I am on my third start with spark people and am determined that this time is my time! After seeing pictures from vacation, finding out that both my mom and my brother have been diagnosed with diabetes brought on by their weight and unhealthy habits, seeing a friend who has lost over 150 pounds by completely changing how she eats and doing Zumba and she looks amazing, and wanting to be a good role model for my kids, I have decided that I have to make some big changes. S... Fri, 18 Jul 2014 10:55:05 EST Hello from Burlington, Kansas Hello,
My name is Elizabeth. I'm a 30 yr old mom of 2 with 50.4 lbs left to lose (I've lost 18.6 so far!). I've been on SP for a while, but I'm hoping to connect with some other sparkers to help keep me focused and offer support where I can. Looking forward to meeting you! 213 Wed, 16 Jul 2014 10:19:13 EST New Today Hi Everyone,
I am a wife and mommy to a very darling 4 year old little boy. I am trying to get in shape and be healthy for myself first and my son to stop the cycle of bad eating habits. Looking for some great motivation! Tue, 15 Jul 2014 14:15:25 EST Am I really hungry? Sometimes after I eat a meal I still have a feeling as though I were hungry. I think to myself that I cant possibly still be hungry. Example for today's lunch, I had 3/4 c brown rice, 1 c black beans and 3 cups of a mixed veggie medley. about 30 minutes later I feel what I think is hunger. Does anyone else have this issue? Is there something I can try that will help or is this something that everyone goes through when they first start changing what and how much they eat? Mon, 14 Jul 2014 14:53:57 EST Hi everyone My name is Monica and I'm in real need of motivation. Mon, 14 Jul 2014 03:12:09 EST Not so new Hi! I have been a member for a few years but have been back and forth on the weight lose journey. I have fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease. Both of which cause me daily pain. I stopped taking meds due to an almost 50 lb weight gain which was a side effect of the meds. I am determined to lose the weight this time so I can enjoy my kids.and life pain free. Sun, 13 Jul 2014 22:08:11 EST Having to start all over. Turned 30 in may. I have two kids, a 7 yr old boy and a 1 yr old little girl. I work full time wake up at three in the morning which is making my eating an sleeping routine hard an a little out of wack. I had gotten down to a healthy weight but a month after my daughter I started to gain the weight back. So here I am again starting my journey to a happy healthier me. Sun, 13 Jul 2014 13:26:34 EST Hello from the Pacific Northwest! So I've been battling with my weight my entire life. I need to nip this problem in the bud. I very much enjoy eating, in fact I know I have emotional eating issues. I'm hoping I can find some good resources and A LOT of support from Sparkpeople :) My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for a long time and there is no physical reason why I cant get pregnant. I'm afraid my weight may be a factor. I cant sit by and not try something that could result in finally being parents so I... Fri, 11 Jul 2014 22:21:39 EST Former leader, now a newbie Hi everyone. JerseyFlower here. Some of you may remember me, or you might see my name as the person who started some of the team's older threads (fun things, etc.) I was a team leader here for a long time, I believe in 2011 and 2012.

It's time to introduce myself, because I've been gone and off track for a while.

I have not adjusted to healthy living while being a parent. This is a whole new ball game for me. I rocked through my pregnancy, and through my son's newborn ... Thu, 10 Jul 2014 23:52:07 EST Lorri Brown Hi everyone, My name is Lorri Brown. I just turned 33 yesterday. For 50% of my life I was a thin person and I was very active. The other 50% having babies and working all the time. I sit behind a desk all day long. I am very exhausted when I get home so there is no Gym time for me at all. I am away from my house for 15 hours a day. Tuesday I got with the girls here in the office and we have started a Biggest Losers challenge here at work. I am hoping that this gets me motivated. I try to eat ... Thu, 10 Jul 2014 16:31:06 EST Problem, need some advice... So I am working really hard at keeping in my calorie range, getting exercise, and I have started taking Alli again. I was looking for a jumpstart to weightloss to keep me motivated. Anyway, on Alli, I am limited to 14 gm of fat per meal and a 14 gm of fat for a snack. I know it says 15 gm, but if I go over 14 gm, I have side effects (been there before and know my body). What the problem I am running into is that I am struggling to get the protein grams I need per day while staying in my c... Wed, 9 Jul 2014 14:57:17 EST Hi everyone I recommitted this morning to getting healthier.

