I can be a chatty girl.

One big reason that I’ve gained so much weight is that I don’t move. For 5.5 years I was a work-at-home employee and the weight slowly increased. I was a great employee since I didn’t take many breaks and was a hard worker. One problem is that my job/employer was very stressful and I left that job after being there almost 20 years and began working with a new employer. I went from working at home 5 days a week to driving ... Sat, 3 Oct 2015 09:16:03 EST Starting over Hello, my name is Karen. I took 4 months off from my weight loss journey and gained 25 pounds. I rejoined SP yesterday because I need to feel excited about eating healthy and I need lots of motivation. I need to stop trying to talk myself out of this. I'm new to SP, joining a few days ago. I'm very excited to start this journey and am hoping that it works. I've tried dieting by myself and with my husband, but the scale didn't move. I need to incorporate exercise back into my life as well. My work days are long and I'm tired by the time the weekend is here. I'm sure much of that has to do with my weight and inactivity. I'm a late bloomer, having children ages 14 and 9. I want to be healthy for them and for me. Wed, 30 Sep 2015 04:33:06 EST One month in, but I haven't introduced myself Hi! My name is Denise, and I stumbled onto SparkPeople about a month ago. I actually have 109# to lose, but I didn't come across a team with that label, so I'll start with my interim goal of 50# by 2/21/16, and that qualifies me for this team.

I confess, I haven't completed the New Member Guide yet, but can someone save me some time and explain about the privacy setting of my page. Self-sabotage is a big one for me and I started to do it again this time. Last time I was just a short term observer, this time I want to participate even though that's always been a bit difficult for me. I have moved myself to the top... Hi all!

I've been off and on Sparkpeople for a while and am looking for a team to join that will help keep me motivated to do something about my weight. I turned 50 this year and have decided that this is as good a time as any to make some constructive changes to benefit my health and keep me enjoying life. Mon, 28 Sep 2015 08:43:53 EST Hello What a warm welcome I got! Like a group hug from the whole NFL.... I am from Washington state, so I am, of course, a 12 (go 'Hawks!) Retired English teacher. Act in community theater. Write blogs that probably ramble and may not be of interest to anyone, but I have fun writing them. Four grown children. Two spoiled cats. Looking forward to learning to like who I am a bit more than I do now. Onward! Mon, 28 Sep 2015 00:00:00 EST Hi, I'm new here.....again Like most of you, I have tried EVERYTHING to lose weight in the past. Several years ago. I was even on a liquid protein diet, where I had NO solid food for over 9 months. It worked. I kept it off for several years, in fact. Then life happened...marriage, children, etc. I got too comfortable. Now, as I'm getting older, I need to try to stay around for me, my husband and our children. This is my 1st step. So looking forward to my journey. Sat, 26 Sep 2015 10:01:51 EST Where Oh Where Do I Go I'm a 67 year old woman with many varied interests. Recently the computer is my main interest and I need to get away from it and get up and get shaking. There are so many groups here I just don't know which one(s) to start with. I hope to be able to encourage and support you as much as I know you will me. Blessed Be Wed, 23 Sep 2015 14:16:33 EST Self-sabotage ?? Do any of you have to deal with self-sabotage? I have noticed that right now and in the past when I get to a point that others notice I am losing and start telling me then I start going off plan. Mon, 4 May 2015 00:29:46 EST Hello, from an old geezerette I have decided its time to lick this diabetes 2 once and for all with losing weight and eating better. Medications are not the only way to control this disease and I intend to win my battle with it. Weight goal is to be about 40 to 50 pounds lighter by the end of this year if possible. Counting carbs and probably calories too, plus that dreaded word exercise.

Hobbies are several craft projects, flowering and bird watching in our yard. Sun, 12 Apr 2015 08:08:34 EST scales How often do you weigh? How do you know if your scale is accurate or not? I think my scale is driving me crazy. Do any of you just weight once a month? I think because of my calorie food total now, that I should be losing 2 pounds a week. Do you think I can skip weighing? I know I am sticking to my program. I am exercising and walking and drinking water and tracking everything! It just frustrates me when there is in consistency with my scale. I bought a new one and it was worse. :( Wed, 8 Apr 2015 20:47:34 EST Food tracker I've been tracking my food for the last 5 days. I have started losing again, hopefully this time will be successful! :-) I am finally doing some things for myself and this is a start. Mon, 23 Mar 2015 15:41:20 EST Again Hi team members. I am not new to this team. I have been here off and on since 2007. However, I am back again because of the pre-diabetes which I have known about for the last 3 years. I keep coming back because I love SP and when I started I lost weight and did good. I always seem to lose interest after 2 or 3 days and go back to my old habits. So I am here again. I pray that this time around I will make myself accountable and stick with it.

Thanks for always being there... Mon, 23 Mar 2015 12:14:14 EST Thank You Thank you everyone for welcoming me to my new journey. I appreciate everyone for all the kind words. This is going to take me a little while to post messages and figure out how this works. Please be patient with me if I do not answer if you send a message.

Thanks again.
Donna Sun, 22 Mar 2015 20:42:45 EST Back again after a 4 year hiatus It's funny how one thinks they can make a go of it alone. I signed up at Sparkpeople back in early 2011 and was logging into the site for a few months. My login's were sporadic and I rarely used the trackers. I recall thinking at the time, tracking exercise and particularly nutrition was a time consuming nuisance and I could just go and do my "own thing" Eventually, I just stopped coming back here.

I embarked on a mainly vegetarian/vegan way of eating. By and large I would say 60% ... Sun, 22 Mar 2015 14:09:05 EST Negative People I have only been at this since February 14th and with today' weigh-in I have only lost 7 pounds total .. my goal is to loss a total of 94 by Feb 25th 2016 (my 60th birthday). I don't usually listen to negativity but... Sun, 22 Mar 2015 12:57:29 EST My name is Sandra I'm 60-something. I am overweight - obese actually. I don' know what else to say just yet. I decided on Feb 23 to do this for me. My first week I lost over 3 lbs. I was hoping for 5. I have gained my second and third week. This is discouraging. BUT, I have also lost over 6 inches overall! Very encouraging! I have not missed a day of fitness activity. I have tracked my nutrition and fitness everyday(almost). They tell me I need more calories. What's up? Can I have gained muscle? I feel better, strong... Sat, 14 Mar 2015 12:01:20 EST New day...Fresh start! Good morning! This is my first day and I'm looking for an accountability/motivational partner if you are interested. I have lost over 100 pounds 3 other times in my life and each time gained it all back plus more. I'm ready to lose it once and for all. About 6 or 7 years ago I lost 50 pounds and have kept it off, but have been stuck there.
