SparkPeople Homeschooling Pre-K through High School Team Messageboard Encouraging Christian homeschool parents with the joys and challenges related to our passion to homeschool our children at any age and encouraging each other to be fit and healthy. SparkPeople Homeschooling Pre-K through High School Team Messageboard New Team started for caregivers.. .interested? Hey Everybody, I began a team as a support group for people who are in the middle of raising children AND caring for aging parents. It's pretty tricky to balance it all and I thought Spark would be a great place to find support. The team is called The Sandwich Generation. It is a private group and needs an invitation. This team's goals will focus on finding UNWINDING time for yourself, fitting exercise in your busy day, and finding creative ways to be a blessing to your aging parent. Mostl... Mon, 5 Oct 2015 12:43:05 EST Can't I tweak these goals? So here's the thing. Our team goal is 8 hours of sleep...but I'm lucky to get 3 straight hours because I am on call throughout the night to help with my Mom who is staying with us. I actually have a goal recorded of only THREE hours! My goal for water is FOUR cups, (I'm getting better, though) and my goal for exercise is only 10 minutes while I rebuild by momentum. But I've been a REALLY REALLY REALLY good girl. Can't ya'll work with me? Mon, 5 Oct 2015 12:34:17 EST New to the team! Hi! My name is Carrie.I live in Northeast Tennessee. I am 35 years old, child of God, wife, and mother of 3 amazing boys and 1 beautiful princess :) My husband also has a 27 year old boy and a boy who went to be with the Lord at the age of 20. My oldest was born at 27.5 weeks and has beaten all odds and the doctors claimed and grown up into a healthy now 17 year old. After many years of praying for more children, God brought an incredible man into my life who went through 2 surgeries to make ... Fri, 25 Sep 2015 23:51:18 EST New "Struggle" This Year Hi everyone! We started our homeschooling year today and an interesting problem that I never encountered popped up today. Even when we do work over the summer (to try to stay in a routine), the transition is always a bit strange for the kiddos because my husband is a public school teacher- so suddenly he is out of the house, usually before they wake up. I thought I would pick your brain on my "struggle"...

The last two years my youngest had "worksheets" to do when I was helping her... Mon, 31 Aug 2015 16:57:12 EST New to the team Hi everyone. I have been with SparkPeople since May. I lost 20 pounds before joining, but just gained back 10 on a vacation. =( I am hoping joining some new teams that are a better fit will motivate me.
This will be my third year of homeschooling. My son is a 1st grader (we started with him in Pre-K). He has Asperger's, so his quirks and high IQ have made homeschooling an interesting adventure. My daughter is in her second and final year of Pre-K. Tue, 25 Aug 2015 19:45:19 EST New Today First day on SparkPeople and also starting a new diet and exercise plan. 29 year old mother of 3 boys! 9, 7, & 4 months! I am also a wife to a wonderful husband but most of all im a Christian. I homeschool my 2 oldest sons. I also sell on eBay. I stay pretty busy but lucky I have God to get me thru it all. 521 Sat, 15 Aug 2015 14:18:41 EST Finding Your Rhythm Ever have a great rhythm and lose it, and then try to find it again? But i want a place to check in once I do. Tue, 5 Nov 2013 09:16:37 EST Introducing Myself! Hi everybody!

My name is Erin, and I'm a homeschooling mom to my three kids-- my sons who are in 5th and 3rd grade, and my daughter who is in preschool this year.

This is our fourth year homeschooling; my oldest started out in Christian school and we switched to homeschool when that became a not financially viable option for us. This is our first year participating in a co-op, which is just such a great opportunity for us. I am teaching a speech class to the junior and s... Sat, 5 Oct 2013 08:48:29 EST Halloween candy temptation month! Ok, October is here. I weighed in at 218.2, quite the increase from last month. I had hit 220 at on point so I am hoping with the govt shutdown and hubby being out of work more homecooked foods will help me lose weight. Wed, 2 Oct 2013 21:38:37 EST Need to get back on track I seem to always come back to Sparkpeople after deleting my account. I need to get back on track with my health, exercising, and eating. Kind of tough now that our homeschool day is lasting about 5-6 hours. I'm homeschooling a 2nd grader and 4th grader.

I'll have to make exercising a priority first thing in the morning. I wake up early enough that I'll be able to do this...just need to do it and not wait until I feel like it. If I can start planning meals, then this would also hel... Mon, 30 Sep 2013 14:51:01 EST Pulling my 6th grader from public school. Help! I am about to pull my son from public school. He is in 6th grade this year. I am already homeschooling my 5 year old for kindergarten due to sever allergy's. I have three boys all together (K, 6th, 7th). My oldest loves going to school. He is my 7th grader. My middle son is having what I would call a separation anxiety if there is such a thing I don't know. He is in the 6th grade. I won't go into details but I feel it's time to take action. I plan on taking him out early next week. I'm very n... Wed, 25 Sep 2013 10:52:18 EST time4learning?

Has anyone used time4learning as part of all of their curriculum? How did you like it? I think that the latter 2 dates are probably obscure enough ... Sun, 1 Sep 2013 09:44:43 EST 31 days of prayer.... There are many, many ways to pray for people in our lives, but often we may feel overwhelmed in finding the words we want to use to pray for those whom we love. Not long ago I found this and thought I would share with you.

/c5/5e/25/c55e255b0b1f98753346bd3b8dde
6348.jpg
Fri, 30 Aug 2013 13:04:20 EST Relation ships... Often times homeschooling parents wear many "hats". We wear ourselves thin and fail to replenship ourselves. We neglect relationships, especially the relationship that helped to create the little miracles we are now spending most of our day focusing on. I encourage you this weekend to reconnect with your spouse by engaging him in meaningful conversation. This can be a trial if you haven't been practicing it for a while. But it also means you both have been neglecting each other or a while as ... Fri, 30 Aug 2013 12:58:40 EST Welcome to August! How are you doing? Mon, 5 Aug 2013 12:18:19 EST Traditions? Mon, 3 Jun 2013 10:17:28 EST May 2013 accountability It is the middle of the week, a new month, and I am checking in. Yesterday my clothes were fitting so loosely I would have thought there was some great movement on the scale, but alas I stepped on for my morning weigh in and was met with disappointment.
