Don't worry even if things don't go down you will get back on track you know you can do it Bonnie. Glad all went well with your mom's surgery and do not let the stress of helping her recover get you off track....make sure you have lots of good stuff in the house and you will stay on track

Well, I got my wish I shocked the heck out of my doctor this morning. He could not believe that I had lost 55.4 pounds since I saw him last...told me he had never had a patient lose that much in that amount of time without surgery.....I think I am going to give myself a simple goal for the rest of the year....218 by January 1, 2015.

Congrats Jeanne! I hope everyone has a good holiday!

Just checking in here. Weigh-in is tomorrow. I have to admit I'm a little nervous for it this week... but I think it's more the stress and nerves from my mom's surgery yesterday (which went well). I'm currently waiting to hear if she'll be coming home today or tomorrow. I'm babysitting my nephews right now and they're napping... and it's fall break so no homework. I don't really know what to do with myself so I got on SP but I still feel a bit unnerved.

Morning All Well Monday again and weigh in day for me....a good week which I need right now 223.4 3.6 down for the week. I will post my weight next Sunday which will be my weigh-in for the week since I will be on a cruise on Monday. Hello Ladies! Let me first say that I am very SORRY for abandoning this group. Next, let me express how VERY PROUD I am of all of you! You are doing an AWESOME job! emoticon
After the birth of my granddaughter at the end of August, I failed to continue on my weight loss journey. I have had some things going on in my life and have just let myself go. With God's help, I am now ready to get serious and get back on track. I know that I would feel much better if I do. And I also want to be able to enjoy my grandchildren for as long as I can.

When I started this challenge back in July, I weighed in at 245. I lost 20 pounds by September 6, but due to slacking, I have gained back up to 239. Therefore, I do know that I will not be able to lose a total of 25 pounds by December 23, but I'm going to do the best that I can.
Again, I am VERY SORRY for leaving you all! Keep up the GREAT WORK! emoticon

Bonnie, we know if we are consistent the weight comes off. The body adjusts In its own way. These days it seems I am plateauing and then BAM 3 or 4 lbs in one week. I am focusing on family this holiday and not food, and just being thankful that I am adding years of healthy life so I can be with the people I love.

I am also thankful for the support on this board. My friends just see the weight loss and they don't really know how difficult it is to log food and get in steps and make healthy food decisions like we do. It isn't happening like magic and we people ask me"how did you do it?" I just say "diet and exercise" but it is really accountability to myself and to my support team on this board.

Well, I stayed the same on my weigh-in yesterday... after all the work I did both exercising and cleaning, organizing, and rearranging the house. And also making sure I had enough but not too much to eat to compensate for all that housework... well, I'm a little disappointed! However, it's not a bad weigh-in to stay the same and I know that some of it has to be muscle from all that lifting and pushing my leg muscles to their limits. Plus there might be other factors at play here, but pretty certain water weight isn't the issue lol.

All this talk about totals for the challenge made me go back and see how much I've lost, which is 39.6 pounds. My personal goal for this challenge was pretty enthusiastic and I still have 5.6 pounds left to lose to hit it. I have this week's weigh-in plus four more, and I think I can do it. That's only just over a pound each week average. Either way- if I hit it or not- I'm happy for what I've lost. I have my mom's surgery coming up on the 24th and caring for her after she comes home, plus whatever Thanksgiving dinner(s) I have, and some things going on in December to get through so it's going to be tough but I know I can do it! I've made it this far.

emoticon Wow Bama Cannot wait till I can say I am at the top end of a normal BMI. And slow and steady is the way to go I know how you feel It can get discouraging but a slow week is nothing to worry about any more we know, as long as we stay on track, the weight will keep dropping slowly. I think you need to get yourself a nice pair of slacks and a top that really fit the "New" you and dare the friends and family not to notice and be wowed by your accomplishments!!!!! I am still at the pinning waist stage for most cloths..but since I have been this route before I have a few things that fit a little better. I am the same 38 off since the start of this challenge....considering I have Thanksgiving then 2 weeks of vacation I think whatever I get off this week might be my total..I am just hoping I can manage to not gain too much while on vacation....just have to make sure I do lots of walking and eat right...though I know I will eat more quantity than I do at home. Keep up the great work Jeanne

Weigh in this am 174. That's right, I finally hit the top end weight for my BMI. I really and truly cannot believe it. The weight has been coming off so slowly now that I am down but I just keep plugging along.

Headed home for T'giving, my friends and family haven't seen me since August 1, and I have lost an additional 35 pounds since then. Remember when I complained because no one mentioned by 20 lbs weight loss? My guess is they will notice now emoticon

Since joining this 25 lbs in 25 weeks, I have lost 38 lbs. I know others have had great results, also.

But I am not done! I want to lose 5 lbs by Xmas and break the 170 mark. 5 more weeks, 5 more pounds! Let's do this!

