Sun, 30 Mar 2014 17:39:29 EST quick intro Hi I'm Hana. I gained so much weight during my last pregnancy. My baby wasn't doing well, so I lived in the hospital with her for almost 6 months. That's a long time to be sedentary. So here I am at home with my lovely baby, finally, and I find myself at 100lbs over weight. I am glad for this group and look forward to sharing this journey Sat, 29 Mar 2014 22:31:04 EST Sports bra? Hello everyone! I went to my first Zumba class the other night and I almost knocked myself out...clearly it's time to invest in a sports bra. Does anyone have any recommendations? I wear a 42D, and don't mind underwires. Thanks! 2 Sat, 29 Mar 2014 19:00:23 EST Hi I'm Nicki Hello everyone! I've been around for awhile on and off and figured I'd reintroduce myself here. I'm 34 years old, live in Arkansas and have a beautiful 5 year old daughter. I am usually active on and off on the site but can be easily reached via sparkmail for support or just to chat. I'm currently going to school to be a psychologist with a minor is rehabilitation sciences (fancy term for social work). Sat, 29 Mar 2014 18:01:22 EST Hi Im Stephanie Hi Im Stephanie. I am Mom to 3 and step mom to 3, so six children in all! I am happily married to my love Billy. I am excited to be starting this healthy lifestyle. I have been back and forth for years and am now obese to say the least. I am focused and ready to make the change permanently. Which means I am not going on some crazy strict diet. I am eating healthfully and exercising. Enough about me, look forward to getting to know all of you! Sat, 29 Mar 2014 11:02:25 EST Calories + Exercise So I have a question....
When I exercise, and log it, it gives me more calories. I have a hard time mentally eating more calories. Is it bad if I don't? Am I okay not eating them? Or do I need to make the mental adjustment and eat them? Fri, 28 Mar 2014 23:47:06 EST Hello. Not sure how this works.... 24 I am going to give this a whirl. I need something to stick too...motivation, a start. Tired of the same ole outcome. Need support and I hope I can get that here. Thanks for listening 30 Wed, 26 Mar 2014 01:39:36 EST Where do you fall in your calorie range? I'm sitting here with my tummy starting to growl and 207 to 557 calories left to use today according to my nutrition tracker.

And my eating disordered brain starts to kick in. Today is Day 2 for me and yesterday I was patting myself on the back for coming in at 1140 calories for the day - 60 less than the 1200 calories that my lower end range is.

Logically, I know it's perfectly acceptable to fall somewhere in between that range of 1200 to 1500.... but I know that I will... Tue, 25 Mar 2014 19:53:33 EST Introduction Hi All!

So yesterday I was telling my husband that I'd like to lose 100 lbs in 16 months (I figured that was pretty safe). I've always been overweight/obese/whatever they call it these days, but I've always exercised and ate healthful food. I was content being fat because I could finish a 15K in under 1 hour 30 mins (my time for the 2014 Gate River Run was 1 hour 26 mins) and worked out at least 3 times a week. I make pretty good food choices most of the time, but I still don't not... Tue, 25 Mar 2014 16:57:11 EST Just wanted to introduce myself I am a mother of 4, who loves her family and to cook. Tue, 25 Mar 2014 15:47:30 EST Just starting... Hi, I'm Beth. I'm 37 years old and just starting my brand new healthy life. I've been overweight my whole life, only being "normal" during times of severe restriction of food in my teens and twenties. I have never really tried to lose weight by just eating healthy and exercising in all of my life - it has always been a series of doing whatever I wanted and then starving myself or trying some weird diet or cleanse.

I think it's high time I started to be good to myself and do this t... Mon, 24 Mar 2014 11:33:52 EST Weight Loss On A Budget I thought it would be fun if everyone could share their tips for losing weight on a budget. I have not been in a great financial situation and have had to figure out how to lose weight the cheap way.

