Sun, 21 Jun 2015 01:35:32 EST reintroduce myself I have spent along time in and out of counseling. One thing that I have needed to work on is boundaries. The question is what can I replace it with? Plain water is good, but I think I need something more. Sun, 25 Mar 2012 11:29:24 EST Family Home Evening This Week What are your plans? Sun, 1 Mar 2009 17:24:31 EST Fast Sunday Many of the rich and famous go spend a lot of their money on Colonics a procedure where they basically lie on a table, get an enema to clean out their lower intestines and drink lots of coffee to bring it all down. They roll around a bit to get things covered. Wed, 31 Dec 2008 11:38:28 EST Getting Ready For 2009 Goals Just today and tomorrow and then it is the New Year and I for one am "off vacation" from tracking, etc. and am back to getting serious. In preparation for this I have; cleaned up my SparkPage and checked to see if I have needed to change or update anything, gone over my goal page and updated and cleaned it up, and just evaluated and made plans for my goals for 2009 and how I'm going to achieve them. So here is a goal for you to say goodbye to 2008. What do you need to do to get ready for 20... Tue, 30 Dec 2008 13:10:32 EST Team Goals You may have noticed that I have changed the team goals a bit. I actually felt a little guilty doing so because some of you are doing so well on them. I was impressed. But I was just trying to "clean house" for the New Year. I have combined Fitness and Nutrition to make room for replacing 1 bad habit with a good habit. I will reset the numbers on Jan. 1 if they don't reset on thier own so we can have a fresh start for the new year. Let's start tracking our goals, if we aren't all ready, ... Mon, 29 Dec 2008 11:53:27 EST What Is Your Plan of Action For 2009? Most people can't get from point A to point B without a map unless they have already made the trip before. If they do make it without the map they probably took a few wrong turns along the way. So, my question to you is have you set a plan of action or made a road map for your health and fitness goals of 2009? Have you included in this your spiritual (mental), nutritional and physical fitness? If so I'd like to hear about it. If not I encourage you to make a plan and then I'd like to hear abo... Sat, 27 Dec 2008 09:57:35 EST How Did You Do In 2009? I didn't start out in 2008 to go on this journey. I had just settled on the "fact" that I was bigger than I wanted to be and there wasn't anything I could do about it. I acccidently found out otherwise. Once started though I became first a fitness fanatic and then an eating healthy fanatic. I stopped exercising regularly this summer when I had to have knee surgery and all though I picked up exercise again in the fall I shortly gave up on it because my life was just too busy. I know, that... Sat, 27 Dec 2008 09:50:21 EST How Is Your Christmas Going? I played bad Santa last night and hid all of the presents from my children. They didn't buy it for minute. I guess I do too many of these things.

Everyone seems to enjoy what they got. We will have to return one gift of dds that just doesn' work quite right for her. Thu, 25 Dec 2008 12:54:56 EST Challenges For January I know most of us may not be thinking about this quite yet but as for me I am. I thought it would be good to get some challenge ideas going. I will personally be doing an "out with the old (bad habits) and in with the new (good habits) challenge." I blogged about it if anyone is more interested in it.

I would like to hear other ideas for challenges and then we will decide before the end of the year on Jans. challenge. Daily, the importance and value of monetary wealth is reinforced to us--cars, celebrity, pampering, exotic travel, a desirable wardrobe, and money beyond comprehension are constantly before our eyes as the goals you "should" strive for. It refers to an idea that nothing in life lasts forever, and with time, all things change. Do you feel like your life is in an unhappy state? Are you stuck in a rut? It will pass! Mon, 1 Sep 2008 13:55:42 EST 8/31 Healthy Reflection: Conceit vs. Ego If you let your head get too big it'll break your neck.

- Elvis Presley

Having confidence vs. having an ego

Having confidence in your abilities is an important part of life. But how do you know when you're crossing the line into building an ego? Someone who is always bragging about himself not only sours the relationships with those around him, but also develops his actions into a pattern that is hard to reverse. Do you alienate people around you... Sun, 31 Aug 2008 10:54:55 EST What Are You Doing This Labor Day Weekend? Tue, 26 Aug 2008 08:29:09 EST High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) Corn Syrup: Not so Sweet

High-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), a common ingredient in soda, fruit drinks, cookies, jams, and snack foods, is made by refining cornstarch through an enzymatic process. HFCS became popular as a sweetener in the 1980's when improvements in its manufacturing made it cheaper than cane or beet sugar. While there are potential health consequences to the over-consumption of any type of sweetener, HFCS carries additional risks because of its high fructose content ... Have you ever wanted to attempt a new career, run a marathon, or start your own business? Mon, 25 Aug 2008 09:26:33 EST 8/24 Healthy Reflections: Learning From Mistakes Experience is not what happens to a man. It is what a man does with what happens to him.