Thanks everyone for your kind words. The whole six and a half pounds did stay off and I lost an additional 0.4 pound. I've never been so happy to see such a little loss as that lol. I worked really hard and had a lower calorie range due a lower weight as well as because I was trying not to push myself too hard regarding exercise after being sick, so it was a challenge. So it was good to see at least a half pound loss.

Yes be careful not to get under 1200-1400 calories! I realize you probably know that, but if you are tracking your food intake, you might take a look at that.

Terry....are you eating enough calories each day...sometimes when you hit a stretch like you are in right now you need to boost your calories for a couple of days with more fruits, veggies, and protein. Too few calories can trigger a "starvation" mode by your body we are here to listen if you want to brainstorm Don't get discouraged emoticon

I think we are pretty much self monitoring!!! There seem to be only four, maybe five who are posting regularly and we are each others best cheering section and I for one will keep posting till our Dec 23 end date. No matter what we do each week, the fact that we are still working at our individual goals is great and lets keep supporting each other for the next 6 weeks.

I guess I've been MIA from this thread. I got sick last week and have been struggling to catch up with everything, especially since I was already behind on some things before that. My weigh-in a few days ago put me at 256 even (6.4 pounds lost), but it was after a day of suffering from a stomach virus so we'll see if it sticks around this coming weigh-in. Most of it was genuine weight loss I think because I'm noticing my arms and legs, etc. are smaller this past couple weeks!

Yay Jeanne and Bama, keep it up! Bama, how exciting to be close to goal, you're doing so great!

Keep pushing 123Terry. Find something that works for you and stick to it. I know it's hard but I know you can do it. If you've been working out and it's not helping, try finding new exercise methods. Change it up a bit. If you feel you've hit a plateau and trying a new exercise for a week or two doesn't work, then maybe up your calories a little for a week. I heard of this on someone else's blog. They said they gained at first and then when they went back to their normal calorie range, they started losing again.

Weighed in at 174.5 again this week. I was at a conference, and took some good food with me, but only got in about 30 mins in the hotel fitness center every day, and didn't get my 10K steps in any of the 4 days but still...in my other life I would have gained 3 lbs., because I always looked at conferences as food trips (new restaurants, local cuisine). I had a good conference, but it was more about wise choices.

I am still here with you Jeanne! Weigh in this am 174.5, that's one half pound from the top end of healthy weight for me! Yeah, just 10-12 pounds left to get to maintenance. I am shooting for the 162-164 range, somewhere I haven't been since I was in college (for my undergrad!)

Seven weeks until Xmas, I would like to lose 7 more pounds before then!

Also, if anyone is posting to social media, go to #Fit2Feast to keep up with daily exercise before Thanksgiving. It is a fun place in the twitterverse.

Healthy weight to everyone this week. 7 more weeks, let's do this!

Good Morning All.......postings seem to be dwindling down but hopefully everyone is still out there walking this journey, even in the background. Well I managed to make my October goal by the slimmest margin but that is OK. So weigh-in today and I am 229...Yeah that is 2.6 down for the week. I would love to be 220 by the end of November but the goal setter says that is too ambitious so I set 222 as my target. We've had a couple of really cold, for Florida, days and I had to find pins to keep the only jeans I have up!!! Have a great week all Jeanne

So sorry to have been gone this long! I have been dealing with existing injuries, and just vacated SparkPeople for a while. I have continued to wear my Spark Activity Tracker and track my walking, but that's about it!

I have been fluctuating quite a bit this last month. I ended October at 283!

Sorry Jeanne about your staying the same. Keep moving forward!

My weigh-in this morning showed me at 262.4, for just 0.4 pound lost this past week. Once again not what I should have lost... but this time it is because of that pesky TOM that will start soon. I know I am bloated from it already, I've noticed in the past few days or so and knew the weigh-in wouldn't be the best... However, it's still a loss so woohoo! Plus I am at 32.8 pounds lost for this challenge, just 12.4 pounds away from the goal I set. There are still eight weeks for me to lose that and I'm confident that I will.

Weigh in this morning, 176.5. Eating something every few hours works for me. Next week I do measurements, will be interested to see where the inches came off.

I am about 10 lbs. from maintenance weight. I really can't even believe it. Checking in on this board has kept me accountable and given me a place to celebrate.

Weighed in this morning and down 1 pound even, now 262.8. It's not what I was expecting as I burned more calories this week than I had in over a month, and ate about the same amount as last week... but I'm still proud of the loss!

Was just counting the weeks down and counting our progress. We have ten weeks left, so regardless of how close we are to the 25 lbs in 25 weeks, let's for sure focus on 10 more pounds down in the 10 weeks we have left. Planning my food every day and writing down what I eat makes me very conscious of what I put in my mouth.

I personally would like 10 more pounds down before Xmas (or Hanukkah!). How 'bout you?

