TSFL (Take Shape for Life) since April 23. I am almost down 70 pounds. This has been an easy program, but it takes attention and commitment, as well as refreshing or renewing your "vows." I need to renew my commitment, mentally, and make time for my goals and for my health.

What do you think? Sat, 15 Nov 2014 12:39:48 EST New to the team Hi every one. I just joined the team. I've been on Spark people for a few years now. (seriously don't know how many) Lost a lot of weight then life happened and gained it back. Still stayed active but it was harder.

I started the Medifast diet working with a health coach 3 months ago. I have lost over 30 lbs, and have the last 20 in my sights.

I'm working on getting healthy and ready to start training for a half Ironman triathlon next summer. Mon, 10 Nov 2014 09:32:28 EST November 2014 Challenge We have reached the time of year that is a challenge. There is food EVERYWHERE - candy from Halloween, big dinners at Thanksgiving, and cookies cookies and more cookies at Christmas! What is wrong isn't so much eating that one item you love so much - it's knowing when to stop.

Our friends, family and coworkers will bring in left-over candy, or pass out cookies or invite us to big dinners with tons of buffet-style food. Let's work on saying "NO!" or "Not right now!" or "I have had e... Tue, 4 Nov 2014 16:19:41 EST Fall and Winter Holidays 2014 One down three more to go!

I think this time of year is a little tougher for anybody trying to lose weight. It might be particularly hard for the medifast diet since it is so restrictive. I guess there are pros and cons to any diet. I think it would be a great idea to have a thread for tips, advice and just general chat about getting through this time of year.

So Halloween is gone and we still have Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year. Got up and sweated through Bikram yoga this morning so off to a positive start. I am the mom to an amazing 13 year old daughter and a middle school math teacher. Looking forward to offering and receiving support to live a life of health, peace, and happiness! Sat, 18 Oct 2014 12:50:48 EST Starting Medifast Tomorrow I'm starting medifast tomorrow. I lost about 30 lbs in the spring of 2013 and then I got pregnant. Our bundle of joy is now 7 months old so time to lose the weight!!! Tue, 14 Oct 2014 11:07:50 EST What's for dinner? SparkPeople had a pretty cool link for some salads:

eshow.asp?show=106

While I don't think they are 100% on program, salads are my go-to solution to get all my veggies in. So take a perusal, try some out and let us know how it goes!! Fri, 10 Oct 2014 17:05:27 EST October 2014 Challenge I want to be healthy for my friends, for my family, but most importantly for ME. It's important to remind myself I am WORTH IT. I am worth being healthy, I deserve good health, I deserve to make good choices.

For this month's challenge, let's try this: while we are at the mirror finding one thing to love about ourselves, let's say, "I deserve good health! I am worth it!" Thu, 9 Oct 2014 16:39:03 EST The second time around.... Hi all, joined the team today. This team doesn't appear to be too active but hoping enough to get some feed back occasionally. I don't really bring up Medifast on other posts, people can be kind of funny about what they consider "drastic diets" lol
This is my second time on Medifast, I lost 60 pounds about 4 years ago but unfortunately didn't learn the lesson that I can't go back to eating the old way. We'll never look like a Photoshopped model in a magazine, but what we have is AMAZING and GREAT.

Feel free to share your thoughts and... Thu, 18 Sep 2014 16:09:56 EST Another Try I started Medifast/TSFL again last Tuesday. I lost about 30 pounds several years ago but stopped the plan when my coach yelled at me for drinking gator aid during my 10+ mile trainings for a half marathon. I understood it had sugar & other "bad" stuff, but it works for me to replace electrolytes that I lose during a race (I'm a salty sweater).

