Fri, 4 Jan 2013 03:13:45 EST Hello from a New Member Hello everyone. I've just joined Sparkpeople a few days ago, and am trying to lose weight, live healthier, and exercise. As many of you can probably sympathize, I suffered from panic attacks for a long time and, even though I haven't had a full blown attack in quite a while (thank you, years of CBT), I can still feel that cascade starting, especially during exercise. I'm just trying to get as much exposure to the triggers as I can, and it helps to know that there's a team on Sparkpeople that ... Wed, 7 Nov 2012 21:44:45 EST anxiety with a personal trainer I just started with a personal trainer, he said he specializes in weight loss and is much more involved than many other trainers - and he wasn't kidding! he texts me every single day, telling me to eat a good breakfast, etc. This week will be my first official session with him, and he told me he needs me to come to the gym at least 2 times by myself. That wouldn't be a problem, except that he said he's there all day every day, and already I'm incredibly anxious thinking that he'll be able ... Fri, 20 Jul 2012 20:00:07 EST Hello my name is Red.. Sometimes I get panic attacks at the gym, when you have muscles people especially other women steer.. It's pretty annoying also when other people don't respect your personal space when exercising.. I am thinking purchasing steel capped boots so my toes don't get smashed, when all the newbies turn up.. Sat, 24 Dec 2011 12:25:36 EST Hi everyone I'm back on Sparkpeople after being AWOL for a while. I was doing really well up until I had to focus solely on writing my thesis. I'm trying not to be hard on myself but it's so hard not to be angry and frustrated knowing what I could have done differently. Physically I feel completely gross but the prospect of going to the gym is extremely daunting, even though a few months ago I ... Thu, 6 Oct 2011 04:12:20 EST Daily check-in thread... What's New? Thu, 4 Sep 2008 12:08:31 EST A Shout Out of Success Just wanted to shout out that I am doing well at my new job. I had a lot of anxiety leading up to it, and now that I was successful my first day without panic attacks and I really enjoyed my job. ;-)

One small step, but is a really big one for me.

-Angela- Wed, 3 Sep 2008 21:00:14 EST Hi there! I just wanted to say hello to you and let you know that I too have anxieties and it got so bad that I couldn't hold down a job. I finally got the courage to see a counselor last year and it has helped so much! Email me anytime! Cindy
Wed, 3 Sep 2008 12:24:31 EST Feeling Good today! I have been feeling a little more panic lately. Last few days I have been getting that short winded feeling. Today I went for a 20k walk. Wow I feel so much better! Excersise really helps you clean out your system! Mon, 1 Sep 2008 15:24:20 EST Hi Everyone On January 2nd of this year I decided it was time to loose the weight I had been carrying for 4 years (5 years ago I went on Atkins and lost 60lbs, after a knee injury I put it all back on plus the bonus 20 lol. October of last year I had the knee operated on and was ready to get back in shape by January)I started by counting calories and put myself on 1200 calories a day.

On January 13 (I will never forget this date) I was eating a salad watching a movie with my daughter, and it ... Sun, 31 Aug 2008 11:01:04 EST I am new too.... need a buddy! Hi everyone. I am glad to join you but upset with my struggle with anxiety. I started having panic attacks (that I actually REALIZED were panic attacks) about 2 years ago when I changed careers an it did NOT work. Once I quit that new career, my anxiety signiicantly improved and I was able to be tapered off my medications. I am upset because I recently saw my doctor and he said that my cold sweats and nausea are most likely due to anxiety/panic attacks. Looking back on my life history, I... Fri, 29 Aug 2008 14:00:10 EST Hi! Hello! I signed up for this team a few weeks ago, I think, but am just now getting around to saying hi.

I signed up because as I get down to the root causes of other issues, like emotional eating and depression, I find that there is a little spring of anxiety that keeps trickling along. I'm not sure it this is what feeds the other things (so to speak) that lead to my overeating, so I am exploring the possibility.

I do exercise regularly, since I teach fitness classe... Sun, 13 Jul 2008 13:02:36 EST New.. Where is everyone?! Hey! My name is Candice and I joined today and noticed no one's really said anything in a while. Where'd everyone go?! Tue, 3 Jun 2008 14:22:35 EST Chat Just wanted to say I'm still around. Talked to the doc and got back on Buspar. Lots going on but still truckin. Sorry not more active. Hope everyone is well. Thu, 15 May 2008 08:13:56 EST Background I started at Sparkpeople on January 8, 2007 and have been walking 3 miles/ 5 x's per week and counting calories. Started at 260 and have lost 55 pounds. I still count calories but my consistency as far as exercise has slumped. I walk my son to the sitters from work and stopped for the cold weather. I have started on an exercise bike in the evenings so hopefully I will be reporting a loss soon. I can say that even though my weight has been stuck since Christmas I have gone down a dress size. 2... Tue, 11 Mar 2008 10:54:34 EST Challenges!