My life has been a mishmash of stress and drama over the last 4 or so months, so I've lost sight of my weight loss goals.

I don't have a lot of control over the other stressors in my life right now, but what I can control what I put in my mouth and going to the gym instead of watching endless episodes of Doctor Who and wishing the Doctor would just swoop me up in the TARDIS and fly me away.

I'm a 37-year-old... Let's do this together! Mon, 7 Jul 2014 15:07:05 EST Getting a handle on everything Hi everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to SP, but not to tracking food and exercise. Before my daughter was born 2.5 years ago I did it religiously and lost almost 40 pounds. I lost more while I was pregnant (I was on a special diet for gestational diabetes) and felt great after she was born. With all the adjustments and lack of time, that all went out the window. I am now at a place to get back on the horse. I have spent the last week exploring SP and all tracking my f... Mon, 7 Jul 2014 12:56:51 EST so frustrated I've struggled with my weight for years now and I'm at the heaviest I've been- 212. I want to lose weight because I want to feel better. I feel sick all the time, either bloated or tired of weak or short of breath. I got a fitbit and started tracking my food but I feel so physically exhausted every moment that I don't have the strength to create my meals, etc. I have all these great ideas for healthy eating and meal prep and recipes, but I feel like I need to lose some weight and start to ... Sun, 6 Jul 2014 16:51:36 EST Newbie Good afternoon,

I a newbie to the group, but not to SP. Hello, I have been using this site to help with my health for about a month now. I did not lose a lot of weight but I think what I’m doing so far is better than nothing. :)

I used a competitor’s site for about 2 years, and lost 45 pounds in total. I was very proud of myself and very happy about the results.

Unfortunately, because of different circumstances, and a lack of motivation, I regained 30 pounds pretty quickly. I still have some of the benefits of fitness that I... Fri, 4 Jul 2014 16:28:44 EST Hi! I am new! I joined about 2 weeks ago, and I so far I love SP. I was 236 but I have already lost 5lbs, my goal weight is 135. I really just want to be healthier. I got my mom and husband started and I am really looking forward to getting fit, so I can play and have fun with my kids. I have 4 ages 7 and under, and I am tired of being too tired or out of shape to have a good time with them. If you have any tips which help with making sure I use SP correctly let me know. :) Fri, 4 Jul 2014 13:54:44 EST Now less than 100 pounds to lose to goal Hello,

I started back with SP after a hiatus of three years in May of 2013. At that point I had lost 20 to 25 pounds and had about 130 pounds more to lose to get to my goal weight.

Now, after losing a total of 50- 60 pounds - half of that with SP - I am less than 100 pounds to my goal weight. I need to lose about 90 more pounds.

So I moved from the 100+ pounds to lose team to here.

It was nice to realize I had moved a "level down" lol.
<... Thu, 3 Jul 2014 14:07:42 EST Heart scare leading to me focusing on ME I am a 36 year old mom of 4 kiddos ( 14, 12, 9, and 7) and recently I wasn't feeling well. The doctor decided to do a bunch of tests including an EKG that came back abnormal. I FREAKED out! My mom had heart disease for years, finally passing away from it before she was even 60. I have never smoked so that was a plus. I don't have the all clear yet until I get a stress test on July 10th. But, the cardiologist doesn't think I have anything to worry about. Yet. But I DO need to lose 70-80... Thu, 3 Jul 2014 11:54:28 EST Hello Hi I'm Melissa and am new. I am married with two toddlers. I stay home with the kids and just started my own business of crafts. Wed, 2 Jul 2014 19:57:08 EST I'm struggling and need some serious motivation. Hello everyone,

I'm 30 years old and a stay at home mom to 3 beautiful children (8,6 and 8 months). Like many people here I've struggled with my weight almost all of my life. Having children has, needless to say, made my struggle so much more difficult. I've yo-yo'd through my weight loss and gain over the years going from 220 to 150 and back.

When I was pregnant with my little girl I actually weighed the same the day I delievered her as when I got pregnant with her and... Wed, 2 Jul 2014 13:41:51 EST Im new sort of Hello Team!