-I have found it is not so hard to save on food. I have actually saved money on food since I changed my eating habits. Hey guys, so I was thinking about what we could do when this bingo game is over! I already have a wheel of fortune or hangman type thing in mind. The rough idea in my head is that I would give a daily exercise (like we do in bingo) and after you complete the exercise you get to guess a letter or guess the phrase. First one to guess the entire phrase wins.

But, I was wondering if any of you had any other ideas of what kind of games we all know how to play that we could possibly ... Tue, 11 Feb 2014 17:00:07 EST I'm back I took a bit of a hiatus from this site but I am back and I am proud to say that I've lost 40 pounds. I went from 236 to 195 in the matter of about a year. I initially got sick with an ulcer and was miserable, but I guess it was good for me because I can no longer eat as much as I used to. Once I started noticing that the scale kept going down and down, I decided that I would actually work at it. Yes, my weight loss has been slow, but that's mostly because my exercising has been virtually zer... Tue, 11 Feb 2014 16:18:03 EST mizzfit intro Hi all,

I'm Heather, 39 years old and I signed up with Sparks back in February 2013. I didn't really try to loss weight back then.
One day I realized I was having trouble climbing a flight of stairs and tying my own shoes. I stepped on the scale and saw 291. I was shocked that I had reached that weight. I felt a new passion to lose that weight and not look back. That was back on November 13th, 2013.
I wanted to not only do this for me but my son who wanted someone to pl... Tue, 11 Feb 2014 15:48:23 EST It's a start I'm new to spark people and still figuring the site out.

My younger child turned 13 recently. On her birthday, I found myself wondering when I get to be the priority for a change. Maybe dealing with the teen attitude and drama is just getting to me. Maybe it really is time to focus on me for me.

My weight as of last Tuesday when I chased down a local personal trainer was 224 pounds. Ideally, I'd like to lose a little more than 100 pounds but the number seems like... Mon, 10 Feb 2014 22:37:28 EST Here I am!! Hello!
My name is Sue and I am a 36 year old female looking to lose 120 pounds. Yikes....looking at the numbers it is kind of scary! I have been a member of SparkPeople for quite some time, but never really used the site until the middle of January. I am just now starting to get the hang of the site although I don't have all the bells and whistles everyone else does! (Like those cute little sliding scales that show how much weight you have lost) I will get there eventually though!
... Mon, 10 Feb 2014 18:44:50 EST Team Changes! Sun, 9 Feb 2014 17:46:42 EST Spark Activity Tracker? Is anyone using the Spark Activity Tracker? What are your thoughts on it? Worth it? Sun, 9 Feb 2014 14:17:31 EST I'm a stubborn wench Hi - So, I am on SparkPeople (again) and honestly I am not even 100% sure why except that I am feeling uncomfortable in my skin on occasion and the effects of age creeping up and I hate being out of breath all the time and the friend that would rather wait 20 minutes for the bus than walk the 15 minutes where we are going. On one hand I firmly believe that body shaming is an epidemic of societal proportions, and the pressure on people to all look alike (and in particular women) is ridiculous... Fri, 7 Feb 2014 10:49:44 EST hello from naightlyn :) hello :) i'm 35 yrs old and 265 lbs. last year i reached my all-time high of 290, which was an extremely rude awakening. in high school i was 120 wet...maybe. lol my senior year in high school i started gaining weight and it has been a roller coaster ever since. each time i would lose weight, only to pack it back on (with some of its friends, of course!). i've recently entered a "biggest loser" weight challenge at work. i know i won't win because it's based off of % and not #, which m... Thu, 6 Feb 2014 20:57:20 EST Losing weight with Big Macs and Twinkies? Has anyone else seen these articles lately about people losing weight by eating nothing but fast or junk food? There was a science teacher who lost 37 lbs in 3 months eating only McDonald's but making sure he ate no more than 2000 calories a day and walking for 45 minutes every day. Then in another case, a nutrition professor ate nothing but junk food (Twinkies, Doritos, anything made by the diminutive Little Debbie), but no more than 1800 calories a day, and lost 27 pounds. Both of them redu... I went to the gym last night an did weight training as well as 15 minutes on the bike. I would like to try the elliptical machine but I am intimidated by the look, the people doing so well on it, and the horr... I decided to listen to it a little bit ago and scared myself. I have (undiagnosed, [maybe] obstructive) sleep apnea. It's been going on a long time. I'm lucky I'm still alive right now. And the reason why it's gone undiagnosed is because I haven't had insurance to go thru a sleep study.