Anyway, I've been injured a lot this last year and haven't been able to make myself to go back to weight watches. Since the current inj... Wed, 17 Sep 2014 15:44:04 EST Mid-Week Inspiration Right about Wednesday, you start to drag, at work, at school, at home. Why are you on program? My name is Susan and I'm giving Medifast another try with a goal of transitioning to clean eating once I lose my extra weight. Transition is the key for me...I have a long history of gaining/losing weight...I just haven't been able to keep it off! My weight loss goal is 50 lbs. My sister in law is going to be my medifast buddy at home, but I would love to have more online medifast friends for support. I hope everyone is finding success on the program! Sat, 16 Aug 2014 10:22:53 EST Hi Hi I'm Karen and this is my 1st day on medifast. So far, so good. I would like to loose 50 pounds. My girlfriend is on medifast and has lost 20 lbs so far so I decided to try. I got in some of my walking today. Only did 4.64 miles total instead of my normal 6 to 7 miles. Wish me luck!! I just wish medifast wasn't soooo expensive!! Sun, 13 Jul 2014 21:04:18 EST STICK TO THE PLAN I really need to see that scale move this week! By allowing myself small cheats throughout the week I have stalled my loss. Starting every morning with a prayer to keep me focused on the goal and to stick to the plan. What a mental battle this has been for me. I ordered the meatball and chicken cacciatore ones. Haven't tried them yet. Also as with so many mf meals are any adjustments needed when cooking them? Thanks Wed, 30 Apr 2014 02:26:53 EST Ordering? Hi I am new to Spark People and Medifast. I was wondering how I can order extra boxes of food and not pay so much in shipping. We don't have a center here in Colorado but I really like the cereal and it has helped me get through these first few days and I would like to order more so I can eat the foods I like through the initial phase as another medifast user suggested I do.

Thank you,

Demetria Tue, 11 Feb 2014 17:17:55 EST New to Medifast, not new to Sparkpeople Hi everyone!!

I'm Tanya, 35, from Lafayette, LA. I'm a (very) lapsed Sparkmember. I started Medifast two weeks ago today. I haven't had my usual 20oz sugar-free red bull since then, and haven't had a cigarette since Tuesday.

My biggest concern with Medifast is that I work overnight in managing the stocking team in a super-retailer. Hi guys - I've just started on the medifast program. Day 2. I little overwhelmed by all the food choices, but I can see this is probably the most effective programs out there. I've got 80 pounds to lose - given myself 12 months to achieve that. Any thoughts/advice from Medifast users would be most appreciated! Especially how not to fall off (I've managed to fall off almost every diet I've tried).

Thanks to all!! :) Sun, 26 Jan 2014 00:37:26 EST Medifast Weight Control Centers - Worth the Cost? Hi All!

My name is Jen and am on a one week trial through the Medifast corporate Weight Control Center here in Houston. They allowed me to purchase 1 weeks worth of food before committing to a plan (the center only sells to their members, and not to the public). I know, that no matter what, I am going to do Medifast, but right now I am trying to decide whether to just order online and do it myself or bite the bullet and pay the 660 dollar fee to do a plan through the weight control... Tue, 21 Jan 2014 22:19:57 EST InBody Scan I'm so excited - I did my four week inbody scan at my Medifast Center today and the results are really good. I've lost 14.1 pounds (Down from 205.5 to 191.4!) and of that 9 pounds is pure fat, a few pounds of water and unfortunately 1.3 pounds of "dry lean mass" - muscle. So, my counselor told me to be sure to measure all my proteins and if it's still falling we'll up my protein ounces (which would be fabulous...more cheese, please!)

