I will spare you my details in here as they are all available in my blog so please feel free to look in there. I basically read the McKenna book and applied many of the principles like the four rules of eating and the hunger chart. It has so far helped me to loose 90 pounds and I am hoping it can help me to loose the remaining 90 I feel I need to loose too.

I believe in the power of music and the way i... Now I fluctuate from 110-115 ib and I want to weigh 105 lb.
So, I began the ketogenic diet because my body was already used to no carbs and losing wasn't happening any more. For the first time in years I don;t think of food all the time. It seems like the food tastes amazing and I get full so quickly and I don't feel hungry too often. Because I noticed that I seem to be eating so little in comparison to what I used to I did a calorie count a few days in a row and i barely seem to be averaging 600 calories a day. I eat when I am hungry, what I want, chew slowly and... I've tried a lot of weight loss programs over the years...and I just recently stumbled on "eating like a thin person" and subsequently Paul McKenna's DVD's.

I'm pretty excited...so far it's working great in the sense that I don't feel deprived or anything. We are supposed to eat only when we are hungry. Problem was I seemed to feel hungry all day! My tummy gurgled, grumbled, and made all kinds of crazy noises. I drank lots of water to see if I was just thirsty, but I still feel as though I ate all day long.

My theory is that since I'm not even 2 weeks in yet, that my body is saying, "Hey, where's all the food?!" but it seems detrimental to listen to my body's cues when my mind is adding up the portio... I haven't been active at Spark People in a long time. I lost a lot of weight in 2010, but the pounds slowly crept back on since then. I didn't gain back ALL the weight I lost, but it's definitely time to get my head back in the game.

I read Paul McKenna's book a year or so ago, but I didn't implement his system. I'm eating what I want, when I want IF I am hungry and stopping when I feel my solar plexus is satisfied (love that clue). So far, so good. I don't know if I will lose weight like this. But, I am really not eating much. That may change though IF I feel hungrier on another day. It is a little challenging, but a LOT easier than tracking food, counting calories and following a meal... Time for a rethink. Back to basics. One golden rule at a time. Number one is to only eat when I'm hungry, linked to, Eat when hungry, since I ignore the hunger signals, but then eat after I'm full. I've been doing the PM system for just over a week so far and it's going well! I feel brililant so I'm hoping to see some good results. Anyway, what I want to know really is how people deal with feeling hungry just before bed. I'm struggling with this one because I've been brainwashed (perhaps) to believe it is bad to eat before bed healthwise, and weight-loss-wise those calories aren't going to be burned... Our internal dialogue, our subconcious thoughts, outside pressure - all sorts of things cause this inescapable stress. So, how DO you deal with it? Slowly! Your body will tell you it's had enough before you get the bloat!

The hunger scale is important here as well as using it to ask if you are hungry before you eat. Whilst eating consciously, your stomach will gradually start to fill and it will FEEL like it is slowly filling up. So the idea is to stop before you get... I'm voluntarily choosing foods that would be considered 'healthy' the majority of the time. Things like fruits, veggies, whole grains, brown rice, water, green smoothies, etc. I still eat Oreos and pie and chips and such, don't get me wrong! But they don't dominate my choices lately. I already decided last night (after scarfing down a ton of trail mix with no control...) that I want to give up sugar even if it's just for a few days. Tue, 6 Jan 2009 11:54:32 EST Hi! http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x19998x21501957 Hi Everyone.

I am new :) I found Paul's book quite by accident while perusing youtube.com. I have tried other faith based programs with similar principles but have always felt weighed down (not pun intended) by guilt. Paul's book was very eye opening for me.

I am so happy to be a part of this group. I was able to get the DVDs on ebay and have read the book. I am reading it again right now :)

Andrea Mon, 5 Jan 2009 16:41:37 EST New to the Team http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x19998x21399540 Hi I am new to the team. My husband just got the book last night and I read almost half of it. He has seen Paul on TLC and was intrigued. I am looking forward to finishing the book. I have developed a pattern of exercising on average 5 times a week for at least 30 minutes over the last year, with a group that counts on me to unlock the doors and put on the DVD, except on the rare occasion that I am traveling. I am a busy professional church worker in the Lutheran Church. I have the challenge ... From my reading of the EFT manual it seems that tapping acts like a homoeopathic remedy in which you feed the system large doses of the symptom you are trying to eliminate. So, how would positive tapping work? Wouldn't that just eliminate the positive behaviour or emotional state? If not, how does it work? Any input on this would be much ap...
