I just got diagnosed with arthritis in my left knee. I also have fibromyalgia. So going to the physical therapist, they gave me exercises that made it hurt so bad I couldn't walk for 3 days! The dr gave me exercises that I can do at home at my own pace. Some of them are similar - just need to go easy. Heat before, ice after. I had lost 50 pounds, and met my goal, and have gained since then due to this knee pain, and not knowing what it was or if I was making it worse by exercising (which hurt so much, anyway). Now that I know what it is, and have meds for it, I need to regain about 20 of that back again!
I, too, have knee problems. My husband also has knee problems. We went to a physical therapist and got home exercises to strengthen his muscles around the knee. Bob notices less pressure on the knee and moves better.
Ask your doctor if possible. A few treatments with a physical therapist may be helpful with home exercise in mind and/or leading to a trainer. I'd start with Pt (ESPECIALLY IF INSURANCE COVERS IT).
Hello all I/ve made u my min tonight that I will go forward with or without Arthritis. I saw my Dr. yesterday and was told my left lekneeis full of arthritis.I'm at a lost for I don't know wht to do. I need some advise and a trainer to hlp get me started. Any ideas. I'm learning the first most imortant part is aceptance of arthritis conditioon in my knee.

My left knee is that of an 87 yo, my right knee is 47. Pre-workout Aleve or 800 mg of Motrin seems to do the trick. I brace it sometimes when I run but other than modifying squats, or lunges I don't change much...
