I am a 55yr old grandmother with multiple health issues and chronic pain.

I have used this program back in July of 2009 and I lost some weight. Hi everyone!
I have been reading about Michael Thurmond's 6 week body makeover for about 2 weeks. I want to order.... but I want some REAL reviews. People have said its very restricting and the food is bland... bla bla.. does it work? Are you finding that your grocery bill has increased? How much cooking is involved? Is it do-able? Has anyone here ever drank Almond Milk? I'm a big fan of milk and dairy. When I did Atkins years ago I would cheat and splurge on milk. So now that I'm on another no-milk diet I knew I would have to come up with an alternative to milk. Since I live with other people, there's always a big gallon of delicious milk in the fridge, so unless I have an alternative I just know I'll give in during a week moment. A little treat can go a long way.

So I've purchased a carton of Almond Br... Sun, 6 Sep 2009 23:38:34 EST Sodium? How much is allowable? I just finished day three on the program. Yesterday I attended a wedding reception and did better then I thought I would. The meal was buffet style so I stuck to the chicken caesar salad. I'm on day 2 of my first week and I'm so excited to have finally gotten started! Things are going well so far, but I do have one concern.

I put my meals & snacks for today into the tracker and if I stick to my plan I'll only eat 761 calories today. That can't possibly be enough to sustain me. Thu, 11 Jun 2009 13:04:47 EST Kit is in the mail! Hi everyone!

I ordered my 6WBMO kit today!!! I paid the full amount, so I'm hoping to have the kit by next week. But, I'd like to get a start on my healthier eating/detox now. Other than the obvious processed/fast foods, salt and sugar to avoid, is there anything else I should get out of my system?

Much to my boyfriend's dismay, I know that as a B body type I have to cut down on red meat. I'm also doing my 100 oz of water starting today. Any other "big" things I can... Tue, 9 Jun 2009 16:37:10 EST Buddies, Please Forgive Me! I began this program with some of you a few weeks ago. I had a perfect day (which I've NEVER really done before), but I freaked out the next morning and had a turkey sandwich. Then I took the day "off." Then, it wasn't Monday anymore...
I was actually really proud of myself and surprised by many things. First of all, my family really liked what I had made for dinner that night. I'm finally getting back on the band wagon. It's been a while since I've been on my 6wbmo program. I had my first baby in December and never watched my food intake my whole pregnancy. I am happy to report that I only gained 25 pounds during my entire pregnancy. I'm not really sure how I was able to keep my weight down. After the baby weight came off, I was 10 lbs lighter than before I got pregnant. However, since then I've gained all but 3 pounds of that back. I've realized... First, let me say that I just ordered the program and probably will not be starting it for another week or so when I get it in (so cannot talk from personal experience).

I did read that some people had trouble with this diet (I read after I ordered). They had low energy or felt nauseous. That scared me a little bit because I did pass out once after trying the Fat Fast from the Atkins Diet when I had a long stall. I know this is nothing that extreme, but it does scare me a bit. <... Sun, 15 Mar 2009 16:26:36 EST Introduction I am a 25 year old law student from the Seattle area. I am currently around 165 lb, but want to get down to 135 lb by my law school graduation (mid-June). I was once that weight in college after doing the Atkins diet, but I stopped to do South Beach. I gained most of my weight during my first year of law school as I tried to do South Beach, but it was hard to stick to it. Then this summer I decided to go back on Atkins and lost about 10 pounds then stalled. I went back to South Beach aft... Sun, 15 Mar 2009 16:23:55 EST Hi I'm new to this team. Hi,

I am new to this team. I am so glad to have found a 6WBMO group on Spark. I was on the program for a couple months last year and lost 10 lbs. but didn't stick with it. So I'm back. I live in Chester County, PA and have a 10 year old daughter and a 4 year old son. A great husband too! I love how I feel when I follow the 6WBMO way of life. I just need to hold onto that feeling. So anyway, glad to have found this group.

Margaret Fri, 13 Mar 2009 18:54:26 EST Question Howdy,
I am new to the team. I go to school two days a week and I am not sure how I'm going to eat on plan during those days. Any suggestions? I would be due to eat during two classes. There is only 15 minutes in between, not enough time to run to my car, I'll have to carry it in my backpack. <B... This is the one detail about the 6WBMO program that still has me sitting on the fence. Any advice as to how to cook (meats and veggies) so food isn't so bland or sticking to pans. I am aware of using spices but I will not use nonstick cookware (there have been recent studies linking the use of these with various health issues and I'm not taking my chances). Thanks for ... Sun, 15 Feb 2009 18:05:13 EST Rate of weight loss on 6WBMO I was wondering how much people generally lose per week on this plan as I am concerned about losing too much too soon and ending up with the dreaded saggy skin syndrome. Anyone have any suggestions to slow down weight loss if I am losing too fast? (Haven't yet started the program and I would like to lose no more than 2-3 lbs./week). Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks! Fri, 13 Feb 2009 03:06:16 EST what about milk?? So i worked my butt off and got real hungry and ate some tea sandwiches. They were no-nos. Hi all!
I'd like to see some suggestions for snacks you can take along when you'll be away from refrigeration, microwave, etc., for mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack, for those days when I'm out running errands.

My favorite "Snack" to bring to work is a steam-fresh microwave bag of broccoli, and chicken breast & about 1/2 Tbsp of balsamic vinegar in a large, resealable bowl.
