It was delicious and really satiating! I used 1 tsp olive oil, 3 eggs, 2 Tbsp almond milk, and lots of veggies (arugula, mushrooms, tomatoes, red onion), and some olives. With the half sweet potato (baked, no toppings), the total calories for this meal was 450, but I think I'll be full for hours.

I also like making red lentil and carrot soup. Also really ... Sun, 5 Feb 2017 12:44:01 EST Hitting target nutrition ranges http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40907063 I am hitting my target ranges on the lower end but feel like I am eating more food than I was before I started dieting. Granted, the foods I am eating are better choices but still seems like a lot of food to me. I just started and haven't weighed since last week so I don't know my progress thus far. My question is, has anyone else felt like all they did was eat and still lose weight? I'm a Type 2 diabetic, and for some reason diabetics can't change their fat/carb/protein goals. The tracker is telling me to eat twice the carbs my endocrinologist wants me to eat.

Can someone explain why this is and how I can turn off the diabetes management so I can have my goals reflect what my doctor requests? Fri, 3 Feb 2017 15:22:09 EST What's your favorite breakfast shake? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40896699 I still love the classic strawberry banana shake every once in a while for breakfast. What's your favorite recipe? Fri, 3 Feb 2017 10:45:05 EST Magnesium http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40893824 I started tracking magnesium recently, and found that I never get anything like enough. I bought some multivits but they only contain 27% of my RDA, and I only take 2 or 3 multivits a week anyway as I think my diet is mostly varied and healthy.

Why does my body need magnesium?

Does it store magnesium or do I need a fresh supply regularly?

And what foods could I include to ensure that I get enough? Fri, 3 Feb 2017 03:40:18 EST cutting back bad liquids http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40892281 Can't believe it! I was able to have one coke at Rosa's one time and had one Root Beer this week. That was all the "bad" liquids I had!!! One help, got carton of O.J. and grapefruit juice. "hid" the Root Beer with those juices. It worked. May drink one R.B. tonight, but not sure. It has helped.
It's great that I have a wife, of 48 years, who "hides" those tempting snacks, etc. for me. Also, no Snickers for about 9 months!!
Now to just quit snacking after 7 PM Thu, 2 Feb 2017 21:38:18 EST acess to pages http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40890790 every time i try to go to the page to read and then log points I am locked out and when trying to enter food into my journal the page locks out and asks if i want to join .whats up? Thu, 2 Feb 2017 10:07:30 EST Food counseling? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40882285 Has anyone had success with a counselor for food?

I am not technically overweight and I don't have any diseases, so I doubt I medically qualify for a nutritionist. But I eat horribly and I always have and trying to change that makes me very anxious. I *know* what is healthy and how I *should* eat so I don't need classes or anything. I feel like I need a therapist/dietitian to help with my emotional connection to unhealthy food.

Does that exist? Has anyone done th... Wed, 1 Feb 2017 15:50:32 EST Spark Trivia question. http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40880903 The question was.. Does the body need a certain amount of carbs to metabolize fat correctly?

I of course, answered NO, since I lose weight, even on days I eat 0-3 carbs. The minimum suggested limit to metabolize fat correctly was 130 grams of carbs. I have lost 47,2 lbs. since December 8th.. admittedly a lot of the initial weight loss was rapid water loss, but not 47.2 lbs. I am eating plenty of protein, and getting stronger, working out 7 days a week, so I don't think it is muscl... Wed, 1 Feb 2017 10:55:03 EST Recipe Site - Sugar grams issue http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40879697 I posted this on the Recipe site as well:
I don't understand why "sugar grams" is not on the "short" nutritional list. Why do I need to go into "detailed" nutrition? Sugar count is so very important to SO many people ...especially on this site! I am diabetic and MUST know the sugar count in addition to Carbs. I was looking at a dessert recipe and sugar was not listed on the side of the recipe so I realized I needed to click on "detailed" nutrition. There were over 21 grams of sugar in o... Wed, 1 Feb 2017 07:46:58 EST Ideas to eat like a normal person. http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40877519 I want to continue eating controlled portions of food. I can weigh and measure but I tend to snack often if I am still hungry. Not terrible - I'm usually very happy with a big salad (3 cups or so) as a snack or a cup or so of cooked spinach and maybe an egg white. But I may do that 3 or 4 times a day even when having a balanced diet. What I want to do is cut down on the volume I eat. I want to be able to have my meals, a reasonable snack and let it go at that. When we travel it is not a... I took his offer but I am struggling with what to eat in our cafeteria. They serve a lot of fried foods and I don't want to eat that a lot, when they have grilled chicken it's cold or uncooked, the ... Mon, 30 Jan 2017 18:31:56 EST Low Salt Diet??? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40866778 So..... My husband basically needs to be eating a low to no salt diet. He is Pre-diabetic with hypertension, has a fatty liver and has OSA. He weighs about 360 lbs and is 5'10". His doctor put him at the morbidly obese level. I'm trying to come up with simple and easy ways to help him with his weight and to eat healthier (he likes his fried food and chips, etc). I don't want to seem like the kind of wife who is trying to make him do this because in reality I understand that HE needs to make t...
