SparkPeople Spiritual / Interfaith Team Messageboard No matter your path, you have something to offer and to learn from the paths of others. An open community for those of us who may follow a religion, but don't want to limit our spirits. SparkPeople Spiritual / Interfaith Team Messageboard Let's Come together! Have been MIA due to being very sick for awhile. Things are looking up so I'd love for the team to come together again! Anyone game? Happy Valentines day and blessed Lent to the Christians in our mist as we take this journey of reflection and renewal. 41 Fri, 15 Feb 2013 00:09:57 EST Hello from the Pacific Northwest I just re-joined SparkPeople after a long period of inactivity. When I joined SP before I didn't last more than a couple of days, but right now I have come to the point in my life where I am ready for real change. My goal is to lose a little over 100 lbs to get my body to an ideal weight, while at the same time finding spiritual and mental exercises so I can find a perfect harmonic balance between mind, body, and spirit. Tue, 31 Jan 2012 16:26:37 EST Greetings from New England I am trying to get more involved with the social networking aspect of Spark. As so many have observed, its easier to keep connected to the journey to better health and fitness when you have others around you. I have been involved in spiritual groups before, all earth-based, Wiccan, general pagan/animist. I felt very connected, and miss those days. Many of the folks I once spent my time with have moved, but I still live in my home town.

I believe that community means so much mo... Mon, 21 Nov 2011 19:02:44 EST Teamleadership It has been a few months since I have posted on this team. I tried in the past to get topics discussed, books read, etc etc but to no avail. people seem to just join the team and then drop it. I'm still very interested in being a team leader/ co- team leader. Also zany one who does want to be a team leader is certainly welcome! There is not too many things in life more important than worshiping and living our faiths side by side, so welcome welcome and maybe we can get this team off the groun... Sun, 10 Jul 2011 03:21:45 EST Hello Everyone I am fairly new to spark and decided to browse through some teams and happened upon this one which greatly interests me. I have a traditionalist conservative christian background but now am on a more mystical/spiritual path and while christianity is still my primary influence I have also embraced teaching , practices from other religions/spiritual sources and am still seeking new ways of gaining wisdom and continuing my spiritual development from a variety of religious /spiritual paths. <BR... Sat, 11 Jun 2011 23:43:44 EST Inspiration Hi my name is Amy. And I'm looking for people to talk with. To share thoughts. People who can help me find motivation. I just want to see the place going. Its so dead. I really wanted to find others like myself who are trying to grow and keep moving forward in the crazy upside times we live in. Sun, 30 Jan 2011 23:02:01 EST The Prophet: Week 2 - Marriage "Then Almitra spoke again and said, "And what of Marriage, master?"
And he answered saying:
You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when white wings of death scatter your days.
Aye, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea ... Fri, 21 Jan 2011 12:13:12 EST The Prophet: Week 1 - Love No need to start small! So, what do you think about Love?

Then said Almitra, "Speak to us of Love."
And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them.
And with a great voice he said:
When love beckons to you follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though h... Mon, 10 Jan 2011 23:26:22 EST Places In Between Hello all,

Today is the last day of 2010, but to me it never seems like the New Year has really begun until Spring begins and nature comes back to life. I think of the time between 1. January and the vernal (spring) equinox as the gestation period for the new year. It's a time of limbo, where the Old Year is dead, but the world hasn't woken up yet. Perfect time to shake off old habits, and plant the seeds for newness in our selves!

In this liminal time I pl... Fri, 31 Dec 2010 12:51:29 EST I'm Back! Hello all,

I created this team quite a while ago, and then life got in my way, and I never did much as a team leader. I'm a student, and my studies took over every amount of energy I had. I'm sorry about that.

I'm trying to get my body back in shape, and my mind back in balance. And so I find myself returning to SparkPeople, and to this team I created. But how it's grown! I'm so happy to see so many people! I'll try to be more interesting!

