In the past couple of weeks, she's piddled outside of the litterbox... basically because I think she was barely in it.

I've thought about getting a larger one -- with a slightly higher entry, but I think this one is easier for her, though she had no co... But until Mar of 2012 I have always lived with a cat hater or someone who was allergic. So, when I got my own apartment, the first thing I did was go to the Animal Shelter to adopt a cat. Miss Kitty, as she was known by them, was my fifth choice, because she seemed to be a bully, having chased all the other cats out from under the bench in their room. I have bad arthritis and need /want to loose 90 pounds. I find it very difficult to walk as my feet hurt so much. I work at a no kill shelter with cats. I am a TLC giver. That means I work with cats that have been so mistreated that they are so scared to death . They are not adoptable. So with plenty of TLC I get them back to where they trust people again and can be adoptable. It's a lot of work . But now I need some TLC in helping me to loose... She has been pretty sick, and the first vet seems to have ignored her symptoms (or perhaps he just never did the tests he should have) and now she seems to be in pretty bad shape after I took her to a second vet. We opted out of surgery because of her age (plus, they said they may not be able to get it all and the cancer could have spread anyway), but now the tumor feels like a pingpong ball on her belly. Does anyone have any advice? She is still eating, drinking, walking around (more gingerly now) and using the litter box. Her "brother" of 17 years passed away about a month ago. It's just odd that she is sick n... I've been trying to get rid of them for a couple weeks now from all three of them but now noticed tonight that 1 of my cats has a lot of scabs around her neck. She doesn't wear a collar so is it from the fleas & should I take her to the vet? What product is the best to get rid of fleas. I've put Hartz Ultra Guard on them & have been using the Hartz flea spray that you spray on them & leave on for 10 min then towel dry them & brush them but fleas are still present.... After hitting a rough patch that lasted two years I've decided to come back to Sparkpeople. A lot has has happened since then. I have some really sad news, some sad news and some great news... First the really sad news: my loving friend and companion of almost 15 years, Bo, passed away. It was a very difficult and sad period but also one of joy. I had adopted two kittens some time before to keep him company after his friend, Rex, passed away a year earlier. Now for the sa... My name is Amy, and I love kitties, I have two black cats named Phoebe and Binks, I just posted their photos in the picture section. I look forward to talking to and meeting other cat lovers as well. 213 Wed, 3 Oct 2012 15:12:37 EST Big time cat lover! http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x1216x50159721 Hi - I just found this group and I'm really glad. We had 7 cats for years and years. Five of them were feral and the other two were also rescues. After the last one died at 21, we waited for over two years before finally taking in an adult female part Abbysinian. She was brought to us by a friend who wanted to do right by a dead friend's animals.

We named her Zuzu and we've had a long adjustment period. We are crazy about Zuzu and she loves to tell us what to do.
<BR... Last Saturday I was at a PetSmart which only hosts shelter animals. I started bawling, I could not help it, I miss my Hercules so badly. I am finally ready to have a cat of my own again. I even got to pet the kitties they had. I wanted a cat, not a kitten. But, you know how cats are, they pick y... Thu, 20 Sep 2012 16:23:24 EST Hi I'm New http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x1216x50004550 Sure wish I'd found this team before. My 17 year old boy cat died suddenly and it was the saddest thing ever. My 17 year old girl cat now has cancer and we don't really want to get surgery. Ugh. Didn't know cats could get breast cancer, but that's basically what she has. We also have a fairly new cat that lives outside (although I don't like to have a cat outside, because I worry). He is young and spry and it helps me see how slow the older ones are. Great to find this group. I got bit two weeks ago on my wrist, and by the next morning the swelling and redness was from the bottom of my wrist half way up my forearm. I went to the doctor, got some antibiotics, and within 24 hours of taking them it was much better. It still took about three days for it to completely go down and to where I had full mobility of my wrist.

It was the neigh... I am brand new to SparkPeople and pretty new to being a kitty mama. I adopted my sweet kitty this summer from a shelter. I had a cat that was "mine" for 18 years, but she was a family cat. Anastasia is my first pet to raise by myself, and I am absolutely loving it! She is so adorable and full of life (albeit a little codependent on me). I would love to meet some fellow feline fanatics who are looking to get their fitness in line!

Anya pictures on my page. Have to share, such ...
