Sun, 20 May 2012 10:49:05 EST More motivated than ever before! I'm doing this for my health first, and appearance second. I'm lucky enough to have an amazing man who I've been married to since Halloween 2011, who tells me all the time I'm perfect and beautiful no matter what, but that he understands I'm wanting to be healthy. I'm doing this for me! So that I can live a long and happy life with my loved ones. A year ago this month I lost 25 lbs in 2 months, but lost sight of my goals when I started wedding planning. Now, I've started again, only this time... Wed, 28 Mar 2012 14:17:30 EST New and in need of support! Hey guys! So I decided to join sparkpeople because I am I need of major support. Hey everyone!

I just joined the team and hoping for some support. I've always been overweight. As a child, I remember going to the doctors and having him tell me that I needed to lose weight. I feel like I've been on a perpetual roller coaster in trying to lose weight and it never works. I'm either on a diet or I'm straying from it.

I recently realized that half of my weight loss issues deal with my perfectionism. I thought because I was fat and not losing weight that... Mon, 13 Jun 2011 12:33:47 EST new but not entirely motivated Hello All,

I am back from joining SP about 4 years ago. I did not have success and fell back to usual habits. I had lost 80 pounds, but I've put about 40 or so back on :( But I'm here, and have complete confidence that I will be back on track, and within several months, I'll be back to where I was and ready to lose even more. Best of luck to you all :) Mon, 23 May 2011 08:37:06 EST Did it once, I NEED to do it again! Hi everyone :)

In a nutshell, I lost 99+ lbs between March 07- June 08. I had my 3rd child and ballooned almost back to my starting point! I am feeling my weight take its toll on me with how difficult it is to breathe for simple things and how overheated I feel after going up steps :( I was heavy all my life so to me, all of that was NORMAL until I lost the weight and suddenly didn't feel any of that. I was HEALTHY.

Why did I wait so long to join back in on the bandwago... Mon, 16 May 2011 11:12:50 EST New here, looking for buddies! Hey all!
My name is Brandi, I'm 26 and a mommy to three beautiful little girls. I started SP last year and lost 25 pounds pretty quickly. Sorry to unload but this really is my last chance! Wed, 10 Feb 2010 00:39:27 EST Just curious Hi! I was just curious how everyone was doing? I feel like my own eating habits are much improved, with falls here and there. I hope everyone is doing well and just wanted to wish everyone luck! Fri, 5 Feb 2010 23:21:33 EST Is anyone else tired? I am tired when I exercise, and I thought exercise is supposed to make you energized. Maybe my body is adjusting to less calories and carbohydrates, I am a diabetic and I do have to be careful, but I am trying to get more energy, I bought some B-12 vitamins from Wal-Mart I am thinking it is too soon to see the effects yet, and I am taking a womens multi-vitamin as well from GNC. Will my body ever adjust? I have lost 7lbs. and I just started last week. Sat, 23 Jan 2010 10:30:18 EST Can Birth control inhibit weightloss? I started a biggest loser thing at my gym last week and was trying to follow the plan they gave me for food, so I was doing that plus adding sp in there as well. Well I lost a big fat nothing all week. I have a mirena and my dr recently told me it can cause weight gain, so I was wondering if it can make weightloss harder? So I am trying to not eat after 8pm, however, I work till 10 at night and when I get home and by the time I go to bed, my stomach is growling horribly. I'm eating my 3 main meals a day plus a snack but I'm still under on calories (according to my nutrition tracker). I'm afraid if I eat more that I will just keep going but I know by not eating enough calories in a day my body can go into starvation mode and keep a hold on all my fat. Sat, 8 Aug 2009 00:24:47 EST Hi everyone! Hello, I am new to this team and pretty new to Spark. I have about 110 pounds that I would like to lose. I lost most of it about 2 years ago and due to the loss of my factory job and meeting the man of my dreams have managed to disappoint myself and put it right back on. I am finding this site and these teams to be great help. Good luck to all of you on all of your goals! Thu, 6 Aug 2009 11:25:55 EST Newbie checking in Hey guys.

