I'm a returning sparker with a need to not simply loose weight to like how I look (although that's definitely a factor!), I need to loose weight and get healthy to hopefully slow down the progression of my Multiple Sclerosis. I was diagnosed 4 years ago this summer and thankfully I have not had many issues thus far. After going through a relapse over the past month which involved some mobility issues in my right leg I reached the point where I said "Enough is enough." I kno... With a nutribullet Rx I am finding it easy to get my veggies in. I've been an exercise girl and am taking a food bAsed, stress reduction approach in 2017. This means decreasing my exercise, more emphasis on meditation, yoga, and really focusing on food. Whole foods.

I'm stunned by the info I've read on adrenal fatigue and even more so by the info found in the book nutrition tests for better health by Dr. Cass Ingram. Sugar, white flour really put us at risk. Even if we have i... I gained the 20 pounds I lost and couldn't pull myself out of my downward spiral. Part of it was medical (serious hormonal challenges) and part of it was grief (my family experienced an unexpected passing of 2 family members). I literally gave up trying but still remained connected to SP and glad I did!
No more excuses - just action! Ready to start the New Year right! Boy was I wrong. I have to teach myself that it is not the food that is bad, it is how I control how much and how often I enjoy those foods. This past 6 months it's gone from 6.5 which is the norm I've maintained all this time to 6.8 to 7 and now to 7.5. I will admit that I didn't count every calorie, every carb, or even paid much attention to what I was eating most of the time. Today I was raking mulch out of a huge pile rather than dancing but I hope to still get the dancing in later today when I have my breath back. I read in the challenge articles that it is best that I have strength training too. I'm not sure where I will fit that in. I gave up processed sugar. It was like I had been challenged. One of my clients who is a meth addict told me that I did not understand addiction. I thought how wrong he was as I have struggled with food addictions for most of my life. I used food to feel better, to get high, to calm and comfort myself. I would sneek food, hide with food, hide evidence of food I had eaten. I had an addiction and I knew it but was like everyone of many ... With the last two weeks I've been walking on my treadmill. I start off at 3.8 and build up to 4.5 which is a very fast walk for me. I have been told that it is not enough. I feel like crying
I can only manage to do 2 miles in 48 minutes Sun, 8 May 2016 07:01:36 EST Disabled, Diabetic, & Determined http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x11533x64291872 I let the disability win and went from 164 lbs and active to 239 lbs and sedentary. Needless to say it has cost me. Now I'm ready to fight back. I'm looking for tools that I can use to do that. I've already found the dance challenge. I used to love to dance and it sounds like a good way to move about. I don't know how long it will take to work up to 15 minutes but anything is better than nothing. I need to track my food and get this weight off. I have been on a zillion diets but hoping just by eating less and moving more I can shed this weight.
Sun, 6 Mar 2016 15:44:22 EST $1 a pound to the charity of your choice http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=6970x11533x63833185 Since I find the spark community supportive and the food tracker easy to use, I have decided not to return to the weekly meetings of another weight reduction group. These meeting had a weekly fee (which were a bit rich for my blood) That said, I have decided to donate a $1 to a charity of my choice for every pound I loose. It does not sound like much, but like my weight loss slow and sure wins the race. Thanks to a 3 lbs loss, I just made my first donation. Here is to success and helping ... My dietician turned me on to this site, so I'm hoping it will help me to meet my health goals.

A little about me: I've been overweight my entire life. I've tried diet after diet with little success. Over the past decade or so, I've been content with being who I am. However, I've recently gotten some bad results from a blood test, so I'm needing to make some changes in my life.... I've just started at this site and I really like it. So much easier to use than My Fitness Pal. Plus, I really like that we can create our own recipes and find out the nutritional values for them. This site's got it together! I'm 29 pounds down in a 100 pound goal so far and I'm loving it even if it's really challenging at times. Can't really believe I've changed the way and what I eat. I did lose about 40 lbs by eating healthy, working out regularly and feeling really good and on the right path. However in the last few years, I was a PhD student writing a dissertation which I had pressure to finish (and I did finish - yay) and then having to work - because much of my work has me sitting behind a computer, I have gained the 40 lbs plus back. My goal to lose weight is to be healthier and of course have more energy to enjoy things in my life. I was able muster up the motivation and resolve to go on the DR OZ Total10 diet plan and stayed on it for the 10 days. I lost weight, looked great and had more energy but alas the lemon water in the morning wrecked my stomach so excuses, excuses have not gone back.I picked this plan because the food was healthy and I believe in eating or...