I'm here again...first time I joined Sparkpeople I lost 75lbs. I never reached my goal but I went from a size 18/20 to 10. Well I've gained 20lbs back due to falling in love and now I'm a 12 peeking at a size 14. I can't go back to a 18 so I'm ready to reach my goal. Tue, 1 Jul 2014 17:54:43 EST Hi Hi, my name is Emily. I have tried unsuccessfully to loose weight in the past. I think my goals were a bit too much to fast. Recently I got into a routine of preparing breakfast and lunch ahead of time to help me get into a routine of working at six-o'clock in the morning. I ended up loosing enough weight that I needed to buy new pants. That made me think that I should give weight loss a try again. Knowing that big goals overwhelm me I bought a fitbit fitness tracker to track my steps. ... Tue, 1 Jul 2014 10:38:37 EST Hi! from St. Louis, MO I am obviously new here. Just wanted to say Hi! Yay me good... Tue, 24 Jun 2014 12:22:54 EST Getting involved Hello, my name is BJ. I'm not exactly new to Sparkpeople, my wife got me on here a few years ago but we're in medical school and sitting in classes 8 hours a day then studying for 6 to 8 hours in the evenings has lead to a very sedentary life and many poor eating choices so now I'm trying to lose the 50 lbs that I've gained over the past few years. Mon, 23 Jun 2014 12:30:27 EST Here I go again! Hey everyone! Just getting set up on this site. I've lost and gained many times but I have to give it a go again and make it last. I have three kids, a great DH and an awesome job. We wre so busy that I often just don't eat much at all. Gotta figure it out before the fall craziness starts again! Fri, 20 Jun 2014 21:57:51 EST Hi! I am new and apprehensive. Hi!

I am new to this site. I just started today. I have a lot of weight to lose. Ninety-seven (97) pounds to be exact. My goals are to lose weight, get healthy and fit, and become a runner. I have always wanted to be a runner. Runners seem so strong and free. My dream to complete a marathon one day. Hopefully sooner than later! lol. Unfortunately, I need some get up and go. Hoping to find information and encouragement here. Thank you.

Donna Fri, 20 Jun 2014 20:05:18 EST New to the site I am new here to SparkPeople. I have been using MyFitnessPal and do like it a lot, I'm just exploring all of my options. Any tips for a newbie?? Fri, 20 Jun 2014 08:11:05 EST What's on your playlist for working out? Trying to create a fast fun playlist for the gym. I bet if we all post some of the songs we have on ours, we could get a great list going :) Tue, 17 Jun 2014 14:24:18 EST Joining again after a long time I was a previous member, years ago. I decided to re-join today and I am so glad that I did. I need to be accountable for my activities and exercise and also for my weight loss (or in recent weigh-ins, my weight gain). Its time to lose some of this. Tue, 17 Jun 2014 09:36:20 EST I'm Glad I Found SP! HI Everyone! For the first time ever I can say that I'm finally able to lose weight for GOOD! SP is the first calories tracking program that actually helps me understand how much to eat and how much exercise I need to lose weight. I always knew I needed to eat 500 calories less each day to lose a pound at the end of the week but I was never able to maintain my weight loss because I wasn't tracking my food right. Plus I was working out so much that I just became mentally and physically exhaust... Tue, 17 Jun 2014 00:08:49 EST At the beginning of this journey Hi everyone! I am Jenny, and after losing and gaining for over 20 years, I am done with the yo yoing...and back on Spark after being away. I am so overwhelmed, but I know I just need to begin. I have lost 50lbs before, but always with the help of diet pills. So this is the first time I am attempting this without 'help'.
Mon, 16 Jun 2014 14:42:52 EST Back on SP after being away for a long time!
Hi,

Like the subject says, I'm back on SP after being away for a long time. I've reset my goals, and I'm trying to get in shape again.

I used the site for a couple of years probably 5 years ago and I lost 30-40 lbs. But since then I haven't been on consistently. Now I'm trying to get back into it. When I was last active, I was in the 20 somethings Team, but I've been an inactive member of this team for some time (since some random login in the past). Mon, 16 Jun 2014 13:00:42 EST over the years Hi, my name is Victoria, I'm 32 years old. I was on sparkpeople a couple of years ago, and had some success with it, but later deleted my account. Well, I'm back because over the years, the weight has been coming on. I gained most after a three month hospital stay in 2012, I stared buying all this food to compensate for what I was eating there. Later I was hospitalized again in 2013 and gained 20 pounds there. Now I gained 10 pounds more because of medication and lack of exercise. Enough is e... I have always been overweight but while my current BMI is in the obese range, my weight has been stable for the last 8 years within about 5 pounds so I haven't really worried about it too much.

