Sun, 2 Jun 2013 16:29:44 EST New member Hi,

I lost 50 pounds and now I am trying to keep it off. It's been 5 months since I reached my ideal weight. I am looking for support and ideas that have helped others to keep their weight off permanently. About 10 years ago I lost a lot of weight and then I gained back, so I am terrified that that is going to happen again.
I am eating right (most of the time!) exercising everyday, counting calories, etc,

God bless you!

<em... Tue, 21 May 2013 12:09:37 EST May 2013-Let's keep the momentum going! I am encouraged by the work we did in April, some good habits were formed, and progress is happening, even if there are occasional setbacks, those are just more reasons to stick to it, and keep coming back and being accountable!

So post your goal for May, whether it's to continue along the path from April, to step it up or try something new, or to ratchet it back and enjoy some steadiness.

I'm right at my goal weight right now, and have been tracking regularly, with the ... Wed, 3 Apr 2013 10:38:44 EST March 2013: Stay the course, or switch it up? So in February, we picked one thing, made it the focus, and I think we got some good results!

For March, I thought you have a choice, stay the course, remain focused on your "one thing" if you feel you need more time to make it part of your lifestyle, or switch it up, if you want to find a new focus, and feel your "one thing" is ingrained enough that you are now doing it out of habit rather than out of daily focus.

Post your goal for March, and let's make it happen! Sat, 2 Mar 2013 11:18:12 EST February 2013: pick one thing! I was pondering what to do for a February challenge, and I thought I should make it simple. And then I was listening to a fitcast podcast, and one of the guests mentioned that it was harder to complete goals if you add too many, like with one goal to focus on you are 80% likely to complete that goal, but if you add a second goal, the odds go way down, I believe below 40% (but I don't recall the specifics) and get even lower with more changes.

So think about what you really want,... Sat, 2 Feb 2013 15:55:49 EST What about short breaks now and then? I have been an avid exerciser for 20+ years and I truly love it. There are times, however, that I get so busy with work and my kids' activities that I can't do the 6 workouts a week. I feel the "exerciser guilt" and I turn into a basket case. Is it ever ok to take a week where you workout 3 or 4 days and not 6 or you do an "easy" week of just workouts for fun and not kill yourself?

What do you think? Wed, 16 Jan 2013 11:56:33 EST BAD HABIT #1 Hi Team :-)

I have picked up that dreaded habit of drinking Coke and Pepsi again. Not diet but regular, sugary, syrupy soda.

My bad habit to break this week will be no regular soda.

Mon - Fri - No regular soda.

Anyone want to join?

Pick your own habit to break. We can check in every night to record our progress. Sun, 6 Jan 2013 21:29:25 EST Kicking Bad Habits :-) Just wanted to pass along something that I do to kick bad habits. It really has worked for me.

I pick a bad habit every week to kick until I kick it. I can usually do this in two weeks.

What I do is choose one bad habit such as ice cream. I will fast from ice cream Mon - Fri. Eat what I want of it on Saturday and Sunday. I fast it again on Monday - Friday. By this time my mind is realizing that I really don't need the ice cream so the cravings for it goes away.
... Thu, 3 Jan 2013 19:39:32 EST January 2013-New Year, New start! The days are getting shorter, there is a crispness in the air, new fruits and veggies are appearing in the produce section. State your goal, and track it!

Sat, 1 Sep 2012 16:20:16 EST August: challenge yourself! Time to shake it up? I've been putting up nutrition tracking challenges for a few months now, and thought I'd expand that a bit. I'm tracking food, at least 4-5 days a week.

Last week was just plain crappy and I knew I was going to over my calorie limit on a couple of days. Sun, 25 Apr 2010 18:32:10 EST New Maintainer Hi - I joined SP in December 2009 and set a goal to lose 10 stubborn pounds. While I joined this group to hopefully keep motivated to maintain my weight loss, I was also hoping to get some ideas from others about how they felt when they'd reached their goal and had to start shopping for new clothes. While this may not seem like a big deal to most, I'm not a shopper. My idea of clothing usually runs with Walmart. However, I work in an office where the dress code is skirts and dresses, and Walmart really doesn't have much ... Sat, 20 Mar 2010 19:27:13 EST How Did the Octo Mom Lose the Weight ?
