I was told by my doctor that my weight and blood sugars are bordering on a problem and that if I lost the weight again I have a good chance of getting those back under control again and so I turned to the place that helped me the first time.

I am... It is a quiet, gentle growth, like the
growth of the child in the womb of his mother and like his gradual growth in knowledge,
affection, physical strength, and understanding after birth. The healing power of the spirit is a
quiet, gentle power. Above all it is a
"time of grace" (2 Cor6:2). God does not ask of us anything that he himself has not first given us. "We love
because he first has loved us" (1 Jn4: 19). He is not aloof from us. Each one of us has a place in his heart. He
knows us by name, he cares for us and he seeks us out whenever we turn away from him. He is interested in
each... Mon, 26 Jan 2015 02:11:15 EST week of prayer for christian unity the week of prayer for Christian unity begins today. I have posted the intro to the theme and reflections on the daily themes on the Catholic Bible Study team page Sun, 18 Jan 2015 18:20:20 EST Hello! First time 'sparker' here! So grateful to have found this team! I'm 53 yo mom to 3 (26, 20, and 16). I work full-time. Married 32 years! Emotional eating is my issue. My 20 year old son is United States Marine and I miss having him home and safe. This program is helping me be accountable as I move toward healthy. I look forward to the support I receive and support I can give others. Sun, 18 Jan 2015 13:27:11 EST Fasting With Lent coming up I thought this was an interesting idea. I found it on the Catholic blog of Fr. Dwight Longenecker. I found the bread to be of high quality and the fasting prayer to help me to actually fast on bread and water successfully last Friday.

Joan Tue, 13 Jan 2015 10:53:20 EST Nine Days for Life novena Hi all! I just got an e-mail about the Nine Days for Life coming up. As the e-mail says, "a period of prayer, penance and pilgrimage marking the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, will take place from Saturday, January 17 – Sunday, January 25." There will be a novena and there's a website with more info and ways to sign up: I'll be getting text messages and I will definitely be praying; I wanted to share this so other people can get signed up if they're interested. I know our prayers are powerful, and we make the gates of hell shake when we are faithful to saying our Rosaries.
Our Lady offers the prayers along with hers, and we ease the pain in Jesus' Sacred Heart. Sun, 21 Dec 2014 16:03:47 EST The purpose of a Novena? If this is in the wrong place to post this let me know and I'll redirect!

I think I have never really figured out what is the purpose or thought behind a Novena. My church when I was growing up had them, but, in religion class or in church I didn't think it was ever explained in any great detail. It was just listed in the bulletin but never emphasized. I have to admit I was never curious about Novenas back then and it just seemed like another repetitive task so bear with me here! <... Fri, 12 Dec 2014 08:00:56 EST Reflection on the Gospel of Immaculate Conception Today we celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This feast celebrates God's choice of Mary to be the mother of Jesus. God preserved Mary from the stain of original sin from the moment of her conception. Thus, Mary was the first to receive the benefit of the redemption that her Son would merit for all.

To reflect upon this mystery, the Gospel reading for today presents to us the story of the Annunciation. FULL OF GRACE!

On the day of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary...our gaze is drawn to the beauty of the Mother of Jesus, our Mother! With great joy the Church contemplates her "full of grace" (Lk 1:28), and starting with these words we salute her together: "Full of grace!" This is how God saw her from the first moment of his loving design. He saw her as beautiful, full of grace. Our Mother is beautiful! Mary sustains our journey toward Christmas, for she teaches... The mere marking of times and seasons
when men agree to stop work and make merry together, is a wise and wholesome
custom.
