Tue, 10 May 2016 14:59:10 EST Hello Sparkpeople! I had gained over 100 lbs due to depression and agoraphobia. This is my second time joining. I had lost 60 lbs prior, but slacked off when I went back to school. I had maintained a 45 lb weight loss until last semester. I was so close to finishing my goal of becoming a lawyer until I hit a brick wall. I burned out with 22 credits left to go. Then I gained the weight I had lost back. I don't know how to feel about all of this. I am disappointed in myself, which doesn't help my self est... I am working hard to lose the weight, but one of the biggest challenges I am facing is a recurring knee injury that limits a lot of activities. I know losing weight will help my knees immensely, but I have to be able to exercise to do so! We live in a tiny town (no gym, no pool) so I am fairly limited in my choices. I would love to find a few videos that are knee friendly for cardio- I already walk/jog a few days a week, and do a fair amount of yoga. But all the cardio videos I find ... Tue, 28 Jul 2015 11:14:31 EST Hello from Chicago Hi everyone! I'm Jacque from Chicago, I'm looking to loose about 110 lbs to reach the high end of what's supposed to be healthy. I'm the mommy of 3 children, Nathan, my angel baby Angelique-Michole, and Wesley. I love to walk, run, bike ride (which is hard with kids who aren't old enough to ride) and belly dance!
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all! Mon, 27 Jul 2015 21:59:55 EST Hello Hi! I'm not new to SP, but I have been active for far too long. I'm excited to finally get back on track. Sat, 25 Jul 2015 15:44:05 EST Hi from Alaska Hello :)

I've been trying to find a hiking buddy locally for years. I live in a town of 8,000 on a remote island with so many gorgeous hiking trails... so I thought it would be easy to find a hiking buddy. Unfortunately people here seem to fall into two categories - ultra marathoner trail runners who run over mountain ranges like they are speed bumps, or people who flat refuse to go outside until the next tsunami evacuation forces them to.

So I'm hoping I can make some f... Thu, 23 Jul 2015 21:03:26 EST Hey from NC Hello there! I've done this before...joined SP. And WW. Sigh...I just keep growing bored and any weight I lose I end up gaining back. But I'm sick of the way I look...I look in the mirror and am disgusted. So, here I am again. Wed, 22 Jul 2015 13:31:11 EST Sick & tired of No Change Hiya, I'm new here although I have been on SparkPeople probably about 6 or 7 years ago. Kinda sad that here I am still unchanged. But I have a goal of losing 185 lbs over the next few years. I'd like to do that by the time I hit age 35.... 3.5 years. Totally possibly, right? Well I've really failed over the last several years and today I feel like saying screw trying to start on a Monday or the 1st of the month or "start over" becuase I fell into a ravenous black hole of stuffing food down my... Tue, 21 Jul 2015 13:55:48 EST Getting started with low carb Hello,

I'm looking to lose a total of 135 pounds ultimately, but would like to knock 15% off my body weight before my next dr. visit in 3 months (or come close to it). I'm doing low carb, but no specific diet. I am starting consistent exercise with walking 30 minutes a day. Look forward to learning from and with you. 524 Sat, 18 Jul 2015 18:25:03 EST Good morning, I guess Hello everyone;

I have been a member of SP off and on for well over 10 years. I always start off with a great attitude and determination, and that only lasts for a couple of months before old habits start creeping back in.

A couple of winters ago, my mother and I did Dr. Fuhrman's Eat-To-Live program. We both lost weight, but didn't realize what it was doing to our metabolism. It was slowed way down.. so of course when we did eat more later on, it all stuck.