Then I got some medical test results last month that were a real bombshell. Until the age of 30 I never had trouble with my weight - always between size 3 & 5. After that a combination of depression and fibromyalgia took it's toll - I went from 115 to 230 lbs. 3 years ago after my divorce I managed to lose almost 70 lbs and hold steady at 160, good but not great. In the last year I started gaining that back and now weigh in at 185 again. I've noticed a huge difference in my health too, after losing the weight the fibro and migraines were easier to manage. Gaining... Mon, 9 Jun 2014 10:52:20 EST Heathy BMI and People Who Don't Think It's Healthy Okay so I started with 70 pounds to lose and I have lost 49 so far in the last 9 months with 21 left but I keep running into people being impressed with how well I've done but thinking the next 20 pounds is unrealistic even though my goal is to be just within the healthy BMI range. I think it's really weird that people act this way! Has anyone else run into this?

I actually had someone say, after being taken aback that I had 21 left, exact words "You don't want your skin to get... Wed, 4 Jun 2014 16:49:32 EST New Hi!! I'm new to all of this. I really need some motivation! Excited to get started on my weight loss journey! Tue, 3 Jun 2014 20:37:47 EST Nothing getting in the way this time Hi everyone! My name is Reeda! I have tried many times to lose weight and lead a more healthy lifestyle but I have failed each and every time. After lots of soul searching, I figured out that the reason I have failed is that I have been self defeating from the word go. All I ever did was live up to my belief that I couldn't do it.

All that has changed. It's amazing the wake up call you can give yourself when you stop lying to yourself and blaming everything else. This time I will ... Tue, 3 Jun 2014 13:54:09 EST I'm ready to do this! Hi all :) this is first time experience for me and I hope that it is worth the effort. Losing this weight is important to me and I will try to see it thru the end. I'm not too social in the web world so posting regularly will be a feat. Although I aim to be consistent with tracking and logging, life tends to get it the way (hence the need to lose this weight)...ironic huh...I hope to be successful in this endeavor and finish out strong. Wish me luck and I look to see some of y'all at the end ... Sun, 1 Jun 2014 09:08:22 EST Another newbie 35 year old, happily married, homeschooling, mother of 4 - ready to take my life back. Thu, 29 May 2014 09:51:48 EST Need Friends Good morning Everyone,

I am new to Sparkpeople, and I am looking for friends to help me stay motivated. My overall goal is to lose 110 pounds. With a short goal of losing 50 pounds by Nov. Thu, 29 May 2014 08:48:00 EST Back again! Hi! I'm Claire. I'm back to spark after not using it for about... five years or so? I just had my first child and put on a TON of weight after I had him. He was two months early and if I had ever had any doubts on whether or not I was a stress eater, I have indeed confirmed those. So, I'm here because I know it works and I'm ready to lose the weight! Wed, 28 May 2014 22:26:39 EST So discouraged! Not sure what I did wrong This is my third week and I'm already feeling devastated. Lost 7 pounds in the first two weeks, then gained back 4 this past week. I tracked my food and didn't do as well this past week as I did before, but it was still a major improvement over what I'd eat before I started. The first two weeks, I kept my calories around 1200 - 1400, but this past week there were several day that were around 1800. While I can see that slowing the pace of the weight loss or even stalling it, I don't understand... Wed, 28 May 2014 13:54:51 EST Need Some Extra Motivation Hello Everyone,
I love this group mission because it matches exactly where I am at. I really lost a lot of my "self" this year while also gaining a lot of weight and breaking years of good, strong eating habits. I am trying to get into a routine that includes regular exercise, good eating, cooking healthy food and losing weight. I have decided that an on-line forum would be a good start. Looking forward to working on these goals with everyone!! Wed, 28 May 2014 10:03:07 EST Newbie with an injury who loves to cook Hi There,
I was always very active then had to be on medication, one of the side effects was pretty hefty weight gain. I found out by experience and from others who had been on the medication, not because the doctor gave me options. Anyway, I changed doctors after a few years and he told me what I had feared, that the constant craving of food was indeed a side effect, and put me on something different but the damage had been done. But uh since I entered this new decade a couple months ago, I guess that is no longer true? I never really did reverse it while I was still young.
So many things I've wanted to do since I wa... However, with a busy job and a young one at home I tend to not participate much in the "team page".