Just wanted to share my good news - stay on tr... Sat, 11 Jan 2014 13:43:24 EST Ate double L&G - should i have my last meal? I'm not sure what to do - I made a new recipe, buffalo chicken bake with celery and green pepper strips, and it was so good I ate the whole batch! So, it's like double lean but I only had the correct portion of the green (as usual - go figure!) So, will this throw me way off and should I eat my last remaining medifast meal of the day, or skip it to account for the extra that I had for L&G? This diet is so much easier when you follow it to the letter! Tue, 7 Jan 2014 22:10:45 EST Hello! Hello!
Today is my first day on Medifast! Excited to begin this Journey! 334 Mon, 11 Nov 2013 09:52:11 EST New to Medifast Hi Everyone, I just started Medifast on Wednesday. Thu, 26 Sep 2013 14:36:40 EST First week weigh in a bummer! Just went for my first week weigh in at Medifast today. Only lost 2 pounds. My Counselor went over my Journal and said I followed the Plan perfectly. The only reason for the low weight loss that we could come up with is the fact that I've followed the South Beach Plan for the past year and my body is already is accustomed to low carb, low fat, no dairy. Hopefully, week two will be better. I signed up for the six week plan to see if I would lose on it. I would like to see 20 pounds gone by t... Mon, 23 Sep 2013 20:08:08 EST losing weight through my bladder I have only been on MF for 8 days. I have lost 5 lb my first week and that is with some serious cheating on day 5. I am happy so far and plan on using MF for quite a while til I am a much lighter person with a new wardrobe. My question is if anyone else has found they are going to the restroom every 1.5 to 2.5 hours like I am on this food. I lost weight , however; I went on a cruise and sabatoged it and did not get back on. That was my mistake, The secret with Medifast is that their food is all inclusive. It has all the proteins, vitamins and minerals you need. After 3 days on the plan, your hunger seriously wanes. The food can get boring after a while so it is important to make your lean and green meals special. Look up lean and green ideals on the net.... Hi all, I dont post usually, but I need accountability so here it goes!
I was doing "ok" at using medifast, using the meals all day and then eating a reasonable dinner but not strictly adhereing to the "lean and green" standards.
SO as a consequence I didnt lose weight as fast as I had hoped for plopping down $500 on meals and then I QUIT. I've been on Medifast for almost a month now and have had good results so far. Started at 205 and got down to 193.2 in a matter of 2 and a half weeks. Well in the last week on one day I didn't get the lean and green meal in. Just wasn't feeling that great and wasn't that hungry. So I thought it wouldn't do much harm, but I woke up the next morning and had gained 3 pounds. I was shocked to see this, so I called my person at Medifast and she expla... Sat, 27 Oct 2012 13:27:25 EST Intro Hey everyone!

I guess this is the place where I introduce myself. My name is Will and I'm 20 and currently on the Medifast program. I just recently went through Chemo and Radiation for a brain tumor and gained 40 pounds from the steroids. Nothing was helping me get my weight back down, so I decided to try Medifast. Sat, 27 Oct 2012 13:21:25 EST Weight loss during Transition My health coach told me that I would probably lose a little more weight during my 12-week transition. I'm in week 3 and, honestly, I've lost 2 pounds. I'm frustrated by this. My clothes are fitting better. I've upped my exercise level (training for my 2nd 5K) and I know that my backside and thighs are getting tighter from building the muscle.

I'm following the plan to the letter and keeping good track here. Thu, 19 Jul 2012 16:28:24 EST MediFast at Comic Con final update, next steps Hi everyone. It's over and I think I've finally come down from the whirl wind of activity. During the same time as the con my wife ended up with a severe persistent elbow pain from a re-aggravated injury and I went through my own medical issues. But we stayed on MediFast fairly faithfully. Our meal times were way off and we either missed a meal replacement or ate an extra meal replacement because we didn't remember if we had eaten. CRAZY! In the end we still lost weight so we are thankf... I can see what I ate first and so like best. Mon, 16 Jul 2012 15:31:30 EST July Starters Hi all! I started Medifast on 7/9 and have had great success so far- 5.2 lb lost! Last night was the second time this week.

Any suggestions to get past the middle of the night? Sun, 29 Jan 2012 08:39:10 EST whoopeeeee!! I am so EXCITED!! I haven't weighed 168 for 28 years. WHOOOPPPEEE!! Do I NEED SAY MORE!! WHOOOPEEEEE Sat, 28 Jan 2012 07:47:13 EST Why three weeks of no or little exercise? I don't know if you guys have paid attention to this. But a friend pointed it out to me and I didn't think it was a big deal until she said something. Apparently, in the first 3 weeks of beginning Medifast one must do little to no exercise if one wants their fat-burning to work soon? or something? I didn't quite understand, but since this friend has had great results and followed this I wasn't going to argue. Do you guys know anything about this and if it can affect your fat-burning if you do... Mon, 23 Jan 2012 21:38:31 EST Looking for help and maybe a butt kicking! UGH! Mon, 2 Jan 2012 14:05:51 EST SPLENDA I have a question. I've been on MF for 6 months. I drink coffee with powdered cream and realize these have carbs in it.Has anyone noticed a difference if they cut out splenda and cream? I am a coffee aholic and have tried putting my shakes, hot chocolate etc in my coffee instead of cream and I truly become a cranky person without my good coffee. I am trying to cut back to drinking only 3 good cups of coffee a day with cream and splenda and drink black coffee and sometimes it's decaf. But I'm ... Mon, 2 Jan 2012 08:46:02 EST Brigitte Here, Plan to start Medifast Saturday Hi everybody! My name is Brigitte. I'm meeting with a representative tomorrow at 11 and probably will start this Saturday.

