Good morning everyone,

Completion of the 20 week challenge

C - 1st lost 11.48% in 20 weeks - wins $90.00
L - 2nd lost 6.1% in 20 weeks - wins $50.00
S - 3rd lost 6.09% in 20 weeks - wins $20.00
T - unknown - has not replied to my request for the information

Congratulations to everyone who participated. I think we can all say we learned a lot from this challenge which will help us go forward.

We will be meeting up on November 26th at 5:00pm at Boston Pizza to discuss the highs and lows of the last 20 weeks...so come prepared to discuss this. Also we will hand out the prize money. Everyone needs to contribute $40.00 for the 20 weeks. S will not be able to make it as she works, but she will send me $20.00 as she get to keep $20.00.

Hi everyone, can't believe it's our final weigh in day. I definitely struggled during this challenge but I am happy that I still ended up losing some weight. I know I could have done so much better, but I have learned a lot and will keep on applying what I have learned.

So, I lost 6.09%. I actually was at my lowest weight this morning. I have been doing really well with my eating the past couple of weeks. I don't know why but I am not having any cravings, and this is the first year that I have not had one piece of Halloween candy. This morning one of my scrub tops that always felt a little snug in the chest and shoulder area, felt a little loose - and it was right out of the dryer. Those are the things that are going to keep me motivated to keep going. I know that if I cut out the beer that I drink, and add in even 30 mins of exercise 5 days a week, I would lose so much weight.

Congratulations everyone on doing a great job.

C - you killed it this challenge. Your percentage of weight loss is impressive. Awesome job!!

L - you did very well too! I know you didn't quite reach 10 percent but I have all the confidence that you will as you continue on.

T - Didn't hear from you much during the latter part of the challenge. I know you have been dealing with a lot. I wish you all the best. Remember one day at a time :)

Final weigh in
I'm not reporting the pounds in total , as I'm not comfortable saying what I weigh ...and how many pounds I lost
I lost 6.1 percent
To lowest weight so far , I'm not at that today , I was a few weeks back
Wanted to lose 10 percent , but I am still pleased with what I lost
Thank you everyone for the support
On to my next challenge
Congrats to everyone and thank you
to everyone for participating ...overall a good experience , I'm lighter than I was June 1
So that is super
Special congrats to the winner .....
Signing off .....lisa

The 20 weeks are completed, there were highs and lows and lessons learned through out the challenge.

My weight today was 162...up 4 pounds from my lowest weight of 158.

As we decided to use the lowest weight we achieved during the 20 weeks my percentage of weight loss was 11.48%. I started on June 1st at 178.5. I know I could have done better, but started to slip when I was sick and also when I knew I had won the challenge.

I will be continuing my weight loss journey as I still have more weight I need to lose to be healthy.

C

L- I spoke to S and she has no weekends off..so will not be able to join us. She will send me her money once we figure out who came 1st, 2nd 3rd. I suggest you send a email to T to see if she available in November to get together. I am free anytime...so any day would be fine with me.

btw...I did answer you regarding dates...saying all those dates were fine with me.

I agree that we need to wrap this up and move on. I also want to move on to a new challenge as the next phase as always been the hardest for me and will need support.

L - I was assuming we would do the weight on November 2nd, but can understand the problem that will cause you...so we can do the lowest weight we achieved during the 20 weeks. Although I have gained 4 pounds it was only this last week and I'm already lost some of the weight gain...so lets do the lowest weight achieved.

S and T - any thoughts on this?

The last weigh in day , to report the overall loss ...
Is it the weight on nov 2 and June 1 that we calculate by
Or is it the lowest we got to
With my fluctuations , re water weight gain , I'm not completely sure that my nov 2 will be an accurate reflection of my loss overall .....if I can't do the water pill thing completely
Feedback pls

All is not lost c , u have not fallen off the wagon !!!
A bad week does not mean much overall , it's about the longterm
I understand how u feel , I get upset by a gain too , I just have had a lot over the last five months
But the loss overall is superb
I've come to the conclusion that the addictive foods r not worth eating
One chip is not just one , etc
Stress , No fun

Hope all is well with everyone

Sorry I have been MIA this past week. So much going on!!!! Anyways I am also up 4 pounds this week. Not surprised at all. I only exercised 2 times and my eating has been terrible. I think it is all the stress I'm feeling. This is the first time in the 20 weeks that I have actually gained and am very upset by it...but only have myself to blame. I am going to try and do better this last week and try and lose some of the weight I gained before next Sunday.

As L said life is a roller coaster and I guess we have to take the good with the bad.

Almost at the end and I think we all have learned a lot over these last 20 weeks.

