Taking care of ourselves so we can take care of our patients. SparkPeople Sparked Nursing Students Team Messageboard Getting started Hi! I'm a nursing student. Currently I'm in summer hiatus but will be entering into the 4th quarter and last quarter before being able to take the LPN NClex, and then there will be 3 more quarters after that (Graduate with an RN in December 2017)

I've gained 10 pounds during this first year but I have decided I want to lose 27 pounds. I'm 33 years old and my body is shifting from 20's body type. :) Sun, 31 Jul 2016 12:49:53 EST Hey I am a nursing student from Illinois. Looking to get fit and keep my mind on the goals I have! Tue, 22 Apr 2014 18:08:13 EST Hello from a Second Semester Nursing Student! My name is Meg and nursing school is certainly taking its merry toll on me! I made the "mistake" of stepping on a scale today. I have gained 21 pounds in a year. That puts me at almost 60 pounds over my optimum weight, and my knees are creaky enough to prove it. I am so glad to find this forum! I'm a full-time nursing student, part-time caregiver, mom and wife. I am hoping to find the motivation I need here to get things turned around and make my scrubs look awesome! Sun, 6 Apr 2014 21:45:40 EST Hello!! Hello, My name is Alley. What type of exercises to you like to be involved in?

I'll start. I find it easiest to exercise after supper. That encourages me to eat light at supper so I can exercise without hurting. Sun, 29 Jan 2012 14:19:13 EST Play Therapy Hi there!

I am required to create and implement a play therapy intervention during my pediatrics rotation this semester. Being that I am not the most creative person alive by any means, I thought I would ask you all if you had any ideas or maybe you have had to do something similar? It has to be therapeutic, but I won't know who my patient is until March. And as you guys know that is going to be tough while in nursing school! But this time around I am determined to win this battle. Mon, 16 Jan 2012 15:02:47 EST I hate this rut of nothingness Because I graduated high school in June 2011, I still have some prerequisites to do before I can apply for the LPN to RN transition program at my school. With the way the classes are offered I will miss the next deadline that only comes once a year. All this comes to the point that I will have to wait an entire year to begin the program, making me an RN in 2014. SO much time wasted because of lack of opportunities where I live for LPN to further their education. Sometimes I get really depress... Tue, 17 May 2011 14:09:01 EST Senior nursing student Okay, so, I've always been "fluffy", but nursing school has really helped me in packing on the pounds. Between trying to remember all 206 bones, all the joints, and what not, and finding my "unknown" in microbiology in my pre-reqs, I managed to completely loose my young girlish figure. Now, after finishing my first year of nursing school (as well as binge drinking for a month to celebrate my 21st), I have more than packed on the pounds and added sleep deprivation as well as an insane amount o...
