It doesn't look like there's been much activity in this team since last year, but if anyone is out there, I'm Denise. My husband and I are Workampers, which means we live in our RV and we travel around the country from job to job. Even in this constrained space, I've made one quilt and I'm working on another. I like to make quilts for specific people and have them in mind the whole time I'm putting their quilt together. I'm currently working on a dorm quilt for my nephew who will be gradu... Wed, 18 Feb 2015 21:54:43 EST August 2014 Goals and Resolutions Here it is August, school is starting, and summer is ending. We have spent a lot of time camping and traveling with the grands this summer and my exercise routine has suffered for it. While I have managed to get my walking in, my eating habits and cycling have not fared as well. I did finish one quilt for a friend in July and the forest service quilt should be finished this week. So for August my resolutions are:

1) Get my nutrition back under control and record daily
2) F... Sun, 3 Aug 2014 00:09:40 EST July 2014 goals and resolutions OK, not being alowed to ride my bike for the past 6 weeks has taken it's toll. And I did not do well enough on watching my calories. And taking trips every other week hasn't helped either. So I have shamefully gained 5 pounds. Now that I am allowed to ride again, it is too blamed hot for me (I don't ride if it is in the 90's). So, now I am using my trainer and my kayak and my goals for the summer are:

1) to lose my 5 pounds
2) finish the forest service quilt and wall hangin... Fri, 4 Jul 2014 11:14:05 EST June 2014 goals and resolutions Well, I did not do well in May. I have had some breathing problems and the doctor took me off my bike and limited my exercise till they finish tests. That won't be till the middle of June, so not much riding in June either. Perhaps that will help me do more sewing, but it will require some strict diet control. For June I will:

1) Keep my nutrition below 1100 calories a day
2) Walk at least 1 mile daily
3) Get another quilt in the frame and hopefully quilted
4) Fi... Sun, 1 Jun 2014 22:53:05 EST Hi There I'm new here. I'm Emily, a 30 something mom with 2 boys. They are 9 and 1. And so busy. I have used the excuse that I'm too busy taking care of everyone else and everything else to take care of myself. And I'm not going to do that anymore. I love to quilt. It's not a very get up and moving hobby. lol. Fri, 2 May 2014 12:36:19 EST April 2014 goals and resolutions Well, I did pretty well in March, except for the bike riding. Hopefully it is finally gonna warm up and I can get more miles in. Here are resolutions for April:

Apr 2014 goals:
1) lose 4 pounds
2) ride 200 miles
3) clean and plant flowerbeds
4) complete 2 quilt UFOs
Tue, 1 Apr 2014 22:58:13 EST March 2014 goals/re olutions And yet another month has come and gone. I didn't quite reach all my goals, but am getting closer to them. Hopefully March will warm up a bit and we can all get outside and work on our aerobic exercises and get some much needed vitamin D. For March I am going to continue to increase my cycling miles, but add a household goal as well.

Mar 2014 goals:
1) lose 4 pounds
2) ride 200 miles
3) clean/organize one room and closet weekly
4) complete 1 UFO

... It is so hard to ride a bike in the snow and ice and hard to quilt when you work every day. So for Feb I will once again attempt to ride my bike 150 miles and get my friend's quilt back to her.

my Feb goals:
1) lose 3 pounds
2) ride my bike 150 miles
3) finish my friend's quilt and get it back to her.
Sun, 2 Feb 2014 15:48:51 EST New love quilts Hi everyone. I am new to the group, need to renew my spirit and finish some UFOs;) Mon, 20 Jan 2014 08:45:36 EST Jan 2014 goals/res olutions: New year, new us. Here it is, the end of an old year and time to think about what we would like to accomplish in the new one. I have been challenged with some health issues these last 2 months and that has changed my expectations. I had my gall bladder removed in November and found out I have liver disease. I have had to drastically change my diet and exercise routines and was cautioned not to lose more than 2 pounds a week due to possible worsening of the liver condition, so weight loss will be slower tha... Mon, 30 Dec 2013 11:06:21 EST Nov 2013 Resoluti ns/goals Well, I did not do well with my Oct resolutions or goals. I did get my photo's sorted, but that is about all. Have to see a surgeon Friday about my gallbladder. Have stones and sludge and my GP has me on limited exercise to prevent rupture. So, for November I am modifying my goals:

1) Get photo albums ready for Christmas
2) Finish my 3 quilts for Christmas gifts
3) Once cleared by MD start riding my bike 4 days a week.
Sun, 3 Nov 2013 21:53:23 EST Need some fat quarters I am making an Old Maid's Puzzle for my Mom, in blues and browns. The scheme I am using requires lights and darks. I have tons of blue, but need some light tan prints to help with the brown squares. I would need maybe 3-4 fat quarter pieces'. She is in assisted living and adjusting slowly. - Diane - 304 Thu, 24 Oct 2013 16:44:14 EST October 2013 resoluti ns/goals I must say I did do a bit better last month. I got the 6 quilts for the Trail Run pieced and quilted, and I have gotten back on the bike. Tracking the nutrition is still a bit sketchy, but I am doing better.

