SparkPeople SP Class of July 13-19, 2008 Team Messageboard Trying to get back to what I know is best for me.. Though I did find this great site back in 2008...I have not been a faithful follower...a lot has changed in my life since 2008, the most life changing being that I lost an adult child in 2009, married my long time sweetheart in 2012 ( my "present" for my 60th birthday), and inherited a 14 year old grandson in Dec 2013. I am a survivor. But raising a teenager, who has now lost both parents, after the nest has been empty for at least 15 yrs, has been a bit of a shock to my system. I am so bl... Wed, 16 Jul 2008 09:19:43 EST Hello from a Newbie! I have finally had enough & want the old me back! I quit smoking 3 1/2 years ago which up until now has been my excuse for the weight gain. However, I believe I've long passed the expiration date on this one and need to do something about it before I turn 40. I previously lost 30 lbs prior to my quit date, so know what to do, just lost the motivation somewhere along the way and managed to gain back what I previously lost with a great deal more (need to now lose 88 lbs). I'm a 38 year old wife... Tue, 15 Jul 2008 23:37:44 EST joined Sun I went online Sun and joined, then went out and bought what I was supposed to eat for breakfast. So far, I've done good each day, but I don't necessarily eat the dinners on the plan, and on Sunday, I had pizza. Tonight, I made burritos with turkey, but I'm still within my calories so far and I've drank all my water. My main problem right now is that I haven't gotten to the gym, but I'll get there! Hi All,

I just joined this site and have recently embarked on my weight loss journey. I am a little confused about one thing and am going to ask a question that may seem silly. This site recommends that my daily calorie intake should be 1420 - 1770. However, it recommends that I should burn only 710 calories per week through exercise. Based on these numbers, it seems that I would be taking in many more calories than I would be burning. However, I thought that in order to lose weigh... Mon, 14 Jul 2008 01:45:58 EST Hello!