... Thu, 16 Jul 2015 09:49:09 EST Hello! Feeling discouraged. I used to be on spark people YEARS ago. Its strange navigating the new message boards and everything. Anyhow...I am currently somewhere around 275 lbs, which has been the highest I have ever been. I suffer from PCOS and depression which just makes losing weight so hard (like it isn't already). I lost about 50 pounds in 2010 doing South Beach, since my body honestly hates carbs or sugars. If I eat any of those weight loss is just not going to happen. But my biggest set back right now is exerci... Tue, 14 Jul 2015 22:38:37 EST does anyone else have insulin resistance? my doc says i have insulin resistance. He recommended a low glycemic diet. Sat, 11 Jul 2015 18:15:29 EST Interesting Diet Beverage Article So I saw this article on my homepage today and wanted to share. I've lost and gained weight back after multiple injuries. I need to lose more than 100 pounds just to feel normal again. I travel quite a bit and my breaking point was on one particular airplane I almost had to ask for a seatbelt extension and my butt was just over the edge of my seat, creeping on the other person. UGH so frustrating. I beat myself up over it for weeks (which also resulted in a 10 pound weight gain) Losing weight, feeling healthy... Tue, 9 Jun 2015 13:42:13 EST Greetings one and all I'm a 30 year old graduate student trying to lose weight, get in shape, and finish my master's degree. The combination of stress eating, not sleeping, stressing out, not exercising, stressing out some more, and subsisting primarily on diet coke really took a toll on me. My long-term goal is to lose 100 lbs. (I'm at 2... Tue, 26 May 2015 13:48:15 EST Hello Hi. Found this site. Looks awesome. Looking forward to losing weight, getting in shape and hopefully making some friends. I have well over 100 pounds to lose. Joined a couple of the challenges on here. They seem like a lot of fun. Also found the trackers which are great. What other tools/features of this site are people using a lot? Tue, 26 May 2015 13:02:45 EST Accuracy of Nike fitness? Anyone know how accurate the Nike fitness app is? I have it on my iPod and it tells me my distance and average speed. I was sure that today I pushed harder on my sprints and had a better overall jogging pace but was disappointed to see that I had not beat my previous distance. I'm just wondering how accurate it really is and whether I should be using it as a barometer of my progress..... Sat, 23 May 2015 01:56:22 EST City Girl to Country Squirrel GOOD day to your eyes. Thu, 21 May 2015 00:16:06 EST Skin Elasticity - Weight Loss I've always been afraid to lose weight because of potentially losing skin elasticity. I'm a 5'8 male, dropping from 281 to around 175. I've lost my first 20. After 10 more I'm going to stop losing and focus on strength training for about 4 weeks. Planning on doing this with every 30 pounds lost so I do not lose too quickly and give time for my skin to readjust. Plus bulk up a bit. I'm also eating super nutritious foods and hydrating my skin.

If you have advice or experience you'd l... Tue, 19 May 2015 11:30:34 EST Teeheehoo! I am so excited to be here! I'm a librarian and I run a small rural library. I have been overweight since I was a child, and have been on medicine for high blood pressure for a few years now. I have tried to lose weight so many times, and would do well for a while before I let something get in the way and derail me. I went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago and the number on the scale shocked me. I am at the highest weight I've ever been. I have problems with my k... Sat, 16 May 2015 13:45:47 EST Tracking fitness minutes... So, I have a couple of questions for you guys. Do any of you use the Walk Away the Pounds videos for your fitness? If so, how do you track your fitness minutes? For example, today, I did the 2 mile walk segment, twice. The whole thing runs approximately 33 minutes but I only recorded it as 20 minutes of low impact aerobics, because there is a warm up and cool down period incorporated into that 33 minutes. Do you think that that was accurate, or should I have recorded it as a full 30 minutes? Fri, 15 May 2015 20:12:28 EST Returning Hi,

I'm Michelle. I've been on SP since 2010 and been in this group the whole time. I have use SP off and on throughout the years. As summer approaches it's about time for the kitchen of my house to become a sauna! Now I love to cook healthy casseroles and yummy things with the oven. The problem is in the summer, it just makes the upper part of the house unlivable. Do any of y'all have a tasty summer recipe that involves less then 45 minutes in the oven? I don't have a grill I can use so I'm stuck to the stove top :-(

Thanks in advance! I am getting ready to move to a bigger city, and along with the move I want to try out a few new fitness classes to use as cross training for running. I've been considering Zumba, dance classes and yoga, because I enjoy all those activities. I am, however, very uncomfortable with my current weight, and really don't want to be the only fat girl in the class. Do you know of any friendly exercise classes/ companies that would be less nerve-wracking? What has worked for you? (I am moving...
