I don't know much about my GERD/Acid Reflux, but I've had it since I was about five years old. I've never had any heartburn or indigestion. My only real symptom is the regurgitating of food or bile. I've been told by a few doctors that if the medications continued to not work for me, that I would need surgery on my throat. I was wondering if anyone else had ever been told that. Tue, 20 Oct 2009 01:01:08 EST New to this team but not SP Hi I was dignosed with GERD, hiatel hernia and a couple other things years ago. Also, for the past couple of weeks, I've had a sore throat, a phlegmy cough(nothing's coming out). Is that part of Gerd, or could be just a sinus infection or something? I'm so confused! To my surprise it seems it's just the opposite. I found this information very fascinating. Just wondered if you've heard of it and what you think of the idea? I'm not suggesting that this is a cure-all thing but good information about the many uses of honey. It claims to help with the glycemic index and acid reflux.

www.bene... New here, and I have a serious concern. I have some GERD. It isn't very bad, but comes upon me at times. I had read, and my doctor has told me, that GERD can have the same symptoms as a heart attack. Last night I awoke with pain in my left arm. I usually get pain in my left shoulder after I eat, and was tested by my cardiologist. he said I didn't have a heart problem. I've never had pain in the whole arm though. Could this be a symptom of GERD? It didn't matter what I ate or drank, it seemed to come back up. The only thing that helped was milk and eventually it had to be warm milk. Tue, 5 Feb 2008 13:51:43 EST New To This Group I've been a member of SP for 1/2 year now, but never discovered this site until today. I have been dealing with Hiatal Hernia and Acid Reflux for about 15 years now. It sucks. I was taking Aciphex daily, but it was way too expensive, so, now I'm starting Prilosec. Hope it works good. What you eat and drink has so much to do with how badly you feel. This whole thing really can limit just what you can have. I'm still learning what triggers my pain and discomfort. Best of Wishes to all.... Sun, 3 Feb 2008 21:17:43 EST Time to Up the Ante! Hi everyone! Shari R. here. It's that time again--redoing our monthly fitness challenges! Sat, 2 Feb 2008 00:03:41 EST Hello! New to team, but not to SP. I've been on SP for over a year. In that time I've lost 25 pounds, regained 14 and am working on losing again. Urg! Fri, 1 Feb 2008 17:48:58 EST My Prevacid is too expensive! I went to refill my Prevacid prescription today, and now I have to pay $88 for a 30 day supply; that is way to expensive, and yes, that is WITH insurance! After that refill is gone, I'm going to use the Prilosec OTC, that's not cheap either, but way less expensive than my Prevacid will be.

I see my internist in April, for my regular bi-annual check up. I will ask him if he has a cheaper alternative, or if I should just used the Prilosec. When I was first diagnosed with acid reflux... I seem to be suffering a little more lately with the GERD. Don't know if it's all the raw veggies and fruits got it flared up or what, but it's worth it to lose!! Look forward to meeting all. Please do not post your email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, or other personal information in this forum at all. Thanks! Thu, 6 Sep 2007 19:07:36 EST Simply Amazing... Flat-out unbelievable. Since I started on this program, I have had only one flare-up, and that was because I didn't take my meds before I ate! Turns out, eating "real" food (i.e. the stuff you actually cook for yourself) really does reduce flare-ups. This is probably my biggest motivator so far.

Shari Wed, 5 Sep 2007 17:53:46 EST Welcome to our team. Hi folks!
