During the summer I had PB&J and fiber one bars or Bel Vita. That also put me high on the carbs. I am out of the house by 4AM so I grab some fruit for breakfast, high carbs but good carbs You would think it is a lot of exercise, but you are really standing still or sitting. I am a 58 year old grandmother who has been 30 pounds overweight for most of my life. Then, a few years back, I gained thirty more within a few months. After many tests, I was told that it was most likely stress-related (there was a lot going on). Well, I workout at least 4 times per week and I eat ... Sat, 1 Nov 2014 11:48:48 EST Hi! Hello,

I joined Spark People several years ago and was in the Fit by 50 Spark Team. For some reason, I got off track and forgot how much I liked Spark People. Finishing my Ph.D. in math by 50 may have had something to do with it, along with working multiple jobs as an adjunct, job hunting, and then moving to New Mexico. In the process, instead of getting fit, I gained more and began having a great deal of trouble walking even short distances. When I started my job in New Mexico... Sat, 1 Nov 2014 00:45:00 EST I'm new again... Hi, my name is Sandy. I have been a member of sparkpeople for about 6 years. I was even a member of this team before. I am back and more determined than ever. I am looking forward to getting to know you all and getting reacquainted with some of you. I have about 80 pounds to less, so I will be here for a while.
252 Thu, 30 Oct 2014 20:22:48 EST Rejoined SP a week ago I have used SP before with some success, but found the program too cumbersome. This time, I am being careful not to join too many challenges or teams, not to take on too many goals. There is simply no reasonable way to live up to too many ideals at one time. This time, I am using the facets of SP that I need and ignoring all the rest of the hype.

I am on the east coast of Florida, a 370 pound author/poet/playwright. I had great success with Sparkpeople in 2009 and lost close to 50 lbs. I left the program for a few years. I am now back realizing that my extra weight is challenging me from doing many of the physical activities I enjoy. Last week I was hiking and I hurt my legs in the process. I hobbled around for days struggling to walk and go up and down steps. I am fairly active so I attribute these challenges to the extra weight and now I want to take it ... Hi,
My name is Regina and am a new one to this group.
I decided about a month ago that since I will be turning 60 next year I want to give myself a special gift. Sun, 15 Jun 2014 18:57:48 EST Thanking God I am new to this site and am so thankful to God because I know I am not alone in my journey with weight loss and becoming healthy. I have been fighting the battle with weight for as long as I can remember. I lose some and then life happens and I gain it right back. I hope this is my answer to prayer. Sat, 14 Jun 2014 22:31:04 EST started Fri 13 with a full moon Hope this doesn't mean bad luck for me, but I won't forget my start date. I hate to diet and I'm not good at doing things I hate. So I'm starting slow. Just trying to drink 8 glasses of water a day and enter what I eat. Not trying to change what I eat yet. I all ready exercise a lot, I like that. I'm going to record my exercise to be sure I'm doing well. I joined the group challenges for drinking water and posting daily so I will try that too. I hope to meet my goals this time round. Fri, 13 Jun 2014 11:51:54 EST what a wake up call I guess I have been living in a make believe world. A world where I have been telling myself fibs. I have been telling myself that I l look petty good.....maybe a pound or two to live, but nothing urgent and certainly nothing anyone would notice. well hubby was taking pictures today and took a few of me. Wow. Who is that woman?! She is old and fat and stooped over. I need to fix this. I now have my motivation. I am also horrified and ashamed. Thu, 12 Jun 2014 20:13:43 EST Facing up to fear of losing I'd like some input on self sabotage and fear of losing. I've been on diets since I was 9 years old (not my choice). I got down to "normal" twice but each time put it all back on because I was young and it was a "diet" not a lifestyle.

In later years, I've noticed a pattern. I might do ok until I lose about 20 lbs, but then it is almost like an anxiety attack--I get lazy and start "winging it" and boom, it's all back again.

This last time I actually got over the 20 ... Tue, 10 Jun 2014 11:40:45 EST Joining today, Hi, joining today to get some support on this weight loss journey. I have focused on walking/jogging since May 15, of at least 5 miles per day for 4 days a week. I have actually gained weight instead of losing, very depressing. I am decreasing sugar in my diet to low amounts 5 tsp or less to make my walking work for me. Tue, 10 Jun 2014 10:24:00 EST And so the journey begins... Today I signed up for the coaching program. Anybody else doing the coaching program? I have been floundering the last 2 years...I need to lose 60 pounds. I plan to do this by tracking my food intake, lifting weights and walking 10,000 steps or more/day. I am really in need of I am for the first time letting it all out there. I wish everyone continued success in their journey. 41 Tue, 10 Jun 2014 10:02:38 EST 25th Anniversary I decided that today would be a good day to get serious about losing, since I have gained over 30 pounds in the 25 years I have been married. I NEED SUPPORT!!! I have NO ONE with whom to share this journey. My husband is diabetic and in denial. My best friend moved a couple thousand miles away a few years ago. I am relying on the kindness of strangers to help me stop killing myself with not only excess weight, but negative thoughts brought on by same. Thanks in advance. Mon, 9 Jun 2014 12:26:39 EST Dylan Well after a long hiatus and a few cheeseburgers in between. I "manned up" for my first day back in the gym. I said I was going to take it easy, but I just kept going oddly enough after loathing the thought for several weeks. I was afraid that I am facing the miserable fact of my real condition.
