I suffered a concussion a few years ago and they were my buddies through it all. I am still not feeling great but they are always at my side and even push me when I don't feel up to being pushed. They love to walk and think everyone they meet - people and dogs - are there to play with them. Don't know what I would do without them. Tue, 24 Mar 2015 13:45:08 EST Our beautiful rescue baby Ernie came to us as Freedom. But we felt he looked like Ernest Borgnine especially when he was excited! We got him around Thanksgiving time in 2013. No one wanted a senior that was thought would die with in two months if he was lucky to live that long. So we got him for free. He had no expression on his sweet little face when we got him. But things sure started to turn around for him with in the first week he was with us. I guess you all can relate when I say I'm tired of this struggle. I know that tracking my calorie intake is the beginning to making this change in my life. She was throwing up, got dehydrated, so they recommended exploratory surgery if she didn't pass it out by this morning. Sun, 24 Mar 2013 20:30:24 EST It's time! Hello everyone! I have been a member of SparkPeople for a while, but I was mainly a lurker who read other people's blogs and tried to avoid actually being accountable for anything. I have finally changed my mind set and am looking forward to putting much more effort in to fitness and nutrition and reaching my goals. I'm hoping to add some new friends and find motivation any and everywhere! Tue, 19 Mar 2013 09:34:48 EST Food and snack Recalls I have been getting the recall notices on pet foods lately and it is starting to really get to me. I just got one on Natura products -- EVO, California Natural, Innova and Healthwise. Last week and the week before it was Steves. They have recalled just about all kinds of jerky type treats and bully treats. Practically everything seems to be contaminated with salmonella anymore. Have you noticed a trend to sending out recalls on anything that is an all-natural dog food. I think there is ... Mon, 18 Mar 2013 16:01:32 EST Does anybody else's dog...? In the few moments before she crated the dogs, one of them got to the chocolate, and swallowed it. She didn't realize it til she got back, and the big dog, 80 lbs., threw up the half he ate intact, then went to get a drink. He's fine. The litte 5 lb chihuahua also threw up, had ... Sat, 23 Feb 2013 02:51:21 EST Breed Counts Have those of you with purebreds (not putting down rescues and mixed breeds) noticed much lower numbers of them around lately? I read something recently about breeds diminishing in numbers or popularity, but I hadn't been around a show until I went to meet Cassie's breeder yesterday. I am guessing that they were around a year old. They look to be Schnauzers. In the fall they started scratching and rubbing their eyes on the carpet. I thought that they had allergies.
