I am feeling very positive today however I need motivation to keep me feeling this way. I am having a hard time with all my excuses to not exercise lately.

I am hoping to get to 190 by my birthday which is at the end of October. That seems very realistic to me! I go to the gym 4 times a week and do 30 minutes of cardio followed by some strength training. On the days I can't go to the gym, I do videos from the website. I have also made some life style changes such as taking the stairs and walking to class rather than driving. I never push myself too far, I find that exercise just supplements what I am doing with my nutrition. I have always been taught that weight loss is 90% what you eat and only 10% exercise.

BTW, KELLYK, I am sure you will reach 190 soon - you seem very upbeat and positive! What kind of workouts are you doing?

Winding up the day here. Went over on fat calories - this seems to be a trend with me, staying within my calorie range, but going over on the fat cals. Something to work on I guess! Still eating so much less than previously, exercising and drinking that water, so those are a lot of positive changes in a very short amount of time. Cannot complain about that! :-)

Everyone have a great night!

I can't wait to get to about 190, that is when it will feel real to me! I have been eating healthier since March, however I joined Sparkpeople in July, and I have since lost 15 pounds. I am loving every minute of it, and I feel so much better.

It looks like you are doing great! 3 pounds is something to be proud of! I always say, the first 10 are the hardest. Keep up the great work!

Completed 45 minutes of a low impact aerobics DVD (can't wait until my body can do some of my harder DVD's again!!!). My youngest son joined me for the last half. :-)

Need to make lunch and then head out to run carpool for my daughter's swim practice. Thinking a nice salad with lots of veggies and a bit of feta and olive oil will hit the spot. One nice thing about getting myself in gear nutrition wise is that my 15 year old daughter is beginning to eat salads most days too. And all the kids have made the switch to drinking mostly water (which I flavor with lemon, mint and cucumber)! I actually gave up my beloved diet soda (two weeks ago, was having that for bfast, lunch and dinner!).

Anyway, just gonna keep posting here and hope others will as well!

KELLYK, thanks! You seem to be progressing nicely toward your goal, that is awesome! Bet you can't wait to go under that 200 mark... How long have you been working towards goal?

Challenging myself to lose at least one pound per week and looking for people who want to post regularly in order to give and receive motivation and support on our respective weight loss, fitness, and life changing journeys! Have tried participating on a few boards/threads with no luck, either nobody posts or I am intimidated by how well they already know each other. Not giving up though, hoping to create my own comfortable online home!

If you are interested, please just post!!!

A bit about me: I am a 42 year old mom of three (ages 8, 11, and 15), home with them for now, but thinking about getting at least a part time job now that they are a bit older. Joined SparkPeople on September 1st 2013, but was dieting for about a week prior to joining. Have lost 6 lbs. so far even though my ticker only shows 3lbs. YAY!!! Now, have 75 more to go...

Planning to stay on plan today and get at least 30 minutes of exercise. Hope some of you will join me and post a bit about yourself!

Have a happy, healthy day!