I'd like to say goodbye to the team. Today I officially turn 4... I know I build muscle easily and was going hard on the weights for a bit and noticed I was getting rather bulky in the arms... I d... Thu, 13 Feb 2014 22:14:28 EST Getting back in the swing of things... Hi! I have been on and off diets for many years and just recently decided to consider myself going through a change of lifestyle rather than another diet. I am committed to exercising at least 5-6 days a week, only eating 2 servings of whole grains a day, 1 serving of lean beef a week, and I am only eating healthy sugars (like fruit) other than my one cheat a week. This is my 3rd week following my new lifestyle plan and not only have I lost 6.2 lbs but I just generally feel better. I haven't ... Thu, 13 Feb 2014 22:01:04 EST Hello Hi guys. I'm Brooke. I have been off and on this site for years losing and gaining, but at this point in my life I decided I better get serious. I'm married and have two young children and I'm not doing them any favors or setting a good example the way things are at this moment. So I'm sure I will be seeing you around. Wed, 12 Feb 2014 22:33:09 EST Another New Girl Hello! I could write pages on 'Who I Am,' but I will spare you (for now) and just break it down to the basics. I am 30-something, married and mommied. I've been on my weight loss journey for several years. I've come a long way, losing 60lbs. (my halfway point), completely reversing my diabetes risk after over a decade of hovering on the line, and lowering my triglycerides by 400+ points. I became a fitness coach, and was at the top of my game. The day after my first 5K, I was diagnosed with t... Wed, 12 Feb 2014 21:47:20 EST Intro Hi. This always feels so awkward, but I'm a stay at home mom of 4 and I watch my 2 nieces during the week. So with caring for 6 kids most days (5 of whom are 4 and under), I find myself grabbing whatever to eat, not paying attention to how much of it I'm eating, and then stress eating during the few moments I have to myself. I lost a bunch of weight 7 years ago, but have gained it all back plus a little more. I have been blaming everything else, but really I am in control of what I am putting... Wed, 12 Feb 2014 14:14:52 EST Howdy! Hi everyone! My name is Dori, I'm 35. I was on another site for the last few years but looked at this one, as a few people commented it was better and though I haven't been on here long, I love all the different options and more in-depth nutrition on here and am happy I switched! I'm still learning to navigate this site. After being so close to my ultimate goal when I got married, I gained a lot of weight afterwards due to many factors(one being my husband is an incredible cook). Thankfully w... Wed, 12 Feb 2014 00:46:32 EST motivation interruption due to enemy Hey howdy

So, I wrote in my blog about my day yesterday and how excited I was at the possibility of trying something new and good for myself to get started again on being healthy and fit even with my thesis paper breathing down my neck every day. I gotta have time for me.

So I make this list of the things I need to accomplish the next few months and ideas to get me there. I was eager to start today and really get working when the cold or flu from Hell just up and hit m... Tue, 11 Feb 2014 22:08:44 EST Try try try Hi all! I was here a few years ago and left to return to Babyfit and I'm back!

Within the last 6 months I was down to 220 lbs and then surged up to 240. I'm currently at 235... I don't think I will ever actually see 160 again but it's a nice dream. Tue, 11 Feb 2014 17:58:58 EST Odd Question about Food I have an odd question. Are you able to eat all of your calories each day and still eat healthy? I am really struggling to do so. I exercise for an hour a day and, using a heart rate monitor, I know I burn roughly 425 calories. Add that to the minimum of 1200 that I am to eat a day, it bumps me to a minimum of about 1625 calories a day. I just can't consume that much food in order to meet the necessary calories unless I don't eat healthy. I don't want to stop exercising. Any ideas?? Tue, 11 Feb 2014 17:46:59 EST Salutations! Hello all! I am 34 and in need of losing weight. I need somewhere to check in where I can be honest about my successes and defeats. I've been married for ten years and in that time I've gained on average 6 lbs a year. It's time to stop. My weigh loss goals are as follows:

Reach 199 lbs and no longer have a 2 in front of my weight
Reach 185 lbs and fall into "Overweight" BMI
Reach 150 lbs and be the weight I was at my wedding
Reach 125 lbs and be smack in the mid... Tue, 11 Feb 2014 12:25:08 EST Straight to the point introduction. I normally do not join groups that have more than a couple dozen people because most members are inactive and/or you get lost in the mix. I saw more than a few active threads here so I thought this would be a good exception.