Maybe you guys can tell me certain things I should be aware of before starting? I'm new to this group, but a frequent user of the Medifast online tools. I know their site forbids exchanging food with other members. I was hoping to find a place to do that here.

I've had suggestions to sell the unwanted food on Craigslist (which doesn't get much traffic in my area) or Ebay (sky high fees). I would really like to find someone to swap some with. They get food they like in exchange for food I like. No money would be exchanged and the only cost would be po... Sun, 11 Dec 2011 21:21:36 EST Cheaper MF Alternative I'm on a Facebook MF forum and learned of another product similar to MF. It's a line by a company called Kay's Naturals. I've tried a three day sample pack and have been really encouraged by how much better the foods taste! The other plus is that they're all natural ingredients.

The cost is quite a bit less than MF, too. I'm planning to supplement my MF foods with some of the Kay's products here and there. I'll keep you posted!

If you decide to try any of them, note the ... Fri, 9 Dec 2011 10:43:10 EST New Medifast products Three new foods came out this month, Hearty Vegetarian Sloppy Joe, Chocolate chip soft bake and an Orange drink. I won a box of each from a blog I read (not on spark). The Sloppy Joe is really good! I'll be buying that one on my next order. The cookie is ok, I actually like the brownie better. I haven't tried the orange drink, I wasn't crazy about the tropical punch one, but I'll let yall know when I do try it. Anyone else tried these? Wed, 30 Nov 2011 18:35:25 EST Food Trade? I've just received two boxes of Maryland Crab Soup from my sis-in-law, who gave up on MF.

I'm not a seafood fan so I'm reluctant to even try them. I started Medifast this Wednesday and so far, I'm thrilled with the results. In the beginning of '07 I had dropped from 215 to 150- eventually making it to 145 but then hovering at 155. It was a time of great stress (I swear- if they can find the hormone that causes you to loose your appetite during stressful life events- it would be the best diet aid ever!) I kept the weight off until about February of '09. At that time m... Sat, 19 Nov 2011 11:03:03 EST Exercise on Medifast? I just ordered my first shipment. The calories are about 1000 a day. As in if I use 4 splendas total in my coffee in the mornings I've already gone 1 over my allowance of any extra things for the day and can't even season my L&G meal later? Thu, 22 Sep 2011 22:55:08 EST Brand New Day Hi Everyone! Today is my 1st day starting Medifast, and I am both really excited and apprehensive about this journey! I have had a hard time sticking to diets in the past. It was so easy to become confused when trying to be diligent and figure out what/when to eat on other plans. Thats why I am so glad to take the guesswork out of it this time! I currently have about 80lbs to lose and am also in the beginning of a very stressful grad school program. I cannot afford to gain anything else! So I... Mon, 19 Sep 2011 16:11:09 EST Writing to overcome I was wondering if anyone did any structured writing exercises to deal with food addiction/overreating/bingeing or emotional eating? I did print out some stuff from AAs website on step work and am applying that to food..but just wondering if anyone else has done this to get over the food obsession. If so..suggestions would be great! Hope everyone is doing well. I didn't gain alot of weight but I should have lost a lot more. So today is the first day of the rest of my journey, I look forward to keeping in touch with everyone.

Can anyone recommend any good MF websites. Haven't been on here for a few days because I've been falling on and off plan. I honestly am just so mad at myself that I haven't been able to just get back OP and stay there. I feel like I'm self-sabotaging like I always do. I got it from another forum and I've used it quite a few times. While the recipe calls for Vanilla Pudding, I've played around with using Chocolate. The original recipe only used water but I replace half the water with sugar free DaVinici syrup so I can vary the flavors. A small blender like a Magic Bullet is essential for this to turn out. The tablespoon of cream cheese acts as a condiment or a healthy fat, I forget... I am worried that I am not getting enough calories... I am barely hitting 1000/day with the 5MF+1LG, which seems excessive and potentially counter productive. I was thinking of adding an extra MF meal... it's only 100 extra calories, but not sure if this will affect my results.