Though I actually joined Spark a little over a month ago, I've not yet made any posts in any teams, so I've chosen this one for my first :)

I'm 26, and started my membership somewhere around 146kgs. A week or so after I joined, I coincidentally had a doctors appointment, with a new doctor, who suggested, and prescribed me Xenical after a discussion. Had a weigh in last week (the 3 week mark) and I was down to 142kgs, the kind of progress I've not seen in a lo... Thu, 6 Aug 2009 06:23:09 EST Anyone else get headaches? Hi. This is still my first week and I have had a headache all day. I thought maybe it was a hunger headache but it didn't go away after I ate. I then took a nap and I woke up and I was fine. But it seems to be coming back again. My friend told me it could be from the weight lose. Did anyone else go through this too? If so how long does it last for usually? I didn't do any work out today because I am thinking maybe my body just needs today to rest. Any suggestions? Thu, 30 Jul 2009 19:23:17 EST New member Hi everyone, my name is Liz. I've actually been using this website for a while now, but within the last few weeks I've really decided to buckle down.

Actually, this is kind of an understatement. My real start point was actually in February. Like most people around here, I have some weight I need to lose. I've been overweight most my life, and nothing has really worked. I joined myfitnesspal in February hoping to get some results, but have been a bit dissapointed. Since February I'... Thu, 30 Jul 2009 01:45:59 EST Back again Hello everyone. My name is Andrea and I'm 20. I started sparkpeople a few years ago and went from 308lbs down to 240ish and then just....stopped. I stopped going into sparkpeople and I stopped exersicing and dieting. I'm surprised that I haven't gained back. However, I'm going back to college in a month and I'm moving into my own apartment and I want to start over. I want to be who I know I can be. I only have one life and I've wasted it thus far because I've been too unhealthy to do t... I am 26, have been married for 5 years, and have two great kiddos (whom I get to stay at home! Thanks babe!)
I have always struggled with my weight but I had been able to maintain it for a while. After I got married I began to gain weight, but it was until after I had my second baby that the downward spiral really started. I fell into a severe depression and between the emotional eating and the constant changing of me... Mon, 27 Jul 2009 15:23:52 EST Greetings! I am new - again - to weight loss, and that should tell you everything. Last year I put on a lot of weight (break-up, sadness, generally stopping all the healthy things), so I'm hoping that the lbs (JEEEEZ that's a lot of weight I put on there) will come off pretty quickly. But after that, well, my 'average' size has been a little too above average since I stopped playing competitive sports.

I would like to use this group for support and also as people to be respo... Previously I have tried Weightwatchers, Scottish Slimmers and have never been able to stick to them so now I am doing it my way and fingers crossed it works! I am hoping filling in the food journal and the community helps as I lose motivation after a while. My bf has a motorbike which we go away with his pals on but they all have slim girlfriends and then there is me so hopefully this will keep me going! Any tips or advice you can giv... Sun, 19 Jul 2009 14:10:40 EST New to the group Hello!
My name is Camille. I started my weight loss journey on 6/15/09. My starting weight was 455 lbs (oh my gosh did I just type that out loud!). Fri, 17 Jul 2009 21:58:30 EST Looking for an online buddy! Hello all,

I'm looking for a buddy to share "the weight-loss journey (TM)" with and to share my food journal with (hopefully the threat of shame would be enough to keep me from excess...) And hopefully we'll become friends with as well. :)

I'm easygoing but tend to lose motivation about my dieting fairly quickly. I'm only online for a short time (dialup, it ties up the phone line) but I could promise once a day communication.