- Aldous Huxley, writer

Breaking the cycle of failure

One experience builds on another and that is how life evolves. Sat, 23 Aug 2008 09:29:40 EST 8/22 Healthy Reflections: Smile The power of a positive face

Have you ever contemplated how much a smile can change a person's day? Both the person who smiles and the one who sees it are positively impacted by such a small act. This seemingly tiny reflex can perk up a bad attitude, make you seem more warm and inviting, and often pass some happiness on to others. So the next time your alarm goes off for your 5 a.m. run or your dog barks in the middle of the night, smile instead of grumbling. You'd be surprised how... Fri, 22 Aug 2008 12:33:09 EST 8/19 Healthy Reflections: Victory Over Trials Victory over Trials

The need to weather hard times is constantly part of our business and personal lives. Do you ever think of these hurdles in a positive light? The next time you are faced with opposition, instead of looking at it as a source of anxiety, view it as an opportunity! Can you apply what you have learned to other areas of your life? Will this experience make you stronger and wiser next time around? Sometimes the worst and most painful experiences are the ones that help... Thu, 21 Aug 2008 09:09:25 EST 8/19 Healthy Reflections: Responsibility Do you accept responsibly for your choices in life?.

Do you feel in control of your life? No matter how negative events or actions may become, you are the only force that is able to determine the reaction. Often we fail to do this and instead blame the world for our feelings of sadness, rejection, and hopelessness. The reality is that your actions are a choice, and you must claim those feelings and choices. We can be our best cheerleader or worst enemy when it comes to determining ... Tue, 19 Aug 2008 10:03:29 EST 8/18 Healthy Reflections: Make Time For Yourself Pencil in some face time with yourself

Millions of people use organizers, palm pilots, calendars, personal assistants, sticky notes, and date books to help them manage their busy lives. Do you allow these organizers to rule your life? Do you allow space for personal time? Often we micro-manage our lives and schedule our time so much that it comes at the price of our own freedom. Instead of scheduling another meeting with your co-workers, schedule one with yourself. Make the most of... Sleep plays a crucial role in your health and well-being. Often we lose sleep because our minds are preoccupied with going over the day's events or planning for future ones. If you have problems sleeping, try creating a journal. Write out your worries and fears about what is happening in your life. Are you considering a career change? Are your in-laws coming for a visit? Do yo... Do you hold a grudge, speak ill of them, or constantly keep score? Think about a homeless man in need of a hot meal, the elderly woman who cannot open the door by herself at the store, or a lost child. Probably none of these individuals could equally compensate you for any sacrifices you make on their behalves. There remains but two choices--h... Sun, 17 Aug 2008 10:17:49 EST Our Children and Internet Safety Okay, I am just venting. In our ward we have had a few fifth Sunday lessons on internet safety and even have been given some guidelines to follow as families along those lines. My dh and I happen to agree with these and statistics certainly would point that way. Sat, 16 Aug 2008 11:29:30 EST 8/16 Healthy Reflections: Life's Lessons Insight into learning

Every season in life is full of learning experiences. One step leads to the next and we can draw on the past and walk confidently through trials as our wisdom grows. Our thoughts eventually turn into our habits, which determine where our lives go. Put your dreams in capable hands--your own. Don't let the "wisdom of the world" become the internal voice that guides you. What has your own life taught you? What experiences have brought you to where you are now? Th... Sat, 16 Aug 2008 10:52:29 EST 8/15 Healthy Reflection: Finding Your Voice Struggling to find your voice

In the face of conflict we might be tempted to just go with the flow and not make waves. The path of least resistance is saying "yes" when you want to say "no" and that road is always paved with regrets and mistakes. While compromise is good and a necessary part of healthy relationships, no one should have to fully deny their feelings and remain voiceless while others dominate a situation. It might feel easier to nod your head and passively agree, but ... Fri, 15 Aug 2008 09:12:20 EST Healthy Focus 8/14: Where do you need patience? What we can learn about patience from a diamond

Trying (but failing) to see your goals realized can be frustrating. Margaret Thatcher once said "You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it," and she was absolutely right. You've got to believe that you will succeed! Never admit defeat as long as time and effort remain. Our greatest asset is patience; our greatest weakness is throwing in the towel. Banish discouragement and feelings of impossibility by working hard, doing... Thu, 14 Aug 2008 09:37:40 EST Today's Healthy Focus: Conquering Fears What leaps of faith are you willing to take?

Trying new things can give you a real zest for life. Pushing beyond your comfort zone in a responsible way helps you grow confidence and creativity that you can apply to your everyday life. Do not let fear control what you do (or don't) do? While taking risks can be scary, doing nothing is a big mistake, as it produces nothing fruitful within you. There is a direct relationship between the things that we achieve and the effort we put for... Wed, 13 Aug 2008 09:36:32 EST i recieved my first calling... Tue, 12 Aug 2008 14:47:49 EST Today's Healthy Focus: Joy Cultivating what gives you joy

The easiest way to identify what our heart wants is to examine the feelings that surface when we relate to that subject. Do you find solace when picking up your journal to write a daily reflection? Does time spent with your family thrill you to tears?
