SparkPeople SP Class of 4/27/08 to 5/3/08 Team Messageboard This team is for all members who joined SP from April 27- May 3, 2008. Welcome! SparkPeople SP Class of 4/27/08 to 5/3/08 Team Messageboard Team status Well, we continue to drop in the rankings. Is anyone out there? I have had extremely limited response and am considering making the team inactive.

Thoughts? Thu, 14 May 2015 13:11:40 EST Hungry for sweets? Well, I have developed quite a sweet tooth, so I am looking for healthy snacks to satisfy that.

Today I pureed 1/2 c each of strawberries and blueberries, 1 packet Equal, plus 1 tbsp fat free half and half, warmed it in the microwave, and poured it over a split English muffin with a bit of lemon curd. Just like cobbler for 230 calories.

would like ideas for fewer calories! Tue, 13 May 2014 16:33:02 EST Another Sparkversary - Who is still here? Still tracking and maintaining!

The boards for this team have been very quiet. I am just as guilty ~ between work, hubbie's new business, and the grands, I barely have time to track.

Hope everyone is doing well and hitting their goals! Thu, 10 Apr 2014 09:16:19 EST Anybody out there? Holidays are coming! Just wondering who is still here. Weight is still holding, but with the holidays approaching (or here if you count the annual deluge of Halloween candy), I am thinking we will all be needing support and suggestions.

I plan to make healthier dishes for the parties and watch portion control. Exercise is a top priority, in part because of the mood-lifting properties this darker time of year. I am working running back into my exercise after a hiatus due to injury. Hope I don't re-i... Mon, 4 Nov 2013 07:35:39 EST What do you add to oatmeal? Trying to get my life back on track after the holidays and WAY too much fat/calories. I plan to eat more oatmeal since it is nutritious and filling. But, let's face it, oatmeal can be kind of BORING. So, I have tried adding the ingredients listed below to change up my breakfast. Any others?

Low fat yogurt (make the oatmeal a bit thick if you add this)
Peanut butter (1 tablespoon before you microwave and stir - adds protein)
Dark chocolate chips (just a tablespoon - g... Mon, 7 Jan 2013 08:17:17 EST Fitbit Anyone bought it and using it along with SparkPeople? Sat, 28 Apr 2012 09:41:33 EST Motivation Site with some good article reading on the subject; we're starting into our sixth year here soon; what issues are you having?

ation

Tue, 10 Apr 2012 10:47:10 EST Good news about chocolate From Dr. Weil's newsletter:

"Actress Katherine Hepburn credited her famously slim build to "a lifetime of chocolate," and now a new investigation from California suggests that eating chocolate is 'calorie neutral' and doesn't cause weight gain. Researchers from the University of California, San Diego set out to test the hypothesis that eating small amounts of chocolate on a regular basis wouldn't contribute to weight gain. They analyzed information from 1,000 overweight but not obe... Thu, 5 Apr 2012 07:14:08 EST Interesting complementary site I've been working on the "Daily Challenge" site the last couple weeks and find it enjoyable and easy; kind of a spark to get me over here Sparking more deeply:

gnup
Thu, 22 Mar 2012 11:48:55 EST first day hello spark my first day on my healthy plan i need some luck :) xx Fri, 5 Aug 2011 04:47:44 EST How's your 4th year going? Wed, 9 Mar 2011 10:23:29 EST Now that we are through the holidays... I am trying really hard to get back on track.

Last week I met my personal goal of getting in my cardio.

This week I am working on getting in cardio plus strength training.

Next week I will continue plus up the fruit and vegetable content in my diet.

Hopefully, that will get me back on track! So, what is a good (non-food) reward for meeting these goals? Thu, 13 Jan 2011 10:01:13 EST Good news/bad news I think we are not very active on this team because most people have dropped out of SparkPeople and using it for weight loss or lifestyle change.

Some, it's probably true, have gotten where they aimed for and either maintained or wandered away through time.

But then there are some of us still here but not using this team. Sat, 16 Oct 2010 09:20:23 EST Wondering How Many Are Still Hanging in There? I am wondering how many of us who started our weight journey in April-May of 2008. Odds are that there are not that many who have truly changed our lifestyle permanently. I continue to attend a support group for accountability. I also have registered with the National Weight Control Registry. I have been able to maintain my weight loss for 9 months without much effort by continuing to eat healthy, weigh myself and get plenty of exercise everyday. However, I feel so disappointed in myself because I just can't get motivated to get exercising!!! I have these wonderful visions of myself getting up early and "heading out" for a walk/jog thing, but so far it's only happened twice since I've been a part of SP. I'm just too lazy! I end up hitting the snooze button until I absolutely must get out of bed or be late. I'm stuck! Any suggestions, comment... Wed, 21 May 2008 10:37:39 EST Bad day yesterday I am travelling for business this week - something I have never done before. I felt lonely yesterday, I guess. I ordered a medium pizza and cinnasticks from Dominos and ate the whole thing. My calories yesterday were 4700.

I woke up feeling like I was hung over although I had no alcohol.

I did exercise yesterday - which I've never done in a hotel - so I was proud of myself for that.

Today I am going to try to just pick myself up and do better. I am g... Tue, 20 May 2008 07:27:13 EST We're still #1 We're still #1 on the leaderboard. I'm pretty impressed. I kind of expected the newer classes of fresh starters to challenge that. It's been almost 5 yrs. since I started losing the weight. And I still don't 'see' a thin or skinny person.

Do we ever reach a point (you think?) when we look at ourselves & don't see a fat person? Sat, 17 May 2008 08:16:01 EST Have you moved on to Stage 2? I've decided not to move on yet. I have one Fast Break goal I'm not consistently meeting - doing something active outdoors. I'm realizing how little I get out of the house - mostly just to run errands. So, I'm gonna give myself a little more time to meet that goal before moving on. I know if I do, I'll feel much better about starting Stage 2. Thu, 15 May 2008 21:46:39 EST Can't find nutritional info on restaurants... Is anyone else having this problem? What's up with that! So my hubby is having surgery tomorrow and we took him to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch since he won't be out and about for a while. After lunch I went online to find nutritional info to log, and it isn't there... as in isn't anywhere! The best I could find were some sparse facts on their sauces, but nothing for the actual menu items.

Isn't there a law that says these things need to be publicly accessible? In recent years, I've come to enjoy the feeling of being hungry and hate the feeling of being full. I think it might be a combination of my type A personality (being hungry makes me feel in control), my long-standing issues with food, etc.

Being full (not even painfully full, just normal full) usually makes me feel really gross. I always feel better if I eat, but just enough to take the edge off of being hungry.

I know it's probably abnormal, but does anyone else have ...