If it sound's what you're looki... Fri, 17 Jul 2009 01:33:14 EST Hi!! Hi guys! I am back on Sparkpeople after about a year and a half of trying different things, or just giving up entirely. I've gotten to a point where I don't feel good, physically or mentally, so I'm ready to start changing my habits! I have a lot of weight to lose, but I'm concentrating on the fact that every pound is a step in the right direction, instead of focusing on a specific final goal at this point. I'd really like to talk to people so feel free to read my blog, message me, etc. Good... I started my diet back on 2/17/09 and started at 343lbs. Today I finally hit the 70lb mark and I feel awesome. I know I have a long way to go, but I really feel like hitting the 70lb marker was a booster. Sun, 12 Jul 2009 11:17:22 EST How long? How long should it take to lose 100lbs? I have a year from today. I will be working out 4 times a week. Is that too ambitious? Fri, 10 Jul 2009 15:20:25 EST hello Hello, everyone. I am new to all of this - I've tried other things before, but nothing worked. I've been exercising on and off for a while now, but I've got to get my diet under control too. I want to lose 180 pounds total. I'm looking forward to the support I think this site will provide. Wed, 8 Jul 2009 21:34:39 EST Anyone know where to get the pictures? I want to know where you can get the pictures that people have on their pages that say "I lost X lbs with SparkPeople." The one I have, I just copied from someone else, but I want to know where to find them, so I don't have to browse other pages to find one. Thanks! Thu, 2 Jul 2009 05:49:25 EST Hey Everyone! Hi I'm 28 and I have well over 100 pounds to lose. I have lost 48 already! I struggle from time to time but with making better food choices and exercise i have lost the 48 pounds in the last 3 months. Spark People has been a great place for support! Wed, 1 Jul 2009 23:08:04 EST Candy! Candy! Candy! So I feel kind of bad, and ashamed of myself. I am surrounded by candy all day long at work. So far this week i've had too much candy. Today alone i've had a cookies in cream bar, some hot tamales and some Junior Caramels. I haven't ate the whole box in one sitting, but still. I don't know why i do this to myself. Fruit doesn't help me in the sweet factor. I need sweeet candy. Obviously i think i'm totally addicted, I just don't know what to do to stop this binge candy eating...

I ... Wed, 1 Jul 2009 01:19:41 EST WATER How does everyone get in enough water? I get to maybe... 6 cups in a day, and even then I feel like I'm sloshing around. Is there a secret??? Maybe I don't need as much as 8 cups because I'm only 5'2... Any guidance? Mon, 29 Jun 2009 20:43:34 EST Hey everyone!! I'm Angela, i'm 26, I have 160ish pounds to lose.

110lbs of this weight was gained in the last 4 years (upon the onset of my boyfriend who I live with today).

Poor choices, too much fast food and zero exercise led to this. I have a couple buddies on here who are in their late 30s and have much less to lose than I, but I need some people who I can fully relate to. Glad to be a part of this team! Mon, 29 Jun 2009 11:56:22 EST New to SparkPeople Hi everyone! My name is Angela and I'm new to sparkpeople. I'm 250lbs, and I'm 20 years old. I've always had an issue with my weight, and I really want to get it under control, because it will help with a lot of issues that I have with my health. Right now, I'm committed to eating 1000-1500 calories a day, and exercising when I can. I have three dogs that need to be walked! I am going to walk at least one a day around the neighborhood, which is about 3 miles.

Does anyone have any ... Mon, 29 Jun 2009 05:19:38 EST Hi! Yeah, I know my weight ticker is deceiving, but 60 pounds is easier to handle at one time than twice that. I'll reassess once I get to where I need to be. You know... trying to mentally trick myself into believing I don't have to go as far as I really do... does that work?

ANYWAY! My main reason to try to lose weight is because I want to be like my mom! She used to be heavy, and she's taken the past fifteen years and transformed herself from a dumpy mommy to a triathlon-trainin... Thu, 25 Jun 2009 17:24:32 EST Quick Question So I've been seeing all over people's Spark Pages these picutres of their "virtual self" and current weight and maybe their goal weight, and I REALLY want to make one of myself, but for the life of me, I CANNOT find where to do it at.

Help? haha :) Thank you!

Mon, 22 Jun 2009 18:17:44 EST I need to get going Hello all! I am a 25 year old teacher living in Campbellsport, WI. I have always been overweight, but I really need to get off my butt and do something about it. I definitely do better with a partner in crime, but I don't have any really close by. I don't mind working out at all, but I need motivation all the time. Any suggestions or anyone live in campbellsport area? Sun, 21 Jun 2009 00:35:47 EST Weekly Weigh Ins? This team is not very active, I was wondering if everyone wanted to start doing weekly weigh ins together?

I alternate my weigh in day every month. This month it is on Sunday.

