SparkPeople Harley Women and Men Team Messageboard Women or men who ride motorcycles for enjoyment and adventure. SparkPeople Harley Women and Men Team Messageboard Hello from Nevada Hi Team! I'm new to the team, have been a Sparker (twice) for the past 5 years. I am approaching my goal weight, 6 more pounds to go! (I have lost 38 pounds.) Then I need to work to stay there.

My husband and I enjoy riding together. Our son is 8 and soon we would like to let him ride behind his dad, and I will ride my own Harley. I just recently have been learning to ride on my own instead of on my husband's bike. He loves his chromed up softail CVOs, so we bought me an old 1995 S... Tue, 29 Mar 2016 19:12:01 EST Gaining I have gained ten pounds in about the last three weeks. I am not sleeping and the evenings are about twelve hours long. So I'm not sleeping. I have plantar faciitis so I can't walk and as a result of those two things am not only not losing, but gaining weight. Things are not going so well. Can't seem to get out of this vicious circle.
Wed, 5 Aug 2015 22:42:06 EST Too cold to ride in MN Up to 19 degrees today so far......Woo Hoo! The Ultra is still in for now I'm riding my treadmill. Bought the Spark People Tracker through Amazon...If you have not done so, just DO IT. It is great for not only tracking your workouts, calories burned, daily steps (my goal is 6000), distance walked, and activity time. You just plug one part into your computer and wear the other part. It is great feedback to keep you motivated to stay on track...I highly recommend it.... Wed, 5 Mar 2014 12:06:29 EST New Harley rider from Minnesota Hi---Deano here from MN. Wed, 5 Feb 2014 21:19:09 EST Not only do you stay fit, but so does your bike. Do you treat your body like you treat your bike? I am asking this question with a dual purpose. To get you as a rider to think about your body and your bike, both need to be in an exercise program, both need the right type of fuel to perform as expected. Both need maintaince.

Yeah yeah I can hear you now... exercise my bike?

Do you do the safty checks each and everytime you ride? That's a bikes warm up exercise.
Do you ride the same street everyday? That's a boring ... Sun, 21 Oct 2012 09:28:40 EST WHAT KIND OF EXERCISE ARE YOU DOING? I do a 4.16 mile cardio walk on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with upper body strength workouts Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Vegetate on Sunday. Keep track of everything I eat, and not just calories, carbs, fat, and protein. You can also track a huge variety of other nutrients, and I try to keep in the guidelines for those also. My biggest problems are too much sodium, too much Vitamin A, not enough potassium, etc. I have lost 26 pounds since June 18th, so it DOES work, if you do your p... We have recently seen a bike with awesome engraving, one in particular was a Vietnam Medal. My husband would love to have this one engraved on his engine cover - Does anyone know where I might look for this?
Thanks!
Sherry Mon, 4 May 2009 13:11:06 EST Hello Everybody I just found this group by accident and I'm excited to be here. 213 I've always had a fascination with Harley's, and Harley riders. My disability kept me from riding for a couple of years but I've been slowly getting back into it and I'm hoping to do a lot of riding this season. Maybe even find a friend or two to ride with.
30 Fri, 24 Apr 2009 11:24:13 EST New Member Hi folks,I'm new to this team and relatively new to sparks people. But if you walk around in a fog a lot of the time, your "healthy" eating habits may be to blame. As we tuck into pies and stews to ward off the winter chill we’re making sure there’s an extra – fatty – layer between us and the cold. And when it’s miserable outside nobody feels like getting up from the couch to exercise.

The slow-down in physical activity and a winter diet of stodgy, fatty food are the main reasons people gain weight in winter. Sat, 20 Dec 2008 12:02:11 EST Excessive Motorcycle Noise Pollution Excessive motorcycle sound has been characterized as the single greatest threat to the future of motorcycling in the U.S. It is also considered to be more of an individual behavioral problem than any other particular aspect of the sound issue, and it’s one that can and should be managed by the rider.
