My last period was 5 months ago and that was after coming off bcp. he gave 5 days worth of provera and said i "should" have a period in 2 weeks after taking the provera. I have a transvaginal ultrasound in 4 weeks with my follow up appointment. I was also told to only drink milk or water. no more coffee or juice. My husband and I are currently TTC, so I'm not sure how this diagnosis will affect that, although it sounds like it will affect it a lot. I've been reading a lot of posts about a medication some women are on, and I hope to bring that up at my next Dr appointment, and see if that's something I can get started on. I'm trying to keep my head up! I'm so glad there is a group of people who can relate to what I'm going through! I had a miscarriage last year and lost my mother this year. On top of that, finding out I had PCOS was a big blow. Mine is not the diabetic kind. I finished my first cycle of chlomid and have been using a fertility monitor as well, only to read that it may not work for people with PCOS and chlomid can make the results wonky.

Most of my friends are either not trying or already have kids, so I don't really have... I finally found a doctor two years ago that knew just what I needed to ovulate, and that was metformin. I was only on it for two months when I got pregnant after trying for 9 yrs! My fiancé and I were so excited, and my family couldn't believe how quick the metformin worked. We go see her on the 4th of Feb. (www.fertilityconcepts.com) She seems to be the perfect doctor to go to...lots of experience. Not sure we can afford many of the options she will present us with, at least right now. But we have to know what we're up against.
Anyone else been to an RE? What is your experience? Then for some reason I decided to take one the next day, positive again, and for two more days. I thought it was weird, so I called my OBs office and they said to just take a test in 2 weeks. Well it's been two weeks, and I'm pretty sure I'm preggers again, very tender breasts and heartburn, the same early symptoms I had with my last pregnancy. I've only kept a mental track of it before (longest break was about 2-3 months) but this time, I wrote everything down. I've also been taking pregnancy tests every month and it's always a negative. I just need to vent a little, so you don't have to read this if you don't want LOL

My last round of Clomid got me to ovulate, but no BFP. The doctor wants me to move on to the next step...she left it up to us whether we want to do a cycle or two of injectables or if we want to move on to IVF. We've been looking at the pros and cons of each. I've always been wary of IVF, but it's a tough decision, especially since we're one of the lucky ones to have insurance that cover... I'm currently taking Metformin and have been trying to get pregnant for about 2 years now. I had a miscarriage last May very early on in a pregnancy, and if I can't conceive, I will definitely plan on adopting! I've been trying to conceive with my husband for over a year and was only recently diagnosed with PCOS. I'm disheartened and saddened by the news that conception will be difficult and may take years. It took us so long to get to the point that we were ready to start a family so to find out now that it may be even longer is....discouraging. Thu, 22 Apr 2010 11:18:08 EST Ready on day 13? I was thinking they were crazy, because the earliest I've ever been able to get my hcg shot before was cd17. Our last round of Clomid (same dosage), we got pregnant but had an ectopic and then took several months off TTC. And that cycle, I didn't ovulate until cd24.
<... My OBGYN is pretty sure that I have been dealing with this most of my life and it has gone undiagnosed. Prior to my first pregnancy I started taking herbs for fertility prep. I took them for a month and ended up pregnant. I'm not saying that was what got me able to be pregnant. But I was wondering if anyone else out there has tried alternative methods and had any success? I was around 120lbs over weight (gasp! I knew I was heavy but not that heavy). 2. My cholesterol was 4X the normal amount (and even though I argued about changing my diet he informed no amount of diet change would be able to bring it to healthy level)and was being put on meds i... I have opted to not take any provera at this stage as I feel that if my body doesn't want to ovulate with the help of meds then maybe I am just not at the right weight. My RE said she thought I wasn't ovulating, so I was scared I'd have to go through months of testing to find out why, and see what gets me to ovulate, and my window (due to health issues) would close. I found out yesterday that I AM Ovulating. She said it's just not "robustly". Does anyone have any idea what I can do to spruce up my ovulation? Sat, 9 May 2009 00:47:46 EST Started Clomid http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x1913x25361197 So I have started my first cycle of clomid (100mg) on Monday. The really good new is that I had my HSG last week and my tubes are fine, but the really great news is that it brought on AF! At first I wasn't sure, but I called the doctor and he said it is AF and to skip provera and start the clomid! I'm excited but realistic that this may not happen this cycle - I need to stay realistic right? I think most people's doctors start with Clomid, then move to Femara if that doesn't work. My doctor has done the opposite. I did several cycles of Femara, but failed to ovulate the last few times. With my next cycle I'll be taking 50mg of Clomid, along with my Metformin.

I really hope this works...I had my annual exam yesterday, and my doctor was really impressed with the weight I've lost. Last Tuesday I went to a fertility specialist because my fiance and I want to TTC as soon as we get married in October. I didn't want to waste any time because I knew I had PCOS, and I have kidney disease and the sooner I have kids the better fot that. Well, she told me she's pretty sure I'm not ovulating. All these years I thought I was because I'm pretty regular and get cramping in the right area every month. I have to get blood tests to confirm when T... If his tests come back normal, the doctor will check my fallopian tubes - whatever that means. That's all he said! Not why or what it will entail. I was so devastated that I could barely put a sentence together never mind... We've had 2 consults. The first was to do a complete physical and take a bunch of blood tests. The second was to look at those tests and then he told I had PCOS. He then put me on Clomid and had me have my P4 tests done for 2 months and now there is little to no contact except to refill my scrips. I haven't had any other tests done...no ultrasound to check my follicles, no follow-up blood tests...n...