Hello, late post as we went and saw the movie Fury. Very good movie! Anyway, I am down another pound this week. Slow but steady, I'll take it :) I wasn't as good at working out this week as last week, but I did eat well.

C- glad you are feeling better. I am really surprised that I haven't come down with it, as it is really spreading among my co-workers.

L - You are doing fantastic!

T - hope you are doing well.

Today was the first day in 5 days that I worked out. I can't believe it took so long to feel better. Yesterday I still felt sick and was exhausted trying to clean my house. Today I was nervous to work out...thinking I would have a hard time...but was able to complete my work out at the same intensity that I was doing before I was sick. I did not weigh myself yesterday...but was still at 158 a couple of days ago.

L let's end on Nov 2nd...only makes sense. I am free any of those weekends...S will have to let us know if she is free to come in....if not then it will just be you, me and maybe T. It would be nice if we could all get together. It would be nice to talk about the challenge...what we learned about ourselves and each other as u did learn quite a bit.

S I really thought you would join the gym...as it doesn't look like it would be crowded...but I get working out in front of others... I don't think I ever have. Glad you have a routine for working out. That is great you are feeling more energy. I think being on days helps with a routine.

I'm off to my mother in laws for thanksgiving dinner...

Hi, sorry I missed the weigh-in yesterday. I did weigh myself and I am up 1 pound. I am sure it is just my muscles holding onto some water as I was really good this week. I started working out and boy do I feel great! I am sleeping better, and I have so much more energy. I chickened out and didn't join the gym though. The more I thought about it I realized that I am just not ready to exercise in front of other people yet. So, I have been using my StairMaster and my workout dvds. I am going to go workout as soon as I sign off here. Although, I feel like I am coming down with a cold, I am determined to exercise today!

T - I am so sorry for your loss. It's been a rough year for you, but remember to take care of yourself too.

L - I believe the last day is October 31, although it would make sense to make it Nov. 2 as that is a Sunday.

C - Hope you are feeling better!

Hello, just maintained this week. I am actually surprised as I did really well with my food and portions and work has been very busy so I am walking lots!
I made the decision that tomorrow I am going to join the gym that my husband goes too. I am very nervous, but I think it's time. I know he will hold me accountable to actually go, and when I lost weight in the past it was when we went to the gym together. Now, I need to go shopping for workout clothes as the ones I have now I wouldn't wear in public, lol.

C - glad you are feeling better. 158 is great! I can't wait til I am that weight again!

L - Congratulations that is awesome.

I will have to look at my schedule to see when I can come in. I don't think I have a weekend off for awhile though.

Congratulations L that is so wonderful. I know you have been trying so hard to be down that 10th for the longest time. You are absolutely right about eating a variety of foods because the minute you restrict you will gain the weight back if you can't maintain the restriction. I think through these 20 weeks you have learned what works and what doesn't for you. Great job!!!

I stayed the same this week...still 158. I am going to try and step it up these last couple of weeks...but I most likely won't meet my goal weight. Eight pounds is too much to lose in the short time left but I will try my best to lose something between now and the 30th.

I know you asked last week about getting together for dinner...S will have to tell us what works for her as she will have to come in on the ferry on her days off.

Weigh in
Much to my surprise , I'm down 3.6 pounds since last week
I'm now under that tenth digit that I've been trying to get to for the last month , by 1.7 pounds
Only two doses of water pills this week
So ...I'm pleased
I feel more motivated now , my percentage of loss is not that much , cause I have a lot to lose
But that being said , I'm down from June ...and that is great
Can't complain about that
I think for the long term it is best to eat all types of foods , moderately ...
The loss is slower though but I think easier to maintain for the long haul
If u go hard core the minute u start eating the foods u stopped eating u will gain weight
Hope everyone is doing well

Hi everyone, I am down 2 pounds this week. I didn't do anything differently so I think the fact that I am working days has made a difference. I don't eat a lot at work, and then I go to bed early now. Still need to fit in exercise somewhere!

L - 1.6 pounds is still awesome! It must be hard fluctuating so much with the water pills. You are eating less calories and choosing healthy foods, so as frustrating as it must be, remind yourself that you are doing everything right, and whether the scale shows progress or not, you are changing your body/health. The number on the scale is not always a true refection of the changes that are happening within. You are doing great!

Down since last Sunday 1.6 pounds
Since weigh in at bcch midweek
Gained 1 pound
Only two doses water pills this week , at the beginning of the week ..I was not feeling that well mid week on , I could not tolerate any more diuretic ...too hard on the body , hence the gain
Roller coaster I'm on
It's getting upsetting

Hi everyone :)

I am loving my new schedule! I actually feel like I had days off, now that my last day ends at 3 pm vs. 11 pm. Tonight, I am going grocery shopping and stocking up on healthy foods, and then I am going to prep my lunches for the week as I am back to work tomorrow morning.
I still haven't exercised but I am making up a rotation that I plan on starting on Wednesday. For now I need to get used to getting up so early, so I am focussing more on my food.