My husband went thru a sleep study almost 2 years ago and his sleep machine helps him. If I don't like the number, I get very frustrated. So, your challenge this week is to find (and post) a new non-scale victory every day this week. Are your clothes getting looser? Can you do an extra five minutes of a cardio exercise you struggle with? Did you increase your weights for an exercise? No matter what it is, find a way to celebrate that doesn't involve the scale.
<BR... Sparkling Water Howdy y'all! Happy Friday. So I wanted to get everyone's opinion on somethinh. I am an ex-soda fanatic that still has the random pop craving. I don't really like drinking soda anymore. What I have taken to doing is buying the flavored Sparkling Water at Kroger. What is everyone's take on it? Do you all think it's a bad thing? Is it as bad as pop? Would you count that as a serving of water?

Thanks for the thoughts all!

Jami Fri, 10 Jan 2014 18:13:03 EST Trying to figure this out. I still have a long way to reach my goal but Im not looking for a quick fix or diet. Im looking for a lifestyle change. I am hoping I can learn from all of you, and hopefully, as time goes by, I can get motivated and stay that way to achieve my goal. I should be at my ideal weight by October of next year, so we will see how that goes.... Wed, 8 Jan 2014 18:11:04 EST Hello Hi, I'm Natalie. I absolutely love to cook and relied heavily on Cooking Light Magazine for menu ideas during my last stint on spark.

Marla Tue, 26 Nov 2013 16:35:32 EST 100lbs and Thyroid Disease - Hi! I am a member of the thyroid community but I am finding that I want to lose weight naturally and I have a lot to lose, so I think that I can gain a lot from this team as well. I'm interested in supporting folks and getting it in return. If there is anyone else in the room that also is living with Hypo, I would certainly love to talk with you. The weight does not budge and at times I feel like I'm working out three times as hard as a normal person and only maintain my weight. Its been quite a ... Fri, 22 Nov 2013 10:29:02 EST Body Pump class?? Hey everyone - I have a question... I just joined the gym last week and really enjoy taking the classes. Have done Zumba and Aqua Zumba so far... This week I was thinking about taking a Body Pump class, but I'm not really sure what to expect. Do any of you have experience with this class? I don't know if I'm too overweight to try it or not. I'm already anxious about being in the gym in general so I don't want to make a fool of myself if I go in this class and can't handle it.
Any words ... Tue, 19 Nov 2013 23:30:29 EST I say 100+, PT says 70lbs?? So my husband and I just got ourselves a personal trainer. We discussed our goals and I told her my ultimate goal is to loose 117lbs and she did all her math and what not and said a realistic goal for me would be to loose 70lbs. She said a 70 lb loss would put me at a healthy BMI and a 117lb loss would put me at an unhealthy weight considering my body frame. This is the first time someone's told me this. My goal weight has always been 150lbs and she tells me I should be aiming at 198lbs. I th... Tue, 19 Nov 2013 14:45:33 EST How many calories should I eat? This is going to be a kind of confusing question...please bear with me.

I am currently a little over 200 pounds and 5'2" tall. My goal is to walk 10,000 or more steps per day. My suggested calorie range is 1200-1550 calories. If I burn 400 calories a day by walking, do I then still eat 1200-1550 calories or is that the amount if I'm inactive? I don't want to eat a too small amount of calories because I hear that's not good for metabolism and harder to maintain.

I try...
