I've been on and off SparkPeople for years. I think it would be helpful for me to have friends. I have joined some groups, but a lot of them are practically inactive. I've been doing great for almost a week with being disciplined. Please check out my SparkPage and add me as a friend. I need folks to talk to! Thu, 19 May 2016 00:55:00 EST New SparkPage look! Hi everyone!

This morning we launched an updated look for SparkPages. Wed, 18 May 2016 12:04:56 EST Background pic missing from my SparkPeople page I like the new format for our Spark pages, but not so thrilled that my background pic has disappeared. Also, I was keeping tabs on my BMI on my page.....that is also gone.

I really appreciate this site and the support I receive here, but I wish there was a way to keep some of the features I had on my page.

Any input on this?
Thanks and blessings. I'm 43, and my period is still going, and it's been 17 days straight. I've researched it online, and the websites tell me this is common is perimenopause, which can start as early as the age of 35. I'm not really seeking medical advice, but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. It is a light flow, but going on 17 days now. Normally, it's 3 to 5 days of heavy flow. I don't have medical insurance, so I was just wondering if this is norm... Sun, 15 May 2016 16:48:36 EST The recommended meal plans? Yay or Nay? Wed, 11 May 2016 13:33:51 EST The scale moved after a 2 week drought! I lost 6 lbs after my first week, which is a big loss for me. My usual loss on any program is never more then 2 lbs. But, I am heavier starting out this time, so maybe that accounts for it. I knew it would be more difficult this time, because I am also older, and retired from my physical job. I do a brisk walk or bike ride 25 minutes every day.

I have stayed within my calorie count of 1200 - 1500 c, and carb allowance of 100 g.
Different posters here commented to others...stic... It turned out okay because my favorite family friend came and my sister didn't get stressed at her own wedding. Of course, I'd have loved to be thinner, but I've lost about 7 inches since mid November. Now without that looming I can focus on getting more fit and making all of my dreams come true. Tue, 10 May 2016 00:54:32 EST Maintenance Questions I've recently read some literature on maintenance and the statistics worry me. It seems to be a pretty consistent scientific theory that after your body loses weight that it will fight to put that weight back on by way of slowing metabolism and/or increasing hunger.

If there is anyone who can put my mind at ease, or wants to discuss this topic, please, lets, because I want to do this the right way and I think the best way is to ask the people who have done it. My dog ate leftovers and believe it or not, fresh fruit! Whenever I have fruits, I give him a few bites! The leftovers are usually minced meat and rice, sometimes fish and rice.

He likes a bit of sesame oil and soy sauce mixed in with the rice. Would you rather a live to be 70-75 years old without pills that cause side effects or would you rather take dozens of pills that make you feel bad and live to be 100? Personally, I'd rather live a healthy life style and die at 70 than to prolong the enviable by propping myself up with chemicals that might help one problem but cause 10 others. Cars wear out, bodies wear out that's what happens. Thu, 5 May 2016 12:00:28 EST Am I the only one who hates these?
