I'm Alex! http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x1135x66491780 Hi everyone, I'm Alex (cometkazi). I've been up and down losing weight (lose 20 pounds, gain it back, again and again) and I'm really sick of it. I've been overweight since middle school- I blame it on not being coordinated enough for sports and high doses of Abilify and Prozac. But at this point, I'm tired and scared. My cholesterol is through the roof, and though my doctor is trying to wean me off of the Abilify, I'm not sure if it will work, and if it doesn't, what then? My point is, I'm h... My goal is to become more fit and healthy for the long haul. I have already started working out, watching portion sizes, and using Whey Protein with milk. Fri, 17 Mar 2017 12:03:26 EST Ready to change. http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x1135x66373029 I recently turned 48 and realized that I had wasted a lot of time when it comes to myself. When I reflect back to the person that went to the gym between 3 - 5 times a week, I wonder how I could end up in such bad shape. Life threw some sharp punches my way and knocked me down. I know that I have to get up and punch back so I can take myself back. I know I'll never be the person that I was in my prime, so many years ago, but I can be better than who I am today. I lost 70 pounds several years ago and kept it off for many years. However, I broke my arm and injured my knee which stopped my ability to exercise like I once did. If I exercise regularly I seem to be able to eat better. I have regained 45 pounds and feel terrible. It has been like a snowball effect. I am hoping to lose the weight and regain a healthy lifestyle even with a knee that hurts at times. Sat, 18 Feb 2017 14:27:29 EST Hello Everyone :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x1135x66070707 I rejoined Spark People a few days ago to help me stay on track with healthy eating. I'm having trouble keeping triglycerides numbers down and have been on Pravistatin for some time. I believe I'm having side effects and would love to go off of the statin to see if that is the cause. Being able to track food definitely helps me to see patterns in my food choices and helps me to choose foods mindfully.