For October I am going to:
1) Track all my nutrition
2) Exercise 3 days a week
3) Organize my photo files for 2013
Wed, 2 Oct 2013 17:42:30 EST Quilting Questions I made a baby churn dash quilt over the here is the question. When making the half triangles mine always seem to come out beveled. I'm not sure why. Shouldn't they be a perfect square? I make them by using squares and just stitching 1/4" on both sides of the center. This is just perplexing because while the quilt turned out nice and my lines matched up the diamond that comes together when they are joined aren't all the same. I'd attach a pic of what I'm talking about if I ... Mon, 9 Sep 2013 19:19:50 EST August 2013 goals/re olutions My how time flies, here it is August already. I didn't track my food like I wanted for July, but I did keep a log. For August I must start tracking better. The grands will be back in school soon so I can get back on the bike. Gotta get them to riding with me even if it is short ones. DD and I have been working on sorting boys toys/clothes, and cleaning out closets and storage houses getting ready for a yard sale. Gotta, gotta, gotta!
Sun, 9 Jun 2013 11:09:01 EST May 2013 goals and resolutions. Ok, I am still playing catch up. I was doing so well with my bike riding and diet, then the second blackberry winter hit with cold, rain, hail, and generally icky weather. May isn't starting off well, but I am determined to maintain my weight loss. I set a goal of 2 pounds per month, and I am down 9 so far this year, so that part is going well. I'm just finishing a double irish chain quilt and planning for my next quilt. I'm a beginner, but I have noticed my favorite part is the binding - stiching by hand. So, I'm going to try hand sewing a quilt. I love the hexagon - garden pattern (my grandmother made beautiful ones...) I have been looking at videos off the internet - so many different methods. Anyone in this group - played wtih the hexagons before? Do you cut your scraps in squares or ... Sat, 16 Mar 2013 19:27:14 EST March 2013 resolutions and goals Oh, where did Feb go? Wed, 1 Aug 2012 10:24:26 EST Hello from Rainy Ireland Hi all - I live in Ireland although I am English. Perhaps next week will be cooler and I'll feel better.

For July I would love to ride 500 miles, but with temps hovering in the triple digits, that ain't gonna happen. Hi, my name is Lisa and I'm new to the team! Not new to spark, been here off and on since 2006.

I'm working on self-care...and part of self-care for me is to be creative. I've put away my quilting and creative ventures too long and hope to get some inspiration here! :) Tue, 23 Aug 2011 10:12:29 EST The Inspiration Guild My grandmother lost her battle with ovarian cancer when I was 8 years old. I found the following:
per.aspx while on the Blank Quilting website to browse their fabrics. I am planning on sending in a block, in honor of my grandmother. I wanted to share it with everyone, just in case anyone else is interested in helping out this cause. Tue, 2 Aug 2011 12:14:55 EST 2011 August Resolutions Well, I must admit. I started my July resolutions and did so very well for 2 weeks, then just sort of slipped away. For August I MUST start doing better with my nutrition. That is my goal, again. Sun, 31 Jul 2011 20:57:01 EST I'm alive !!! We are in Panama City Beach with the grands. There is no WiFi in the room or on our balcony, so I have to come to the bar to get service (not a great place to hang out with a 7 and 4 year old). Sorry I haven't been around, but we will be heading home tomorrow and I'll get pictures posted Sunday. Fri, 29 Jul 2011 15:28:48 EST Posted a couple pictures Hi All,
I posted a couple pictures of the blocks I have made. They are going to be hard to part with.
Check out my pictures on my Sparks page.
Sandy Fri, 22 Jul 2011 15:04:38 EST Missed this Swap I'm so sad I missed this swap was on vacation and no internet, TV or phone for a week and I survived! But I did want to say I have checked out a few of the pictures that some of you have posted and they look great! Please keep posting as Red and White would not have been colors I would have chosen for me to do myself but I am definitely reconsidering this after viewing some of the squares.
Keep posting and when you have the quilt completed please post again. Thu, 30 Dec 2010 08:47:47 EST Take two Hi there. I joined a couple of years ago and didn't really take it very seriously. Now, I am much more ready than I was before. I do need some support though. What I mean by that is exercising twice a day, eliminating all sugar, doing yoga and meditation, drinking 8 glasses of water, etc. I am going to start small with small goals each week. Th...
