Thu, 31 Jan 2013 23:06:15 EST Huddle wall goodies have been sent Goodies have been sent to team members who huddled on the huddle wall during the combined months of December 2012 and January 2013.

I thank all of those who took part and hope you enjoy your goodies. You have earned it.

I hope everyone had a great beggining of the year, and that next month will be even better..... Thu, 31 Jan 2013 22:56:23 EST Team Icon I have been doing a lot of thinking about the team icon, and while it is nice for mothers and or babies, I don't think it is really represenative of the majority of us. We do have some members who are type 1 or have (or had) gestational diabetes, but I believe the majority of us are Type 2's.

So I would like to change the team icon and this is your chance to have your say. What would you like to see?

Not everyone here is on insulin, so a picture of a pump would not... Sat, 26 Jan 2013 21:41:30 EST Do you want challenges? Last fall I posted a challenge (walk it off for Christmas), and several people did say they would do it, but not one person posted any results. Did anyone do that challenge?

Do you even want challenges? And if you do want to see challenges, what kind of challenges would you like to see? Walking, times, strength training, eating, whatever ---- I really would like to hear for you. Sat, 26 Jan 2013 21:30:51 EST HI.. I am starting AGAIN.. I need help. I talked with Nancy at the drs office yesterday and she helped me start, set a few goals. Now I need to talk daily, so am hoping there are other folks out there starting now so we can work together.
Goals: keep carbs daily less than 110, walk daily (rain or shine) 30 minutes and track my sugar levels 4 times daily. Well I have done all now for two days.
my weight is 220, I am hoping that the reduced carbs will reduce my weight also. Not sure now though.
juanita..... Sat, 26 Jan 2013 21:05:59 EST Good Breakfast foods I was really having a difficult time with my blood sugar spiking after breakfast 234 . Looked for a really good bread where I can actually have 2 slices of toast without my blood sugar soaring...

I finally found the COBS cape seed loaf. 2 slices have 270 calories, 30g carb, 8 g fiber (so only 22g net fiber) and a whopping 13g of protein! I don't know if it's the seeds that make it clearly low on the glycemic index, but I'm thrilled to actually be able to eat 2 slices of... Wed, 16 Jan 2013 15:02:33 EST caregiver Up monitoring my husband's night time blood sugars as usual- New Dexcom monitor in place but he doesn't seem to be waking to the low blood sugar alerts-Thought this was going to make my life easier! Just so frustrated with his lack of keeping his daily log....Not telling me how much insulin he's taking etc.,so I can know and be better prepared, or know how to best correct things. I know it's not easy- I know it's a chore- a drudge- He's had a major car accident and seizure's these past few mo... Tue, 8 Jan 2013 00:42:19 EST Countdown to Christmas, what is left to do? I'm trying to find a community to be a part of, for the support, and also to help occupy some of my time. Free time can be the devil in disguise!

I'm a Type 2, diagnosed 4-5 years ago, when I was 27 or 28. I don't remember exactly when. Anyway, I'm Suby, Type 2 for the last 2 1/2 years, and I'm not living with diabetes, more like against it. I don't really think of diabetes as a disease, but my body sabotaging itself in one more way - like natural tooth decay or aging are not enough. 30
Ironically enough, I was okay with the whole diabetes thing for the first year, kept it under...