L - congrats on being down another 2.6 pounds since Sunday - that is fantastic!
C - you eat very healthy and it's great that you put in the extra workout when you feel you went over your calories. When I was successful losing weight in the past that is what I did. You are very committed - way to go!
T - congrats on your loss as well. Hope your knee heals quickly!

Thanks-you L...yesterday was a good day...not so today...I ate 6 timbits...I didn't realize how many calories are in 1 - 45 calories. My son brought home a big box of them from work yesterday as well as a big bag of muffins. So far I haven't eaten any of the muffins as I know how many calories are in muffins!!!!

Will need to work out for 1 hour this afternoon because of the 6 timbits!!!!!

S-Congratulation on being down 1 pound. I think it would be better for you to make a plan to work-out after work. You are up at 5:00 am if you wanted to workout first then you would have to be up at 3:30 or 4:00am. Why don`t you come home and have a short nap and after dinner work-out. That would be easier to maintain...than getting up so early.

L-Congratulation as well on your loss as well. I guess you will know next week exactly how much it is. Have you started to add exercising into your routine?

Hi everyone, I am down 1 more pound this week. I have not really been on plan so I can just imagine what I could lose if I was! I actually thought I would gain this week as I was off for 4 days in a row, which means not a lot of walking for me.
Good news is I got the day shift line I was hoping to get. I now have no worries about my job security! I am actually have the most seniority on the floor now. It's going to be hard to wake up at 5 am 4 days a week now as opposed to 2 days, but I know I will just have to adapt and I will get used to it.
I need to come up with a workout schedule that will accommodate my new schedule. I just have to get a routine going. I want to get my workouts done before work, but I don't know if that is realistic. If not, my only other choice is to do it as soon as I get home.

L - I think knowing what our triggers is huge! That's awesome that you have figured yours out.

C - It's good that you are changing your routine up as our bodies will definitely adapt to things over time. That is wonderful that you went from a fair reading to excellent on the fit test! Way to go! That must be very encouraging and motivating!

Hope you are doing well T!

No gain that's good to hear c
After a very nice lunch at the boathouse with my friend , I weighed in...
I have not had any water pills this week , and only one dose last week . I definately have swelling in my feet and lower legs ....
Here's the good news ...I gained 0.2 pounds since last week .
So in short , I have lost weight ...
I will have the time to take the water pills this week , next Sunday I should have an accurate weigh in
Overall I'm very pleased ...I hope to lose more by the end ....if not , I will still be happy .i make very good food choices overall, am very much aware of what my triggers are , and am aware I need to exercise regularly .....learned a lot

No loss for me this week...I'm still at 158.5.

Hope everyone else did better than I did.

Starting tomorrow I will be posting my food to keep me accountable. Need to lose 8.5 pounds in 5 weeks and am determined to do it.

I was getting into a predictable routine with my work-outs and needed to change these up. Today I did the following

1. Took a walking test - you walk for 1 mile as fast as you can and record your time and heart rate at the end of the 1 mile. You enter this information as well as your weight and age and your given a rating. I was fair when I first started and today I was given an "excellent" reading. I walked 1 mile in 14.44 minutes with a heart rate of 127 when I finished.

2. I then walk 1 mile at a 3.7 speed and incline 3.

3. I then ran for 1 mile

I felt good at the end of the 3 mile work-out...but still don't feel I'm ready for the G Grind.

No change in my weight as of this morning...hoping for 1/2 pound at least for tomorrow. Once again my eating has not been as good as it should. I'm thinking of recording what I eat through-out the day on the board to keep me accountable.

Hope everyone else had a good week and weigh in tomorrow.

C

Thanks L :) You have been successful 16 pounds is awesome! You most certainly deserve a pat on the back :)

C - Congratulations on completing the WR 1001 steps - emoticon You should do the Grind, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how well you do. It doesn't matter how long it takes you, you will feel awesome when you do it, and have completed all of your goals. You have been a inspiration throughout this challenge. emoticon

T - Happy Anniversary! Hope you had a nice dinner :)

What I have learned from this challenge: I definitely have learned that I let stress and things I can't control effect me too much. I also need to manage my time better. I feel like I always have so much to do and therefore I am neglecting myself by not exercising. I need to change that and make the time for myself. I know if I just start and get into a consistent routine I will feel so much better. I know I will have the energy that I am so lacking right now.

Have a great week everyone :)
