SparkPeople 40 is JUST a number! Team Messageboard for those in their 40's . We can do the same things the young ones do! As we work on our healthy life styles, this is our place to share info and motivate each other. SparkPeople 40 is JUST a number! Team Messageboard intro Hi Team 40 is just a number.
I am new to this team ,but have been with Sparkpeople since 2008. I have had a busy life so I have been off and on with my weight . I am currently 42 and still needing to get some weight off. I am looking to lose 25 lbs Thu, 11 Dec 2014 00:07:29 EST WOO HOO! Broke the 8 minute mile barrier this morning... pulled a 7:59 on one of the 5.65 miles I ran. God, I HATE running - but this was exciting for me and i just had to share. Keep working!!! Thu, 18 Jul 2013 08:56:58 EST 40? I don't FEEL 40! Mostly that's because I'll be 42 in two months. But seriously, I was diagnosed with a medical condition a couple of years ago. I gained ALL kinds of weight because of it. I started what will ultimately become a life-long course of treatment. Along with that, I got back in the gym and started running again. I've already dropped 50lbs and want to lose another 22. I know, 22lbs? That's an odd number... that'll put me back at the weight I was when I got out of the Marines 20 years ago. <BR... I've been wanting one for ages now and finally broke down and got it. I already love it.

My dad, whom I take after for most of my genetic disposition, is a heart patient, and since I'm overweight, I know i need to take better care of myself. My cholesterol is within a good range (at the last check. I'm due... Tue, 1 Jan 2013 19:18:46 EST December 2012 How are you doing? But I think we should be trying to SHOWER our selves in a bit of sweat and who knows come May we will have May FLOWERS. lol! Make yourself sweat a bit. Also, try doing some bicep curls to st... Good luck! Tammy Mon, 2 Mar 2009 12:47:38 EST Frugal Healthy Eating It seems many of us are feeling the economic pinch, which leads us to pinching pennies. Let's post ideas here for continuing to eat healthy food while not overspending our budgets. I read the grocery ads every weekend and make a weekly dinner menu based on sale items. I need to come up with a plan by December 5th. I need to get my eating and exercise down right. I think I just gained 3/4 of the weight back in one week that took me 7 months to lose. I refuse to step on the scale and depress myself. I need to eat 6 nutritious half meals per day and exercise many 'short times' per day.
If I can just get in the right frame of mind and action, I can drop an unbelievable amount of weight.
Keep it healthy! I heard that weights helps to speed up weight lost because of the muscles that you build up.
My husband informed me, "that I would never get rid of the extra flabby skin, because I've always had big arms and now that I'm older, I've lost the elasticity to tighten up my arms." He said, "that also meant my stomach as well."... Wed, 12 Mar 2008 11:15:50 EST My idea to make things easier here........