I am a full time single mom to a 3 year old who does not attend daycare so I try to maintain his development with preschool activities. He also attends (when town is not flooded like now) 5 different club activities each week. Tue, 11 Feb 2014 12:01:59 EST HeyHey Hi Everyone,

My name is Stephanie and after being away from Sparkpeople for approx 462 (according to my last status update) and due to a birthday in August have now left behind the 20-something group and have joined this one!! I have sadly let my weight get totally out of control, but am now getting back on track and working hard to not use food as my coping mechanism for other stresses in my life.
I'm really hoping to stay m... Mon, 10 Feb 2014 18:47:21 EST Hello Again I used SP around a year ago and fell of the wagon when some things went south at home in the fall. Unfortunately, a lot of the friends I made on here were also gone. I greatly enjoyed and felt motivated by seeing positive posts and even struggles in the friend feed. So, anyone who wants to add me as a friend I'd like that!
I'm Kelly from Indiana, 36, 201 lbs at 5ft tall. Eating out is my biggest problem, as is commuting 2 hours every work day. Mon, 10 Feb 2014 10:46:55 EST Starting over I tried spark before, and I think the reason it did not stick was because I was not social and just used the food/fitness tracker. This time around I am using more of the functions. It is a huge wake up call to go from needing to lose 20- 30 pounds to needing to lose 50+ in a matter of 2 years. I can't believe I let myself gain so much and never put a stop to the bad habits that where causing it. I kicked the Dt Mt Dew habbit a few months ago but replaced it with Dt Dr Pepper and Dt Root ... Sun, 9 Feb 2014 17:02:33 EST A new lease on life Hi all!

I am a 32 year old cancer survivor, wife and mom of one. After a 5 year battle with multiple myeloma I am gratefully in full response to treatment, though I am loathe to say I am healthy. For this entire journey I have told myself that the extra weight is from all the steroids, or that I would lose it when I had my transplant last spring, but not so. While I believe that during treatment was not the time to try to lose weight I don't think that gaining(!) 50lbs assisted ... Sat, 8 Feb 2014 00:55:08 EST Hi looking to gain friends and lose weight.. Hi
Im a stay at home mom..Ive been overweight my entire life and been called fat since the first day at school when I didnt even know what the word meant. Thu, 6 Feb 2014 20:26:52 EST Gained back all the weight I lost :( I was doing great my first 3 weeks. I lost 4 pounds. This week I was so busy, I didn't keep track of what I was eating. I ate what I had available. I still did my 45 to 60 mins. exercise daily but, I guess I was eating more calories than I was losing. I gained 3 pounds. I'm off to my zumba class today. I am charging on. I will not lose hope. I also took measurements today. I'm hoping I am losing fat and gaining muscles. Can we seem like we are gaining if we are losing fat and gaini... Thu, 6 Feb 2014 15:26:46 EST I'm new... Hello,

I am new to spark people, and have just recently decided to focus on getting myself healthier. I am from Tampa, FL, and am a RN. I work in the local school district as a school nurse, and just graduated school in January 2014. I have been overweight, and now obese, since I was 11, so after 20 years I need to make the change. I am excited to begin my journey, but also apprehensive as I know it will be a long, hard road. Thu, 6 Feb 2014 11:07:43 EST Hi I am new Looking to lose 60 pounds for June 2015, need motivations and new ideas to exercise (not a big fan) but I know that exercise and healthy eating are the key!!! Hope to enjoy the journey and help every time I can Thu, 6 Feb 2014 09:50:09 EST Week 2 and I'm actually doing this! I am excited to see so many resisting a bad food they are craving and getting up and exercising! You all give more motivation than you think to other people on this team! It has definitely helped me! I have skipped a couple desserts that I wanted this week since it didn't fit within my calorie intake and those triumphs, while small to some, feel so empowering to me! I'm doing this and I will control my own life and health! Oops, I meant to put this under the weekly chat but guess I'm s... Thu, 6 Feb 2014 08:53:25 EST Hi everybody!! I am not new to SP, I have been a member since 2007. I lost a lot of weight running and doing crossfit, but then had knee surgery (running long distances when you are over 300lbs, maybe not such a good plan...)- I gained a bunch back, but luckily not all and have been fighting to get the rest off. Wed, 5 Feb 2014 03:26:30 EST Hi everyone! Hi y'all! I'm very new to this and have no idea if I am posting in the right place, but I want to introduce myself and see if there is anyone else out there who needs some motivation. I really don't want to do this alone! :-) Anyway, I'm Sunny (yes, that is my real name ;-)) and I'm in my late 30s. I would love to lose weight and get healthier! So, how does this work? And how do I find friends on this thing? Thanks! Tue, 4 Feb 2014 19:08:38 EST Hi! Hi :)

