I've set out a new plan for myself starting today. My problem is exercise, even just standing up from a chair. I twisted wrong last week and my back has been out for a number of days now. Can't bend forward even a tiny bit without spasms. I know exercise would help my weight loss, but I must heal first.

I am taking an online course called "When Food is Your Mother" and I think it is going to help. I now look at my food choices and the reasons I am choosing them. Awareness is the first step, but I can feel it changing my choices when I am in an emotional melt down and want comfort. We'll see after a couple of weeks how it works for me.

Obviously I didn't gain 1 pound overnight, so probably water retention, or my body yelling at me to get busy and clean up my diet.
I had maybe 2 cups of water yesterday and we didn't have food to make for dinner and so ate fast food. But a pound more today? Yikes!
I was losing when I could get my family to stop bringing home foods I shouldn't eat. If it is in the house, I will eat it. For a while they bought items I didn't care for and all was well. The last few weeks they brought home things I love and it all fell apart.

So, I did really well in the first few months of the year, but over the last month and a half, my mind has been preoccupied with finding a job in another city and then moving. I've finally made the move, and have made the conscious decision to get back to tracking on here. I haven't utilized this site in about 6 weeks. 4 pounds gained in 6 weeks without any tracking, and almost no exercise... not too bad. But I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.

Fortunately, there is a pool here at the apartments I'm staying at, so I plan to swim for about 45 minutes a day, at least 4 days a week, along with walking to several places, such as church, dollar store near by, etc. Saves me gas, and gets me moving more. Also, my new job will have me standing/moving around the entire time, as I'm now working at a video store as a customer service rep.

Anyway, I hope everyone here who has stumbled continues onward in making progress. And great job to those who have seen a difference on the scales (and hopefully other factors such as measurements too).

weighing yourself daily helps but getting back to healthy eating is a must. I too have slipped for the last 2 weeks and I am kicking myself. But I have added more exercises and I can see the difference. I did lose another 13/4 of a pound. BUT I CAN DO BETTER,
Lets get back on track and next week we will be posting a great number.

I have fallen off my eating plan for 2 weeks. Slowly the first week, adding in little goodies, but still maintaining my weight loss and weighing daily. Eating totally wrong this week and afraid to weigh in. Now I feel sickly and fed up with myself. So I finally stepped on the scale this morning. Up 2 pounds. Sad, disillusioned, with only myself to blame. Going back to my daily weigh in and accountability.

This is why I weigh daily. Lost 1.5, next day gained 1, next day 1.5 for net loss of 2 pounds over 3 days. My body just jumps around. Last night I craved salt and so I ate saltine crackers with some melon. Trying to stop eating wheat, so not good. Surprised by the loss this morning. Guess I should just listen to what my body is asking for. : )

So I only lose on average 1 pound a week? I've got to do better if I want to lose 30 pounds by the end of summer! I wonder what the magic diet is?