Yes Bama, just keep pushing! Sometimes those numbers just don't show up and then BAM there they are lol. Just keep doing what you're doing.

Small goals are good. I like making small fitness and weight goals for myself, it helps me push on and keep going when the going is tough.

I weighed in this morning and am emoticon 1.8 pounds this week (weighing in at 263.8). So I passed losing 45 pounds this weigh-in emoticon

Weigh in 181, no weight loss, but as I get closer to my healthy weight, it gets harder. Last month I lost no weight the first week, then two pounds, then two pounds, then all of a sudden 5 lbs. I know I can't expect that every time, just have to keep on keeping on, but I sure would like to be under 180.

And the weeks just keep flying by.....was worried about this week with all the eating out but I used what works best for me....check the menu first and decide just what you will eat and stick to it....I did and lost 3 lbs. this week. Now I will work to get the last two of my months goal off next week and then go for bonus pounds before the end of the month. Hope everyone had a great week-end Jeanne

Happy October all We are having a nice cool down, at least for a few days. Air conditioning is off and enjoying the cool mornings. Well another week has flown by and my weigh-in day is here again and things are still going good. Down to 235.2 this week for a 2.4 lb. loss. Congrats Jeanne and 123Terry!

My weigh in this morning was 267.2 which is emoticon 1.4 pounds. Between two high calorie days (one was a vacation day) and starting that TOM yesterday, that's pretty much what I expected. So I'm okay with it for the most part. Plus it isn't that big of a gain and I know it'll be better next week!

Good Morning all Well it is Monday again and while it is a rainy dreary day here in Central Florida I am happy and smiling. Since the start of this current weight loss journey, the end of April 2014, as of this morning I have lost 50.8lbs. This week I lost 2.4 lbs. So that makes it 27.4 since the start of the challenge!!!! Reading thru the post I have to congratulate you all Everyone is really working hard and seeing such positive results.....Julie, Thank you so much for starting this challenge and getting us going Guess you are really enjoying your beautiful new granddaughter, Congratulations Come back to the post and "visit" with us when you have the time Have a great week all

emoticon Weighed in this morning and was pleasantly surprised by the number: 265.8 (5 pound loss). I'm so excited I met my second small goal, blew past forty pounds lost, and blew almost halfway through the 260's already.

Aww Jeanne, I'm sorry about your knee! I hope it heals fast and you feel better. Under those circumstances, a 0.8 pound loss is absolutely amazing! emoticon

Bama, I understand. One week I lost 0.8 pounds and was hoping to hit my 30 pounds lost and get down in the 270's that week, and just barely missed both. It was so disappointing. So I completely understand where you're coming from on that... but it's good you're looking at how far you've come because you're doing awesome!

Weigh In Wednesday - 1.5lbs down yay the scale has started to move not the 2 I dreamed of but pretty good, and that is with a kidney infection :-( So next week I'm aiming for that 2 :-)

Thanks Bonnie, I appreciate the support. I was a little bummed all day yesterday because I had a milestone I wanted to hit, also, like Jeanne (it would have been 25 pounds since I joined this challenge) but I know I will get there. Weight loss at 55 yo is a whole lot different than it was at 35 yo. My BMI is still in the overweight range, I just have to keep in mind that regardless of the number I have in mind, it is the healthy goal I am going for. I mean, my goodness, I am down 40 lbs and 3 dress sizes.

Hey Bama. I know it's tough to stay the same. I did that about a couple weeks ago and it is annoying but someone told me that sometimes it's our bodies' way of adjusting to all the work we've been doing. I've slowly come to realize that after a couple weeks. It doesn't make it much easier to accept but between our bodies catching up and gaining muscle, that can account for no movement on the scale. Stay strong!

Weigh in Monday for me, no loss, the first time in 4 mths without movement on the scale. Since I am about 14 lbs from the top end of my healthy weight and I am in the gym all the time and staying in my calorie intake, I think it might be some muscle gain, because my clothes are still loose. Just trying to stay positive, because I know how hard I am working.

My weigh in yesterday morning showed me a 1.6 pound loss (270.8). Not bad for being sick five of those days and getting in less exercise and all. I'm so close to being out of the 270's. It feels long overdue but I know I've been making progress every week, some of it has been slow this past ten pounds though so that's the only reason it feels overdue.

My weight this morning was 220.8. Slowly I am getting there. Hope everyone is doing well and having small successes as well. I am Day 29 of my 30 day clean and healthy eating and I can honestly say....I am not going back to the way I was eating. Such a big difference in how I feel. And....I feel awesome....Now I have to pack for my birthday getaway this weekend. Just a lil excited!!!! LOL!

WOOHOO it is Weigh in Wednesday and yes I'm still exactly the same weight but over the weekend my husband moved out and we (kids and I) got home on Monday and started getting things how we want them ... could take till the end of the week LOL
