SparkPeople SparkPeople Fast Break Messageboard http://www.sparkpeople.com/assets/nav/nav_logo_v3.gif http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard_topics.asp?imboard=63 Went to the gym today..... http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=63&imparent=31020873 Checked out a new gym in town and LOVE it!
Started slow, walking on the treadmill 0.5 mph and up to 1.1mph Burned 18
calories in 10 minutes. Not a small task for me, leading a mostly seditary
lifestyle, but I am planning on swimming for fun a little later. 104
Oh, the zumba class looked fun, but I don't think I am ready for that yet.
Also, My heart rate was 114 bpm at 1.1 mph so I need to keep it slow and
steady 211

Sue Sat, 18 May 2013 10:23:05 EST Stress Eating http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=63&imparent=31011335 I am a stress eater! I admit it! I know that to solve that I need to find something to occupy my mind and get it off what's going on but how do I do that? It seems I just want to sit in front of my tv, let my mind wander on what is causing stress ( that seems to be when I come up with solutions ) and eat! Help!! Thu, 16 May 2013 15:39:09 EST Fast Break Goals http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=63&imparent=31001239 I just joined Spark Goals because I've hit a slump in my weight loss efforts. I started with a few that sounded pretty easy: don't drink soda (it tastes like syrup), don't eat in front of the t.v.(don't have one) or computer (that's harder), read a spiritual book (every night) and read from a motivating book each day. Then I went to harder ones: write in a journal and write down 3 positive things that happen to you each day. HELP!!!!! Wed, 15 May 2013 10:09:05 EST daily visual reminder of weight loss http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=63&imparent=31000917 I have found it very helpful to put one marble in a jar or pretty container for each pound I desire to lose. Each time I lose a pound, I transfer a marble to another container beside the first. This helps me to see how far I have gone and encourages me to keep losing.

The second visual is to make a paperclip chain for each pound I lose and keep it on my refrigerator handle. Makes me think each time I mindlessly open the door to look. So if you have tracked your goals today, then please let me know!!! Fri, 4 Jan 2013 09:44:39 EST Time...time...time! http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=63&imparent=29769776 I am new to Sparkspeople and I already feel better about myself and more motivated. I am guilty of wasting hours and hours playing games on Facebook....hours that I could be walking, or reading, or motivating myself and others to excercise and feel better. Although I can never get all of that time I wasted back, I am excited to have found the support on this website and thatI have a much better use of my TIME!!! Thank you everyone for your inspirational stories and for giving me hope. Fri, 4 Jan 2013 00:26:49 EST MEAT PROTEIN VS VEGGIE PROTEIN http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=63&imparent=29766339 Meat protein vs veggie protein.... Which one do you choose? I enjoy getting my protein from veggies. It makes me feel fuller longer, much healthier with a skip in my step. I used to eat a lot of meat, until I did my homework ( a lot of research ). Now I avoid meat protein and only eat meat once or twice a month. Organic range free is my number one choice. Thu, 3 Jan 2013 18:21:02 EST Getting Started http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=63&imparent=29766188 I've been registered to the site for a couple of months but finally started with Spark Coach as I was having trouble fitting the site into my routine. It helps a lot to have the 'coach' guide me through what I should be doing so I don't get distracted and end up spending hours just reading all the articles. I'm looking forward to getting myself on track and losing the 20 pounds I gained in the last year.