I nee... Fri, 31 Dec 2010 12:38:57 EST Never Give Up Make your day special, in the site of the Lord. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. Listen to your heart and follow your goal in Him, who died for us and took our penalty to save us. For those who loves His name, we can do everything through Him for our health. Be faithful to the truth, and continue to walk in the truth. I'll try harder later ;o) Mon, 19 Apr 2010 14:14:21 EST New and Curious I describe myself as mostly Episcopalian, a bit Buddhist (mindfulness and Zen meditation), and a bit Jungian. I don't know if that makes me a good fit with this team. I love lively discourse, quotes, book discussions and recommendations, and more. I want a safe place where everyone might express their opinions and ask their questions as long as they are respectful to others' beliefs. In return, when I join a team, I commit to being an active member in the belief (hope) I have things to co... Sat, 3 Apr 2010 01:12:37 EST newbie checking in... Hello everyone! I love to talk with other open minded people. I happen to be a Bahai, any other Bahai's out there? I only want to lose weight ONCE. My mom has a weight problem and I can remember all the ups and downs of her "dieting" when i was a kid. I hope that the support here helps me succeed. Mon, 1 Mar 2010 23:43:33 EST Glad I found this group! Hi, my name is Beth and I've just returned to Sparkle after undoing everything I did the first time. God has a strong pull on my life, I believe there is just one and we waste alot of time arguing, even killing each other over something no man can define instead of just honoring the Creator. I'm currently studying the Bahai Faith. Looking for some friends, so visit my spark page! Fri, 1 Jan 2010 20:36:10 EST Gypsy wandering through Just wanted to say "hi"! I'm a newbie, and a little overwhelmed by all this website has to offer. I am very excited to find this group and hope that it will be a great point of inspiration in my path towards healthy living! What holidays in your faith are in March? Why and how are they celebrated? Thu, 5 Mar 2009 17:10:32 EST A little advice would be much appreciated Quite often for my job, we have offsite department meetings, always over lunch. For the most part, we wind up at an all-you-can-eat pizza, pasta, and salad buffet. Holy temptation, Batman! I don't ever do well at all. We had one earlier this week; what a joke that was for my "healthy lifestyle." I don't have a choice to attend these and completely avoid the temptation, so I was hoping that someone would have a bit of insight for me in situations such as this, such as willpower tips to ea... She did a workshop on spirituality and what it means to each of us. Any opinions about the show or your personal take on what constitutes your spirituality? Wed, 7 Jan 2009 18:35:36 EST Crazy Question Everyone knows those handy dandy canned soups, the healthy choice, the ones that EVERY recipie calls for including a bunch on Spark Recipies. So here's the question - does anyone know anyone who knows the original recipies for soups like cream of mushroom, or cream of celery? I am extremely allergic to Monosodium Glutemate, and it is in EVERY canned soup out there, progresso used to be ok, but recently soups I used to buy now say MSG on the back. I really would love to be able to make casse... Thu, 24 Jul 2008 23:24:15 EST Worst Admin Ever Hey guys! So, I created this group because I was bummed that there was no place for people to share spiritual stuff. And then I never do anything. Mea Culpa. I've just moved to a new country and I'm freakin out. It's wonderful, but there has been little time for teh internetz.

So, if anyone is interested in becoming a group leader, let me know and I'll turn the group over to you. I think this could be an awesome group with the right leadership. Sat, 21 Jun 2008 17:01:01 EST Quotes I thought this would be a good place to post inspiring spiritual quotes.

Here's one to start:

"The grace of God means something like: Here is your life. You might never have been, but you are because the party wouldn't have been complete without you. Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Don't be afraid. I am with you. Nothing can ever separate us. It's for you I created the universe. I love you. There's only one catch. Like any other gift, the gi... Fri, 20 Jul 2007 09:20:10 EST Welcome! In my opinion, any healthy lifestyle requires a healthy soul. But as I browsed the religious section, I noticed that there was no interfaith area where people of all faiths could share knowledge and support.

This is a place to share the beauty and the wisdom of the path you have chosen or been called to. Of course, tolerance and understanding is vital to a group like this. We're not here to condemn or disapprove, but rather to share and support. Thu, 19 Jul 2007 11:53:35 EST