Anyone interested? Sat, 20 Jun 2009 07:51:38 EST Ready for a Change Hi everyone, my names Casey, I'm 21 years old, and I have about 130 pounds I'd like to loose. I've pretty much been overweight since elementary school and I'm OVER it. I've almost been married for 3 years now, and everything in my life is perfect..except for my weight. For my whole life, my weight has held me back. Since I've been overweight most of my life, I feel like I don't really know who I am, because of my weight. My goal is to be 150 (or less). I've done countless "diets", more than o... Fri, 19 Jun 2009 22:54:03 EST Noob Here! Hey everyone my name is Linsey im 23 and im a fat ass lol, Ive been trying desperately to lose weight for over a year but could never stick to anything plus my friends are all thin so i never really had any support. Like this forum states I have over 100 lbs to lose to reach my goal. I used to be thin in high school and I surely do miss those days. I have 3 important reasons for losing weight, 1: Health, my mom had breast cancer and my dad has to take medication every day for cholesterol, and... Wed, 17 Jun 2009 11:56:34 EST Help my sister is making me crazy! Hi everyone. Ok so the good news is that I finally convinced my sister, who is 20, to join up to get healthy. My whole family has been worried about her health for a long time now. She's been doing it for a week now, and it's working really well for her. My problem is she's uber competitve! If she loses a pound, she wants to know what I lost so on and so forth. I make a point to only weigh in on Fridays, this way I'm not driving myself nuts with the ups and downs of everyday weigh ins. ... Tue, 16 Jun 2009 17:26:11 EST Motivation As I read through the postings I see the lost pounds and am excited. I'm just wondering how long does it take to loose 20 pounds. I have never been on a diet or tried to loose weight and I don't want to set myself up for disappointment. I am currently 310 and have a long way to go. I don't even know what my ideal weight would be. I just know I don't eat healthy and never have. I want to change so I can teach my children a better way to live. Tue, 16 Jun 2009 14:20:32 EST What's up??? Hello, my name is Suzanne and I am 25 and at my heaviest weight ever... I got on the scale this morning and nearly cried (but I was running late for work so I really didn't have time). I'm looking for someone or a few someones to share my struggle with... having support and good people root you on is one of the few things needed for success... Even though I know this is a supportive network I still have issues with saying how much I weigh... Weird huh?
Anyway, I am a funny outgoing pers... Thu, 11 Jun 2009 14:37:38 EST New to the team Hi all! I've been using sparkpeople since January, well SERIOUSLY using it since last month. I just joined this team because all of my weightloss buddies in "real life" have so much less to lose then me, it can sometimes get discouraging to see them lose so much faster when they have so much less to lose to begin with. I'm hoping to find buddies who can sympathize! Mon, 8 Jun 2009 13:18:07 EST How do I get off a plateau???? HELP!!!!! Okay. I started a 1200 calorie diet January 1st of 09. In the time since then, I have lost 70 lbs. But as of the last few weeks...... HELP!!!!! How or WHY is it possible that I have stopped losing... and actually GAINED 2 pounds? I am still eating 1200 calories a day, and I work on my feet. Any type of ideas for me? Words of wisdom? I'm getting very aggravated..........Thanks!
Rie Sun, 7 Jun 2009 12:12:30 EST Awesome Website! I found a really great website for recipes. (not that the one here on sparks isnt amazing as well)

What I like about this site is that she takes every-day foods and she converts them into diet-friendly recipes. I just tried her Shrimp Eggrolls (although I used mushrooms in mine instead of shrimp) they were SO easy to make and 2 egg rolls was less than 200 calories. Pair that with a salad and I was one happy camper.

Check it out: Thu, 4 Jun 2009 16:31:48 EST Should I feel Ashamed? So far I have been a member of SP for just shy of three weeks. At night I have a sugar free jello cup, and on mondays I have a cookie with my lunch. Other than that I have zero sweets in my diet. Just enough to keep me from feeling like I am in diet prison. I am a large girl (I weigh 275) so I have no qualms about talking about that. When I started my diet I was at 283 so although not a hugh weight loss I am satisfied with the way things are going.

Today my boss walks into my offi... Mon, 1 Jun 2009 16:10:24 EST What did you do when you first started? Hello, I am recommitting myself to becoming a healthier person. I am trying to find out what did everyone do exercise wise to get started with exercising regularly? I am thinking of just telling myself that I must do 1.5 miles on the treadmill a day. I figure that is a pretty good start and work my way from there. But I would like to hear how everyone else started. Sun, 31 May 2009 15:50:36 EST Determined to get back on track! Hi all. I switched jobs this year (I worked at a elementary school and switched over to high school) lots of stress and weird hours for school events led me back to my start weight. So hopefully I can take the time this summer to get back on track. I just got the new cookbook and school's out on Tuesday. Sat, 30 May 2009 12:21:33 EST New here My name is Amanda. I am about 2 and a Half weeks into SP and so far I am really loving it. The support is amazing and I'm learning a lot about myself. For me motivation is key for weight loss so if I ever come across as a bit of a cheerleader that's probably why ;)

