The fact is that my health is going to start suffering soon if I don’t turn myself around and start making big changes. So here goes! Mon, 1 Nov 2010 13:32:47 EST I need to feel sexy again!!! Hey. Wed, 6 Oct 2010 19:11:16 EST Portion Control Tips & Tricks For me, the biggest hurdle is portion control. I could easily (supposing I could stop myself) eat about a third of what I'm eating now and be happy (and full) - I've done it before.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for getting back into this habit? Wed, 29 Sep 2010 13:51:00 EST Today I rebelled I only recently started this lifestyle change. I'm a nube. Lol losing weight has never been a struggle for me... Ever. It took me exercising 1.5 hours a day for 5 months to loose the extra 40 lbs I was carrying. Then, I met my now-hubby, started riding on his truck (he was a long haul trucker), stopped exercising, gained the 40 lbs back, and got pregnant with my son, all in 1.5 years.... So far I have been loving it. It's amazing to see groups like this, as I'm sure you can all attest to, being 50+ pounds overweight (for most of my life anyway) can make you feel awfully isolated. Nice to know I'm not alone :)

I am 22, 5'7, and 205 lbs. My goal is to get down 70 lbs. I have given myself a year to accomplish this. lol.. so we'll see. Good luck everyone! I am new on Spark People, and starting my new lifestyle. I was so pumped yesterday when I joined to finally do this, and finally change my life, and then I went to lunch today, and it's like I completely forgot what my goals were. Is it true that you can, because of eating too few calories, keep yourself from losing weight? It doesn't seem logical to me that your body would, although taking in fewer calories than it burns, manage to not lose any weight. Right now I'm eating about 1200 a day. Because I am so heavy, is it possible that I should be eating a bit more than that? I want to lose at least 2 pounds a week.

I figure that 3500 (calories per pound of fat) times two is 7000, divided by 7 is 1000 calorie... What are some tips for jump starting my metabolism? Sun, 23 Nov 2008 09:12:05 EST Question: Workout Time Per Day I read an article today that said for sustained weight loss you should exercise at least one hour per day five days a week. In fact, the article seemed to convey that if you don't exercise one hour per day five days a week, you're destined to gain any weight you lose right back.

Does that sound right to anyone here? I realize you have to change your lifestyle, but one hour a day five times a week for the rest of my life sounds a little extreme. Tell me if I'm wrong and I'll really ... I am new to sparkpeople but not at all new to dieting. A few years ago I weighed about 210lbs and then got down to 133lbs (only 3 lbs away from my goal).
