SparkPeople The Guys' Lounge Messageboard A place for guys to hang out, ask questions, and find support. SparkPeople The Guys' Lounge Messageboard Anyone tried web templates for making their sites? How good are they? I was recommended to use them for my free project about health and fitness but I'm still not sure if they are the best solution.
Would be grateful for responses! Fri, 16 Feb 2018 00:08:57 EST Text Buddy needed I’m a 28 yo guy who has gotten out of shape in the last year and a half. Like running the most but will go to the gym if I have to.

If I’m being honest, I’m not going to come back to this board often enough to matter. I need a text buddy who can agree with all the following conditions:
- receive texts at any time, reply whenever
- be able to give and receive motivating insults
- don’t be easily offended

Text 318.697.3016
Sun, 4 Feb 2018 17:21:28 EST Accountability Buddy/Partner Hey Guys, I'm looking for a male partner/buddy who can keep me accountable for my weight loss goals. I would also like to be a partner or buddy for that person as well. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from others.
Tue, 16 Jan 2018 10:36:30 EST Can I bodybuild at 52? Sat, 11 Nov 2017 03:16:18 EST HRT for men Just wondering if anyone here has tried any herbal supplements to boost testosterone. Mon, 16 Oct 2017 01:14:09 EST Whats the story with people farming this points? You get free stuff for it or money or something? Sun, 27 Aug 2017 16:40:28 EST Why do they do it?! One of the grossest (or "most gross") things I've seen consistently on the SparkPeople site is when people feel the urge to take a photo of their half eaten food and post that for everyone else to see.

WTF? It's like one minute you're eating like a normal person then suddenly you go bat$hit crazy and think "oh yeah, I gotta post a picture of this" - and to the rest of the world they see the slop they're shoveling into their cake-hole.

Fri, 25 Aug 2017 07:39:37 EST Elliptical exercise I love to work out via an elliptical machine(s). I usually do an hour 3 to 4 times a week. I really like the sense of well- being I get. I also play tennis or go for a long walk on days I'm not using the machines at my gym. Question, is an hr too much at one time? Is it heart healthy? I'm on BP medication. Any feedback would be most appreciated. Sun, 6 Aug 2017 15:25:47 EST Hello I know I'm supposed to do this in the introductory thread, but I just wanted to introduce myself to more of a targeted audience.

I'm 45, a dad of 3 teenagers, husband to a wonderful wife for 19 years. At a glance, all things appear to be great for me. However, I can't shake the feeling of dread and lack of self-confidence every time I catch my reflection. I was raised by a mother who analyzed my every move and the result was a huge problem with self-consciousness. In nearly every ... Tue, 1 Aug 2017 09:19:14 EST Articles that target men more I really like SparkPeople, however, I am getting tired of virtually all articles or videos assume one is female. Also, all of the default pictures almost always are of women. I like women but they are not the only people using SparkPeople. How do we get the management to do something about this? I am sick of things pointing me to women's wear or the proper sports bra to use. Why not use some profiling of the user being sent information? Other sites do it quite well. After dropping 100 pounds my dress shoes were really too big. I finally decided to go shoe shopping because I have maintained for a few years now.
I was horrified to find that I could not find any decent shoes with leather soles. Or even a decent leather upper. I got quite lucky and found a pair of black pinch penny loafers with a leather sole and leather linings for only $48.00. But I was told they were on sale because this type of shoe no longer sells. I had to actually to on line to ... Mon, 10 Oct 2016 10:14:50 EST How'd the day go? Purpose of this thread, in the Guy's Lounge, is to let us guys think a bit about how the day went, what went well, what went poorly, and consider how to deal with tomorrow.

For me, today, I was able to get in more exercise than I expected, bought critical birthday presents to present to my wife over the weekend, and went out to dinner with my wife at a restaurant she likes, and managed to avoid eating way too much. As days go, a good one. Thu, 6 Oct 2016 21:26:55 EST Let me introduce myself I am new to spark people. Started this journey after a divorce. Weight was my shield. I currently work two jobs so i struggle with eating enough. Thru my employer, I am on a program that has us tracking our steps as we walk the seven wonders of the world. I try to get to the gym 3 to 4 days and have been working with weights but no weight loss yet.. So I decided that I had to find a program that really held my feet to the fire when it came to my eating.
Good luck to all of you. Thu, 28 Apr 2016 16:26:39 EST Allow me to (re)introduce myself, my name is JP Hi everybody,

I'm back on SparkPeople after several years away. When I was here before I had pretty good success. I lost almost 30 pounds, but I gained it back and more during my hiatus.

I'm a husband, father, and engineer in New Orleans, and I'm trying to get in shape. Since I spend most of my day sitting at a desk, I definitely need to get out and exercise. Also, I am trying to eat healthy and practice self-control with my eating. It definitely takes practice. Fri, 8 Apr 2016 16:43:44 EST Want to help my husband But without judgement.

My husband had been big ever since we met 10 years ago. But he's really started gaining weight this last year. He is a stress eater (like me), but while I've been making changes to address my weight and health, he is not at all.

Last night really opened my eyes. He brought home McDonalds. I did ask him to, my fault. But, while I split 10 chicken nuggets and a medium fry with our 2yo, he ate 20 nuggets, a double cheese burger, and a large fry. I go... Fri, 26 Apr 2013 09:47:47 EST Why Do Girls Post In Here? Okay seriously, just about every single other forum is utterly dominated by women. Now the Guys' Lounge is being crashed?