I am 23 years old. Married to an absolutely amazing man and I have a 14 month old little girl named Aubrey. Shes my daily inspiration for all of this getting healthy for her (and of course me) is a big deal for me. Thu, 28 May 2009 21:41:18 EST How do you get going again after a bad choice? I just started Sparkpeople last week and I've been doing alright at it so far. I'm eating better overall, tracking my food, and have even done a little bit of exercise. But today, for whatever reason (I'm not even really sure why) I made a batch of cookies and ate 8 (yep that's eight) of them. Now I'm so mad at myself. I'll never be able to lose weight if I don't quit doing this to myself. So my question is this, How do I keep going from here? I feel like such a failure.

~Ni... Wed, 27 May 2009 11:56:13 EST Hey! Hi! I'm new to the team, but I've been on the Spark People site for a while. I'm 24 and the heaviest I've ever been. I have a LOT of work to do. I'm having trouble staying motivated so I thought I'd do this a little differently.

I know this is a community site, but I was just using it for the tools. I've failed kinda miserably. I was thinking about it and since this is a community and I obviously can't do this on my own, so I'm trying to be more involved.

I guess that'... Sun, 24 May 2009 16:30:07 EST Workout Tunes Haven't checked in here for a while - oops!! :) How's everyone doing?

I just realized recently that it's a big motivator for me to add some new music every week or two to listen to while I work out - makes it less repetitive and whatnot.

So, I thought it'd be fun to have thread with everyone's gym mixes they listen to on it - for ideas on good music (sometimes I have these "oh, I never thought to work out to that song" moments :)). I am amazed at this, I'm noticing that I'm not craving greasy food like I once was. The water is getting SO much easier to drink. The exercise is alot easier(I can keep a faster pace without my sides hurting) I walked about 5 miles(2 of those miles where ealier in the day, 3 was with the dog) today and I actually wore out my overly energetic German shep. lol. I can even do 12 modified push-ups and I couldn't even do 2! I hope to walk 5 miles everyday. I didn't even think I could walk 5 miles! Wed, 20 May 2009 23:00:29 EST hi all hey.. name's Jessica.. Sun, 17 May 2009 00:59:34 EST Let's try this again.... Hi everyone. I'm Laci, and I'm 26 years old. I can't believe I'm already 26. I've been trying to lose weight since I can remember. I guess I can't really say I've tried very hard. I keep starting new diets....diets that require a huge change for a temporary period of time. Slimfast. Atkins. cabbage soup. the miracle cookie diet. Nothing that can be sustained over a life time. So, after the diet ends, old habits return, weight comes back. I guess I just need to learn how to eat properly, make ... My doctor told me I needed to lose at least 100lbs. I am 5'7", and I know I won't look right losing more than 100 pounds. I just want to be able to wear a size 10 and shop in Charlotte Russe. I started going to the gym a couple of weeks ago with my friend. She can bring someone with her to the gym once a week (and now another one of her coworkers is coming with us so free gym membership twice a week! hehe) but she doesn't get off work until 6pm. I find that 6-8pm is my prime snacking time so by going to the gym with her I burn calories rather than add them! ^_^ Any other snack curbing tricks? :) Tue, 14 Apr 2009 20:26:36 EST 43 pounds and counting... Hello, my name is Kim. I'm 25. I've lost 43 pounds since around June or July of 2008. I'm losing it pretty slowly, but I'd rather do that than watch the pounds fly off, just to watch them fly back on! I thought that now might be a good time to try to make new friends and build a support system in hopes that the pounds don't come back on, and also to help get this done! I hope we can all do well with our weight loss, and if anyone needs a friend to talk to, feel free to send a message! Fri, 6 Mar 2009 20:28:19 EST Does anyone else deal with "Closet Eating?" It's really hard for me to reach out to people about this subject. It's embarrassing...But I am a closet eater. I tend to eat when there is no one around. It's a daily challenge for me to not drive thru somewhere on my way to work or on my way home. No matter if I'm full or hungry. I also eat late at night when everyone is asleep, or I eat while I'm cooking too. I know I do use food to deal with my stress and emotions, which have been bad lately because I honestly do believe I have postpartum...
