SparkPeople Getting Fit in Austria Team Messageboard For people in Austria that are striving to get fit and healthy and stay that way! SparkPeople Getting Fit in Austria Team Messageboard How do you stay sane in the Austrian winter? This is my 7th winter in Austria. Some have been better than others. I generally find that busyness and exercise help prevent the winter blues.
I guess I'm not really a winter person because I don't look forward to snow and everyone else in celebrating when it comes.
How do you guys cope? I was a pretty spoiled child regarding helping my mom with stuff at home ^^

So now I am like standing around in spar, merkur, and so on and compare calories, ingredients and stuff to find out what the best low calorie stuff is. I'm hoping that having that event as a goal will motivate me to power walk every day. I used to do that years ago, but haven't been very sporty for a long time. Sun, 5 Apr 2009 11:30:55 EST Hello Team Austria! I'm an expat New Yorker living and working in Vienna. Although it's lovely here, I find it very difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The cuisine is loaded with fat and calories, and the only restaurants where I find healthy choices are the extremely expensive ones. It's also difficult to find low-fat choices in the supermarket -- although I recently found 3% fat mayonnaise, and there's now a low-fat sour cream. I love to cook, and use a lot of ideas from Sparkpeople, but it's diffic... Sun, 18 Jan 2009 05:03:50 EST Skiing anyone? Hello to the team!

I am guessing that there are a few skiiers in this group and wondered where people like to ski in Austria?