Also, I remember on Biggest Loser them commenting that too few calories can actually make you retain weight, not lose... something to do with the body thinki... Wed, 10 Aug 2011 12:26:13 EST Considering Medifast & have questions I am seriously considering Medifast but have some questions. I know myself well enough that the structure will be good for me and initial success goes a long way. I also know that once I get on track....I do very well! The cost is a little intimidating but I think I'll buy the 2 week plan and decide from there.

I'm struggling with WHEN to start. I am having a minor surgery next Friday and am afraid starting a new diet and staying OP will not work immediately after...@ least for... Sat, 9 Jul 2011 12:35:33 EST New to the team Hello everyone!

I'm Christy and I am a MF user since 3/8/11. I have lost 64lbs on the program but in the past 2 weeks I have been struggling big time with cravings. I know the recent camping trip we went on with family didn't help either. So I stepped on the scale this morning and noticed a 5lb gain. *sigh* I knew I'd gain, you can't eat "camping" food without gaining something.

So now I am back to my plan and trying to stick to it without thinking about all the "junk" I... Fri, 1 Jul 2011 12:39:01 EST Newbie Starting Tuesday, July 5 My name is MIchelle. I've been trying to lose weight for awhile. I have not done it successfully or really tried hard enough. So I thought as a birthday present to myself I would start the Medifast. I have a friend who is a Health Coach, so that will help. I am looking forward to this journey and losing the weight. I want to lose about 55 pounds. Thu, 30 Jun 2011 15:48:15 EST Medifast Meal Recipes I've been checking out the recipes for the Medifast meals on the MF site. There's a lot of different ways people have doctored up the meals to suit their tastes or for variety!

Here's one I tried yesterday:

1 Packet Essential1 CalorieBurn Cappuccino
8 oz Water
1 tsp (more or less) Instant Coffee
4 Ice Cubes

Blend it up & enjoy!

I love the taste of the resulting "shake," and that's a relief because I have several boxes of the cappucino... Thu, 30 Jun 2011 15:17:28 EST Starting over today Reintroducing my self
I started Medifast in Jan and have been struggling for the past couple of months. After talking with my coach we decided to treat today as day 1. Starting over. I did so well when I first started so I am refocusing, rereading all of the material and TRACKING! Reminder to myself and everyone else, just because you cheated or messed up does not mean that you are going to fail, just step back and start over Sat, 18 Jun 2011 12:44:48 EST extremely weak & light headed- what to do? Hi all,

I've been on Medifast for a 11 days. I'm thrilled to have lost 9 lbs so far, but I'm having problems with weakness and feeling very light headed. Some days it's so severe that I feel like I'm going to pass out at work. It's very embarrassing. I love the diet so far and I don't want to quit. What should I do to help with the weakness and light headed feeling?

By the way, I'm getting at least 800 calories a day and my carbs range anywhere from 55 to 75 grams per d... Thu, 16 Jun 2011 12:41:44 EST Medifast Sabbatical for Summer I am just in my first month of Medifast. I've lost 15 pounds so far and have about 25 pounds to go. The problem is that it's summer and I want to eat blueberries and strawberries and corn while they are fresh and in-season. Have any of you ever taken a medifast sabbatical? I'd like to work fresh produce back in while it's here and then back to the 5 and 1 once summer is over. Of course it would be great if I can still keep losing!
Anybody have any suggestions for how to do this?
Th... Sun, 29 May 2011 16:10:04 EST Green Tea OK, I've often read that green tea boosts metabolism, but I've never really liked it.

Because my losses have been kinda' slow, I decided to add it this week. I've been sipping it iced and hot (actually guzzling it a bit since it's not my fav). I'm using Jasmine and/or lemon flavored green tea bags and making it a bit stronger than 1 bag to 1 cup.

This week, without changing anything else, I'm down 3.6 pounds!

