I've got about 45 pounds to lose and I look forward to interacting with the group and making some new friends. Mon, 19 May 2014 14:39:19 EST New beginning Here I am starting over yet again. So tired of being overweight with no energy. I had lost 35 pounds over a year ago and really felt great. Unfortunately, I let it creep back on - Yikes! I now find myself stressed to the max (and eating) from caring for my mother, having an adult son return back home with his problems and no time for me. I have to get some control over my weight and do something just for ME before I blow. Welcoming all the feedback from this site as I don't have outside... Tue, 6 May 2014 19:21:44 EST Trying to get back to what I know is best for me.. Though I did find this great site back in 2008...I have not been a faithful follower...a lot has changed in my life since 2008, the most life changing being that I lost an adult child in 2009, married my long time sweetheart in 2012 ( my "present" for my 60th birthday), and inherited a 14 year old grandson in Dec 2013. I am a survivor. But raising a teenager, who has now lost both parents, after the nest has been empty for at least 15 yrs, has been a bit of a shock to my system. I am so bl... Decide to change my diet as was having awful breathlessness related to reflux. Removing dairy and switching from white to wholemeal bread really helped and sparked a weight loss which motivated me to try to get down to a healthier weight. Newmeelie, a spark people member, told me about sparkpeople and the tracking is helping me to keep going. Thanks Newmeelie!
Tue, 29 Apr 2014 17:48:38 EST Linda Lou - I have a sons wedding at the end May and in my stress for preparation I have gained instead of lost weight for the event. However it's VERY tough to lose anything more since the surgery. I hope the next month I can make a dent. Tue, 29 Apr 2014 15:59:05 EST Hey everyone New to sparks. There's so much 'STUFF' and people on spark to help me be successful which is the super excited part of me.

I'm finding it easier to stick to the meal planning as it is given for each week. Otherwise it seems like it could take some time to substitute, etc. and for me personally could get confusing. I sure don't need any help in that department-hehe!... I currently do a water aerobics class 2 times a week. I love this class it's very low impact - many things I feel I could never do in regular aerobics becomes easier in the water. In 2014 it is my goal to add 2 more days of exercise. I've been thinking of looking in to doing Yoga. Are there any good sites on the web with easy beginning yoga exercises that anyone can recommend?
Thanks,
Sharon 104 Tue, 21 Jan 2014 08:56:42 EST Travel Challenges Good Morning

All! I'm so hungry today. Should a I fight it or give in? Fri, 17 Jan 2014 14:15:03 EST Ups and downs It's interesting how the body works. On day it's full of energy and another it's flat out tired. Yesterday I could only do five minutes on the elliptical. But today I breezed through twenty minutes. I breezed through my weight workout and even set a personal best record. If we don't get discouraged with the downs in our workout routines, then the ups are that much more rewarding. Everyone keep going qt no matter what level your body wants to be at for that particular day. Life-long avid exerciser, reader, writer/researcher. I work hard but I also pamper myself. Sleeping well has become a problem. Can't get to bed, can't fall asleep, can't get enough. Right now my eyes are burning with fatigue but I've got to make it through a long day of meetings and work on my computer. Poor eating schedule may be a part of it also. I need to seriously re-evaluate my sleeping arrangements and routine. Thu, 2 Jan 2014 11:57:12 EST new member Hi, I am a new member and I am looking forward to losing about 40 lbs to arthritis. Rather than blaming them for all the bad foods, I'm very happy those foods are no longer around and I can concentrate on buying and eating what I should be, rather than just taking advantage of the bountiful feast that's been around for the past few weeks. I have tried many quick loss diet remedies, with success but the weight came back on because I didn't learn how to change my lifestyle. Is it unreasonable for me to think at age 53 that I can lose 2 lbs. per week if I stick to the nutrition and fitness trackers? I am doing strength training three time per week (30 minutes) and walking briskly 4 times per week (1 to 2 miles on indoor track). I am following the nutrition tracker and drinking almost enough water per day. I haven't a lot of time to read the articles right now, so am hoping you all can share some thoughts. It took me until August to do anything about it, but in the 5 months since I started on my own, I've lost 38 lbs and have exactly 38 to go. I just thought that had a nice symmetry to it to start at this exact halfway point, and to do it before the New ... Mon, 23 Dec 2013 21:03:42 EST