I'm new here, been tracking my food since feb 1stI figured i should go one step at a time instead of overwhelming myself with a bunch of new things at once. Hoping to see at least 50lbs melt away :) One of my favorite adds is Nike's "Just DO it!" and I am having that as my mantra this year :) Lots of love and happiness to all of you! Mon, 3 Feb 2014 14:18:24 EST Excited and motivated!! Hi, I am a mother of 4 and a full time nursing student! I am ready to get this weight off once and for all..I hate that I started the weekend of superbowl but i did not go too overboard!! Sun, 2 Feb 2014 22:49:57 EST Second time's a charm :) Hey! I've been wanting to lose weight for a while (and tried once before), but I'm an awesome procrastinator, and have been putting it off. I've been avoiding looking in mirrors, but when I passed by one a couple weeks ago and caught my reflection, I thought to myself, "Man I'm fluffy, this has to stop!" Despite this, I'm having a tough time getting started so any advice or support would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I'm addicted to junk food!

I'm starting a 6-month clas... Sun, 2 Feb 2014 22:31:10 EST How would you track this? Hi Everyone!

Today I walked outside with my daughter to sell Girl Scout cookies. We were out for 40 minutes, but most of that time was spent standing while she talked to the people at each house. When we were walking, it was pretty slow because the sidewalks and driveways were super icy. So, I'm not sure how to track this! I didn't think to bring my pedometer with me so I have no idea what the number of steps was. If I track 40 minutes of walking, that doesn't seem right. But it wa... Sun, 2 Feb 2014 14:41:30 EST Exercise videos for kids? Does anyone have any good recommendations for workout videos for kids that I could do with them? It is near impossible to find time to work out, so I am going to attempt to get the kids involved (Since they could use exercise as well!). Just need some good activities or videos that don't require a lot of room (we don't have a large living space) for kids ages 3-14...
Sun, 2 Feb 2014 13:06:07 EST Hi, I'am giving this another try! Hello everyone! I have so many obstacles to get past, I have decided to take control before it goes out of control, I do not over eat, I under eat which is just as bad if not worse. I have develped a phobia about looking at myself in the mirror and hating the reflection. I know I need to feel better about myself. I am hoping to change all these issues about myself in a helathier and more positive way! Sun, 2 Feb 2014 12:49:46 EST Newbie again Hi everyone, I joined back in July, but lost motivation. Then my husband asked me to marry him again (renew our marriage vows) for our 15th anniversary this year! So now I have new motivation- a dress fitting coming up in May! I am also hoping that I can change to a healthier lifestyle, and pass that on to our 7 kids. Any suggestions for dealing with Thyroid disease, working out with 7 kids, and encouraging those 7 kids to better eating would be greatly appreciated!
Oh, and my goal is t... Sun, 2 Feb 2014 12:35:24 EST Spark Reloaded I joined Spark back in 2008, was laid off from work in 2009 and I stepped away from Spark and eating healthy. I am back motivated, I picked up a Nutribullet recently and have enjoyed the morning smoothies. I am looking at getting back in to running, but will start with walking first. I want to get back to my weight I was when I was in the military and a daily routine. I don't expect a change overnight, but I want to do something to make a change now that I am 35. Sun, 2 Feb 2014 11:16:52 EST disappointment I am not sure if I am "assuming" anything. But I swear my husband is trying to sabotage this whole healthy thing I have going on. He brings home fast food, candy, and soda frequently. These are things I loved when I was just not caring about anything. I have nicely declined every time he has offered me anything. However, last night he brought home a small order (which is much smaller than I would have wanted in the past) of sweet and sour chicken and rice. I gave in!
Now I feel like cru...