Maybe it's just positive thinking and the placebo e... Fri, 27 May 2011 13:38:25 EST Hi Hello. I'm on week 2 and moved my info over here. I was using Sparkpeople last year, but decided to go with Medifast from WW. I tried to change my caloric goals for the day and it wouldn't take it, so I guess I will be nagged every day, lol. Anyway, here's mud in your eye, lol. Hi, all,

I thought I was going to be able to start MF, but it turns out that hubby just isn't engaged enough in the process. I think that, at this point, we will both be unhappy without total commitment to the MF plan. I hope that you all have much success with MF.

In the meantime, I'll be looking for another plan on SP. Wed, 4 May 2011 17:08:19 EST Suggestions On How To Improve Our Team Hello everyone!

I sent out an email with this information as well but I wanted to get your feedback and suggestions on how we can improve our team, Serious Medifast Losers! I would really like to increase participation and interest in our team so that we can build strong friendships with people who can relate to what we are all going through being on Medifast. Mon, 2 May 2011 19:46:55 EST Swelling - too little salt? Hello Everyone,

I'm currently in physical therapy due to toe (3) surgery I had in January. Not only does the toes/foot continue to swell but we've notice both of my lower legs are swelling. Massage is very painful especially around the ankle area. I just spoke with my health coach who is also my doctor and we will talk again next week. But first thought is possibly too little salt. So my salt to water balance may be off. I'm drinking 9-12 cups of water a day. I am trying to ... Mon, 25 Apr 2011 15:08:01 EST Number of Consecutive Days On Plan Challenge! Hi Team!

I am starting Medifast today - again lol - and I decided to challenge myself to see how many days in a row I can stay 100% on plan.

For me, any deviation from the plan seems to give me permission to totally fall off the wagon. So I'm going for a 100% streak, no matter what, no excuses.

Hitting 100 days would be awesome & I'll have to plan a serious reward for that - but for now I'll concentrate on getting day 1 under my belt.
Mon, 25 Apr 2011 08:41:35 EST New to Medifast I'm about to start the Medifast plan. Hello Everyone,

I seem to be averaging about 750 calories today. Is this about the normal amount? It just seems so low.

Michelle Mon, 11 Apr 2011 20:37:23 EST New to Medifast I just started Medifast yesterday for the first time. So far I haven't been especially hungry. I hope that continues. But I have been somewhat light headed and I hope that improves soon.

I have a friend at work who is also following the Medifast plan and she has had phenomenal weight loss in her first month. I'm hoping for results similar to hers even though I am historically a slow loser.

Any tips are welcome to help me stay on track and get maximum weight loss. Tue, 5 Apr 2011 10:31:14 EST Lactose Intolerant & MF Hello Everyone,

My husband is considering to MF with me but he is lactose intolerant. I've found that several soups, a few oatmeals and a few puddings are lactose free but I can't see him eating soup and oatmeal all day.

Any suggestions on other MF products that might be low-lactose? It would be great if he could do some shakes and bars.

Thanks!

Michelle Sun, 3 Apr 2011 20:24:41 EST Hello Everyone, just started MF Hello Everyone,

I just started Medifast 3 days ago and am new to SparkPeople. I'm inspired by a friend's sister who lost quite a bit of weight on MF and am hoping to be successful myself. I have hypothyroidism and a metabolism that's at a snakes' crawl. My doctor is a TSFL health coach and recommended MF to me. I have 60lbs to lose to get to my goal weight and I'm going on a cruise with my husband at the end of June -11 weeks away so hoping to lose 20-30lbs by then. So far I'm... Fri, 1 Apr 2011 01:47:37 EST Hi everyone :) I needed to delete this.... i'll get back to you all under a different name... Wed, 30 Mar 2011 14:59:43 EST AHHH! Im off track I have officially lost 30 lbs using Medifast I still have a long way to go. I stalled out after my first 20, I haven't been as focused about it as I was before and I have not been visiting SparkPeople as much as I should. After every weigh in I promise myself that I will at least track my food but then I dont and this week I didn't loose any weight, none at all. That makes me so mad but its my own fault. I need a pep talk or something, or maybe this is my pep talk. I need to get it together.... Wed, 30 Mar 2011 10:22:13 EST
